this is going to sound crazy but......
I LOVE FILLERS!!!
I joke with my friends that the only reason I watch Naruto is to see Sakura or any girl for that matter defeat an enemy that's not a girl. So far a man has never been defeated by a girl if my memory serves me correctly. But I particularly want to see Sakura kick butt. I like Sakura a lot and think she has the potential to be really really cool. And from my observations Fillers/Movie/anything not directly from the manga seems to be the only time she shows any sign of almost being useful. I could be wrong as I don't read the manga and only know when something is a filler by people telling me. But from the information I've gotten that seems to be the case. Like the above mentioned mast breaking she did to defeat the water clones or when she used her chakra to save her and sasuke from going kersplat. Or the time in the movie where she was actually GIVING Sasuke the orders during a fight. GO HER!! So yeah when people tell me we are in another filler I get giddy. I think to myself "will I see Sakura approach usefulness? will I be that lucky?"
On that note. I'm hoping the person running through the trees will be Sakura and we will get a sneak preview of the results of her training with Tsunade. Though in all honesty I'm guessing it's Tsunade herself. But I can still dream!!!
And for the potion being the Cursed Seal. I imagine that this potion can't be turned off like the seal can and since it was mentioned earlier it's not good for the body to be in Cursed Seal mode for too long Mizuki will probably fight super cool until his tank runs out of gas and he spontaneously dies in his fiances arms all teary eye'd and such. That's my useless prediction. But overall I like this filler at least we are getting some background story on one of the side characters for a change. what ever happened to Hinata changing? When are we going to see her kick butt? or talk or more than 2 lines?

Here's another thing i got to say about this episode
yea isnt the super juice basically a cursed seal? and when chouji was hold the stupid bros, it looked like they were having super siezures.
the juice thing gave mizuki the cursed seal. it's kinda obvious. i bet he'll also be able to go level 2. and the baka brothers going nuts was pretty funny and they did look like they were having seizures.

this filler stuff has to end. i can't wait until it ends.

He probably got the seal after all that transpired.
Anyway I can understand the seal because I don't think it's of the true cursed variety, like the Sound 5's and Sasuke's.

Sasuke had to be locked in some special magic ritual box for liek 10 hours though. This guy just has to drink some crack juice. There's no way it can be as strong as the true curse seal, and Mizuki is not as strong as Sasuke anyways, so Naruto should be able to kick his ass easily.
But of course, it'll be some major 5 episode long struggle, because Naruto can't use his good Rasengan at all, just the filler Rasengan. And most likely no kyuubi either.
The gloomy foreboding atmosphere of Tsunade's office was done pretty well, though. And I kinda liked the secret cave base with the kunai keyhole and the secret chain and all.
Ok...you guys didnt get it...The "seal" he gave Mizuki wasnt "THE" cursed seal but...yes....a RECIPE seal. And he got the said seal BEFORE the first eps.
It's also quite possible that Orochimaru gave him a proto-cursed seal.
Since Mizuki got his before the series started, its possible that is was in a half-researched form, not the completed seal that Orochimaru gave his other subordinates.
Maybe he wanted Mizuki to be his first test of the completed seal but Mizuki is a screwup and didn't get around to it for years.
Assertn's explanation works too. That Mizuki had a cursed seal and that the potion is supposed to be like a pill.
Not taking into account that the pill kills everyone not protected by special seals...
Or the fact that even the level 1 seal kills 90% of the people who recieve it...
Makes you wonder how many dead guys Orochimaru has in his basement before he got his Sound Five.

I'm with AssertnFailure and DarthEnder about the liquid form of the pill that Sasuke was given. Some things to consider are:
1. In all of the cases that we are aware of where we have seen Orochimaru give someone the cursed seal, he has told them that they will seek him out for power. This is definately true of both Sasuke and Mizuki. The cursed seal by itself does not give the person his power, but gives them a taste so they will long for more. The true power of the seal cannot be obtained until it is released by some sort of chemical agent. In Sasuke's case, it was a pill, likely a concentrated form of the mixture that Mizuki drank. I'm drawing a blank on the name, but do you remember the female Chuunin exam instructor who has the seal? A special binding seal was placed on it like the one Kakashe gave Sasuke to keep it under control. This is just a little deductive reasoning, but if she or Sasuke had drank the same mixture that Mizuki drank, I do not believe it would have the same effect. Each cursed seal that Orochimaru leaves is unique, and therefore requires a special mixture he has made to unlock it. If everyone could use the same formula, why would they need to seek him to get his power? It could just be sold on the black market for anyone willing to pay the price.
2. If you think back to the episodes with the flashbacks of Hokage #3 finding Orochimaru doing secret experiments (aquiring forbidden techniques) all of the above makes perfect sense. He has become a master chemist, obtaining power through science instead of through honorable means of a true ninja. That is why his techiniques are forbidden.
3. I think Orochimaru made his intentions clear when he gave Mizuki the cursed seal. First, he had been scouting for subordinates for a long time, and each person he choose had something he wants. Sasuke not only has the Sharingan, but also a deep-seeded hate for his brother making him even more powerful in Orochimaru's eyes. Mizuki may not seem like much on the surface as far as strength is concerned, but his twisted ways of doing things, like killing a teammate with a minor injury, is the perfect type of persona that Orochimaru wants for his agenda. That relentless hate is the fuel he needs to destroy a peaceful country like Konoha, and is why he told Mizuki that he "just saw something that piqued my interest". The village has shown in the first attack that numbers or strength alone cannot defeat them. Remember the "will of fire" that Iruka repeatedly brought to Mizuki's attention. The power of Konoha is their love for their country, and Orochimaru is all about pure hatred.
4. For those who don't like (or even hate) the fillers, try looking at the big picture a little more. As I've just shown, it really does fit in with the rest of the plot in some very intricate and delicate ways. Just try not to be too dissappointed when the story doesn't move as fast as you'd like it to. I think the anime writers are doing a great job with the material they have to work with. What would you guys have said about "The Lord of the Rings" (the original books) when it's story had lots of subplots about "minor" characters. Hey, it's a timeless classic now! Just like LotR, Naruto is no small world, and each character has his/her own story that can be told.

Well I for one NEED to believe that the seals are different, because I do not want to believe Mizuki could touch Sasuke's or the Sound 5's level.

No Mikuki didn't he got the map thingie on his arm before that lame "teacher exam" thing (which also looked more like gettin Knives thrown at y ain a giant laser tag arena)... when he told Naruto to go get teh scroll in Ep 1 He was a Teacher already........So he had his Cursed Map/ Directions for juice making... on his arm already

Why didn't Orochimaru Just give him a Regular Cursed Seal........And Lastly.... Who Knew That Orochimaru could bite people and Give them Maps on their arms?...
Orochimaru Should quit being a villian and should move Back To Kohonda and open up a Tatoo Shop...... And you can Sit down and have his Snaked bite ya so you can have an Anchor Tatooed on your chest, And Girls Can get bit on the ankle to get butterflys.... and if your really speical Orochimaru Might give you the tatoo which gives you permision to drink the "Kool-aid of power"
