my brother broke his ankle a few years back... it was a spiral fracture and it took a while to heal. he had to get surgery where they put steel bits around the bone to make it heal properly and all that. from breaking to full recovery for him took at least half a year. did the doctors take xrays of your break yet? if not, then it's understandable that they coudln't give you a proper timetable for that right away.
yeah they took xrays, thats how they knew it was broken. my break isnt as severe as your brother's was (as surgery isnt needed) but i was just wondering how inconvient this will be.
