xxxHOLiC: The Movie

You can find the trailer on AnimeSuki. I was hoping they were going to do a series, but a movie is better than nothing.

If your not familiar with the manga it's about a Japanese schoolboy with the ability see ghosts who gets caught up in the affairs of a powerful witch. It's by CLAMP and the manga has some cross-over with Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicles (for those following Tsubasa the witch is the dark-haired woman who gives them Mokono).

And it looks like they're adding a Tsubasa short to the movie, which should be nice. According to what I read it should be coming out August 20th, so look for it.

I always liked XXXholic over Tsubasa (you have to read them both though). I buy the Del Rey books in the States, they did a real good job on it, much improved over their Negima mistakes.

It's a real nice that the animators did GitS: Innocence and Blood: The Last Vampire. Visually, both those movies are unbelievable (particuarlly Innocence).

Now to sit back and wait 6 months for the dvd so we can get a sub.

I saw this trailer and it looks pretty good. The clothing and setting look amazing. There's so much detail and color. I personally haven't read xxxholic so I'm really looking forward to this.

saw the trailer a few days ago....looks quite good from what i've seen, but i dont like the figure drawings done by clamp...
not sure about other animes by clamp but the ones i watch all have realllllly skinny bodies with weird proportions if u kno what i mean =p

I saw it yesterday.
In fact I am watching the Tsubasa movie today.

xxxHolic - The Movie is marvelous and surreal.
Without spoiling anything, its about Watanuki having to solve a mystery that involces collectors.
The darkened animation gives it a really mysterious atmosphere, which trully contrasts with the colorful one given in Tsubasa (which we do see in the movie, as both movies crossover).

I have the previous version, which looked great, and then I noticed a second version... damn... took me four days to download the other one...
