Has he worn a mask since childhood or when he became a ninja? Does anyone know?
If he takes his mask out he would not be Kakashi we know. It will be strange to see his face now that we are so used to the mask. Kakashi without the mask would look like an imposter.
I'm assuming Kakashi's worn that mask for the majority of his life, seeing how he was a chuunin at age 6 (still find that hard to beleive, but whatever).
And yeah, a true maskless Kakashi would just ruin the image.

i would think facial hair would be noticeable under the mask
If he shaves every day then someone would have seen his face. Personally I would have liked to see a stubbly face. This way he wouldnt look like a gay and more like of a man.
