Oh yeah, throw my vote in with Neji, it appears that Strider just owned every Sasuke fan and I already think Neji would win.

EDIT: it appears that Jadguar included my vote for Neji in the update so never mind, I still think Neji would win though.

As Sasuke and Neji are stand so close at begining, Sasuke will be in Neji's 64 hits range already

The problem with Neji's 64 hands of hakke, or whatever it is called, that attacks the tenketsu has been proven to be reversible by Naruto with enormous amounts of chakra. From what we've seen so far, Sasuke at level 2 has WAY more chakra than most characters and even more than Naruto (referring to him outlasting Naruto in their last fight). There's always a big chance that if Sasuke is somehow hit by Neji's hakke attack, he can always recover and fight back just like Naruto did. Neji relying on his main attack to disable someone who has so much chakra is too iffy for me to say that it's reliable and enough to beat Sasuke.

Neji's kaiten isn't even an ultimate defense anymore. We now know that he doesn't spin fast enough to stop stupid spiders from penetrating and clogging his shit up. That just means one thing. Sasuke's 3 comma'd sharingan can counter Neji's kaiten and its fast spin velocity. Then I'm gonna say that Sasuke can dodge every one of Neji's hakke attacks using his sharingan. Neji is a fast guy, but I refuse to believe that he is faster than kyuubi'd Naruto. Sorry, just no.

And then there is byakugan, Neji's most essential ability in any fight. The only slight advantage Neji has over Sasuke is that he can see almost everything around him. But then it all comes down to how fast can Neji react and how good Sasuke's sharingan is. Let me go back to my previous point about Neji not being fast than kyuubi'd Naruto: he isn't faster, and that just means that Sasuke, using his sharingan, can rape his face.

I WAS going to say what Mut said about how Sasuke could recover from the 64 hakke thing, but then I thought of how he killed Kidomaru - who was only slightly weaker than Sasuke. Or maybe he was a lot weaker. Whatever the case, that fact also muddles things up a bit.

My reason for voting Sasuke: level 2 curse seal = stronger, faster, and more chakra. Which was enough to beat a "level 2 kyuubi-Naruto".

That's the thing, Sasuke is tremendously more powerful than Kidoumaru. In Shounen anime, the exiting point of a character (especially villains) in the plot/arc/saga is what usually determines their significance and strength. I hate to say this but DBZ is a classic example.

Mistake 1: Line 3
There are 3 type of Ninja skills: Ninja Teachnique (like chidori), Illusion Technique, Close Combat
Very obvious, Niji is Close Combat type, and Sasuke is Ninja Teachnique type (as he use so many spell)
Mistake 2: Line 3
Sasuke can run faster than Neji? And he can run out of 64 hit attack range? Come on... Even Sasuke after chidori traning, Sasuke may run as fast as Rock Lee, but he will run out Stamina will run out in no time... (See Sasuke vs Garra). Besides, you are telling me Sasuke run backward faster than Neji run forward?
Mistake 3: Line 3
64 Hits take zero second to get ready... Besides Sasuke know Neji will use it at begining, and get ready to run from begining, there is no way Sasuke body could react so fast... (even with his Sharingan, he at most can dodge)
Mistake 4: Line 4 and 5
Why Neji is buzy going but Sasuke has time to release blood seal? non-sence
Mistake 5: Line 6 and 7
If Sasuke really use lion combo, which mean Sasuke and Neji are zero distant,. When Neji use kaiten, Sasuke eat direct damage (losee)
Mistake 6: Line 10
Remember the battle between Neji and Kidoumaru, Even Neji force to split Kaiten, Neji still can release his chakra to block his last thowing knife. (Chidori may hit this time) And, he also can simple "walk" away from the chidori attack after all fireball attack (otherwise, why he need to stop Kaiten?).
Can Kaiten block Chidori or not, let the author decided that...
Mistake 7: Overall
For any reason, if Sasuke really can run away from 64 hit attack range, or he is not in attack range from begining, why Neji need to charge him? In that case, see my another article before (the 24 hrs long battle)
My simulation is base on Sasuke and Neji fight fair at begining, face to face (like the exam). Sasuke will stand within 64 hit attack range, even with Blood Seal, and Neji could charge without broken in the middle

I thought the curse seal uses up chakra just to activate it? I think Sasuke said that somewhere in the anime when he got the third dot in his eyes. I dunno, that's what i remember at the time. So, if Sasuke was hit by the 64 hands..wouldn't that mean he could not activate it?

64 hit is a linked attack, there is no room you can counter-attack once you got hit (escape you said he dodge all)

It is because the spider thing is sticky... it cause Neji cannot split, but Sasuke has nothing to stick with Kaiten.

Naruto didn't survive the 64 palms because he has a huge amount of chakra, he got through it because he has two chakra flows and only one was cut off. As far as we can see Sasuke, while clearly also having a great amount, only has one flow, and there's no evidence anyone without two flows can take the 64 palms.

Everyone who says either sasuke or neji will own each other needs to think it through logically because if you dont, you are just presenting a case of a fallacy in hasty generalization. Remember, what we think is just purely hypothetical. We never know under what circumstances neji and sasuke will meet in. Mut is right in saying there isnt any correlation between the spider guy's and sasuke's CS 2 because Kishimoto can pull anything he wants out of the wazoo. If you think about it, neji should have owned naruto, but naruto ended up winning. Also who knows what crazy ass techniques sasuke has learned (and if he has developed mangekoyu sharingan or not, in which case he would murder neji). Also the notion that sasuke is not a genius is a little off. I dont think that being a "genius" in naruto world means making all new jutsus, instead its the ability to be adequate in everything aspect of being a ninja and work them proficiently (maybe even have a bloodline). As for my vote: Rock Lee all the way!

By the way, about the genius part. Personally, I did not add much of that in my post... and just other people say Sasuke and Neji are genius (actually, everyone is genius, he/r has his/her talent ^_^)

Vasco, this isn't pokemon, there aren't 3 "types" of Ninja that are better than another in any given situation. You're going about this argument the wrong way by creating a "simulation" in which you decide the events (with a bias in mind).

Mut's comment about the spiders was referring to the fact that Kaiten CAN be stopped and it is possible to find a way around it. It's not a "Neji uses kaiten BOOM you're dead" situation.

The 64 hakke attack is not instant either. Neji must go into his stance and then launch the attack. Sasuke, with his speed and sharingan, could suitably escape or counter that attack (especially if he has the curse seal activated).

As far as the curse seal's chakra goes, you could say that it creates another chakra flow, as does Naruto's Kyuubi-chakra. Who knows if it can take a hit from the Hakke. As you say, it's up to the author.

Also, both Neji and Sasuke have been called "genious" because they are above the skill of their peers.

Thats not exactly true. In the fight between Neji and Kidomaru, Kidomaru said it himself that he was scared he might be hit from Neji's attack because it can stop his chakra flow. Also, I remember Sasuke saying that the seal just releases his chakra to his full potential. Never said it gives him another chakra flow. Otherwise it wouldnt hurt him at all to use it.

The Instant mean it doesn't need hand seal, active chakra, or so ... See how long to use chidori and 64 hits, compare the time, you can see what i mean instant.
(By the way, instant noodles take 3 mins to cook, but it call instant because they are much faster than normal noodles. I said 64 hits is instant because Neji can use it much faster than other any technique. want to know how fast, see him change from 64hits -> 128hits, take almost zero second. if i mis-use the word 'instant', then the whole world mis-use it as well <-- that actually may be true ^_^)
