Thanks alot Kage.
Elin Grindemyr right? She's hot and from Sweden.
I'd like to request a tutorial on masking from anyone who has requisite knowledge. Sometimes, I want to make a mask in the shape of an outline of one layer and apply it to another layer, but so far I've been unsuccessful. The best I can do is make a mask and fill it with black then selectively uncover the areas I want with a brush, but this is imprecise and time-consuming. There's got to be a better way.
when you say outline of one layer, do you mean the non-transparent part of one layer? if so, then ctrl+click that layer to select all the non-transparent parts, and then go to the layer you want a mask on, then click the mask button at the bottom of the layer window, and it should automatically clip out the selection for you.

where could i get better brushes?
people!
i would like know if there is a huge difference between photoshop elements 2.0 and photoshop CS2?
<3 Tessa-chan! <3 Lucifus! ....chotto mate.
Those are some pretty sweet tuts, Kage and Lazie. Very nice work guys!
I don't take credit for this. I read this somewhere a long time ago but don't have the link, so I'm just recreating it.
Btw it works a lot better on anime pictures than actual photos because there's are a lot less textures. Another note for anime sharpening: it sometimes helps to duplicate the high passed layer once or twice to give it some additional sharpening. Here's a quick example:
I think elements is like the "freeware" version of photoshop. Don't know the exact differences, but there's bound to be alot.Originally posted by: kenren

Thanks Assertn! That was what I was looking for. Ok, so now to take it a step further. What if I want to take a layer and make it into a mask. Like, a layer of brushing that I've already done. How can I make a copy of that and make it into the mask for another layer? Is this possible?
Ehh....that's a bit tricker. I have attempted that in the past myself, but I don't recall coming up with any convenient solution =X

Ok, another question. I have a bunch of brushes that I downloaded but they're all mixed together in a very inefficient way. How do I edit my brushes so I can move them around into different folders and split them up and recategorize and name them?
couldn't you just do that from the brushes folder just browsing it?
No, I could if they were in different folders, but they're not. I have these 'brush sets' that are made of like 10 b'zillion brush sets and I can never find anything in them and it takes forever for one of them to load up on photoshop. I want to split them up and make them back into smaller ones, but because of the format windows tells me I can only open the file in photoshop, and in photoshop I can only find the option to delete or rename a brush, which is not what I want.
when you click down, drag before lifting the mouse button, and you'll be able get more subtle curves. Or if you mean literally straight lines, just click without dragging.
