yeah, hotlinking to *ch is a bad idea in general, they've got a very high turnover rate.
If you want to post 4chan stuff, I'd recommend saving it and dropping it into our gallery, just because that way it'll last longer. I've recently upped the per-user quota from 30 to somewhere in the neighborhood of 90 megs, and I don't really have any good reason not to increase it further as needed...
