It's not my favorite fighter, but I've had some nice bouts in it.
When it all comes down to it, Street Fighter 2: Turbo PWNS with a big baseball bat over all the rest.
Hell hath no fury like Edmund Honda's 100 Hand Slaps against a cornered enemy. (Zangief's throws were pretty cool too, in Soviet Russia Zangief throws you!)

I think the best one is Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo, because it had 4 additional characters and introduced some new moves and stuff.
Then again, most people prefer SF2: Turbo because it was the most balanced one ever. Also, it was groundbreaking at it's time being a perfect sequel to SF2.
im not addicted to street fighter but i like it i just play ryu :S my favorite character used to be blanka ^^ only cos he had that electric shock move lol

I liked using Ken, Ibiki, Makoto, and Yun. Those were my favorite four.

i liked the alpha series, it introduced more characteres and ryu's ability to use ken/akuma's powers too.
though my favorite character is ken (you need skill with him though) there was also this other guy (i forgot his name) who was like a bad replication of ryu who had attacks lik "haduken!" which went onl y 2 ft away from him. (the guy that used to draw autographs and then throw them at you as an attack) what was his name again...

You're referring to joke character Dan. Almost all his moves are parodied from the SNK game Art of Fighting.

I just like to point out that even though street figther 3 was a nice looking 2D figther the King of Figther series is till a lot more entertaining

okay for all you sceptic ppl here is my 2 min. ad for street fighter 3
imagine you have no blood, no health... and you are on the ground. the second you get up, your opponent does a super at you.... there is absolutely nothing you can do! you die... in vain.... you were good as dead before you actually died.... how pitiful
but what if you get a chance to survive? a chance to fight back and show your stuff? would you capture it? or would you just let it slip? (=p lose yourself!) that is why PARRY is so awesome... given you correctly guess your opponent's next move, you survive and fight on! a unique system carried and concieved only on the best game in this world.. street fighter 3!

Seriously though, I've played both series extensively and KOF out shines SF in the gameplay department. I've started a thread on KOF Vs SF, so you can go there to see that most people would prefer the KOF series : )
