Basilisk: Kouga Ninpou Chou

Damn those episodes were the epitome of badass. I never thought Kagero would try to betray Gennoske but how did she die in the end? And this may be completely wrong but I think the reason why Tenzen hates ninjas and has that thing inside of him is because of the flahback we saw of a girl going to a guy and being attacked and killed and the baby that was born was Tenzen.

Tenzen used poisoned needles to torture Kagero. If I remember correctly, he told Kagero she won't live to see the morning, or something like that. And we got a close zoom on the needles, and there was some liquid substance on them.

what I got from this was that the baby born was the thing that was living inside Tenzen... cuz Tenzen himself said in the ep before that he was a wanderer that came to Manji valley and was rejected then went to Iga. then he said that he started to change and not feel pain anymore...
also it looked that the baby was from Iga since the beginning...

It's no darker than any other episode. It's often nighttime in this series, if you meant that. No way to fix that obviously. Adjust your screen brightness...

Or turn on the lights...

I tought it was Oboro that some how made the poison stay inside Kagero instead of going to Gennosuke. Tenzen wasn't going to kill Kagero with the needles. The whole idea was to lure Gennosuke there, and there would be no bait if she where to die.

Kagero: "Don't waste time... And kill me."
Tenzen: "There is no need to hurry. And if I did it... What for?"
[Picture of needles covered with some nasty looking subtance.]
Tenzen: "Tomorrow morning your wish will come true... And you'll be dead."

I got the impression he was using needles with some slow poison to torture Kagero. Maybe aiming it so that the next morning, no later, she would be dead, no matter what. Perhaps she did get a bit too big dose, or using her ninja powers made her weaker and thus boosted the poison's effect.

Isn't it a big coincidence that Kagero died right after Oboro glared at her for like 5 minutes?

I don't think there was poison on the needles. Probably it was some kind of mix with spices and vinegar or something to make the needles hurt more. Why would Tenzen poison her anyway? He had her tied up and could just as well chop her up with his sword or by head-butting her to death when morning came.

Well, I doubt we will ever know the real answer. However, Oboro's power isn't to kill somebody. It's merely to annul other powers. If somebody can form poison into her breath, canceling that power doesn't make the poison to affect the person herself, instead. That's Gennosuke's power, not Oboro's.

I guess Kagero's death right then was just a coincidence, then. Or she used the last bit of her remaining strenght to try to use her power, and that was too much for her tortured body to bear. And most likely she lost her will to live anyway, after being betrayed by Gennosuke.

Heh I've watched Basilisk since it started, and I must say that I've loved it so far. I can't wait 2 see the next and final episode, but I also can't help it think that for some add reason Oboro will die trying 2 protect Gennouske or get him killed by not fighting or something and make him protect her X_X*.

I don't kn0w I guess I can only wait for the next episode and see what's going 2 happen >.>

That's why I said this.

What I meant was that Kagero had already created the poison so Oboro merely stopped it from getting to Gennosuke. Thereby making it stay inside Kagero and killing her.

Your new argument sounds logical though. That she just let go because she had no reason to live.

yes, oboro CANNOT turn kagero's poison technique against herself. BUT, Kagero technique might be not only to harbor poison, but also have a slight resistance to it?

Oboro stopped Kagero from using the poison, and also stop Kagero's resistance to Tenzen's poison. Although that's just another guess. Another possibilty is that Kagero's resistance to her own poison dissappeared as well,

For some reason I don't think Tenzen used poisen at the end of the needles. I seriously doubt that poisen needles would make Kagero scream like that, she is a trained ninja after all.

Oboro removing her resistance seems to make the most sense, but most everything Oboro's eye's did this episode was a little hinky.

What could happen next episode though?!?!?! Oboro won't fight Genosuke, why would she, she doesn't have any feud feelings at all. Gennosuka also doesn't seem to want to kill anyone and I don't think he's bitter, though he probobly should be. It wouldn't gain either of them anything to fight, so maybe Ofuku or Ieyasu will enter the picture and make them fight, leading obviously to Gennosuke's noble suicide (possibly followed by Oboro's) or something, anyway history favors Iga therefore Oboro since they represent Hidetada's firstborn (with a different name), who actually became the shogun. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

I'm feeling that the only possible ending in such a short time is that they both will die. The way the show has been up until now, I think that this is possible as well. The Hanzo ninja that has been following them around will probably have some big role in the ending.

I am kinda pissed That Tenzen Died.. I mean Why couldn;t he have just learned to love the poision HOBAG and that way they could live together and every day he could die...........and it would probaly make him srtonger too.. like he could build himself up to dying 4 to 5 times in a night......adn then their kids would be MUTANT FREAKISH LITTLE POSION BASTARDS that CANNOT DIE

k... that's what i wanted to know since the show started... but that doesn't mean much. Gennosuke killing himself first would mean the firstborn will become shogun, or the other one could get assasinated, or Ieyasu might just decide that the other one is unsuitable for whatever reason.

Really now why be pissed about the fact that Tenzen died. I mean he showed some cool stuff later into the show, but still he didn't think of any1 but himself and had more than 1 chance 2 kill Gennosuke but simply put he just wasn't able 2 do it.

As for the last episdoes, I don't kn0w what's going 2 happen but I just don't see Gennosuke giving it his all which will probably end up costing him in the end.
