    News from Anime Expo

    TRSI
    New License:
Ninja Nonsense: The Legend of Shinobu (aka 2x2=Shinobuden: The Nonsense Kunoichi Fiction)

    GENEON
    New Licenses:
    Gun X Sword
    Fate/Stay Night
    Shakugan no Shana
    Kannaduki no Miko
    Hellsing Ultimate

    Bandai
    New Licenses:
    My-Hime
    Gundam SEED Destiny (old news)

Possibly also old news, but they've dropped the licenses for SPT Layzner and Giant Gorg, and apparently Eureka 7 will be something we'll be waiting until 2006 for.

    ADV
    New Licenses:
Super Dimension Fortress Macross, which will be English dubbed for the first time.
Evangelion: Angelic Days (aka Girlfriend of Steel 2, aka Love Eva)

Also, Evangelion is going to air on Cartoon Network

    Tokyopop
    New Licenses:
    Anima
    Asagiri No Miko
    Buss Gamer
    Kino No Tabi (novel)
    Gravitation (novel)
    Life
    Rozen Maiden
    Earthian
    Shinobu Kokuro: Hidden Heart
    Love Mode
    Wild Rock

Not much that I'm interested in besides (maybe) GUN x SWORD, Hellsing Ultimate (which they may have shown a trailer for at Geneon's panel) and of course ADV airing Evangelion on Cartoon Network in full.

More news to come, probably later today.

    Dubbing Evangelion is a sin.

Honestly, ADV's Evangelion dub was quite nice. Then again, I don't even have a problem with misemphasizing Naruto's name, so I'm not as big of a dubbing Nazi as most people here.

Evangelion dubbing wasn't nearly as bad as some others. suer, it had it's faults, but that's not what's keeping me from watching it again ...
of course, i don't know anything about most animes in the list, so i barely care, and Hellsing will be subbed anyway, by some uber new group.
what's Gun X sword, though? it has a nice name, but if names could be trusted...

sig made by Itachi-y2k5, thanks, dude!
Currently Watching: probably a show directed at 9 years old girls, lets be honest.

You know the important distinction between Batman and me? Batman is fictional. In real life, there isn't always an alternative.

Gun X Sword is a intresting name but if i know anime right the name has not much to do with the anime.

Hellsing is the only one i'm intrested in and it will be subbed anyway. Also they rest are not good enough to make me wanna buy them.

I'm interested in Fate/Stay Night. I've seen some wallpapers for it.

It seems to have a tsukihime feel to it.

well, guess it's no surprise Trinity Blood was liscened by Funimation since they are on a Gonzo liscensing spree.

On a different note, thought Maaya Sakamoto's concert was great, and so was KOTOKO's concert as good well, she had a good band with her.

v_v and saw man Faye once again there

Eva on Cartoon Network? Hmm... I will certainly watch or at least tape it.
I haven't lost all faith in the old Network and if the ADV dub is going to be the one aired then it really isn't that bad at all.
Now we just have to pray that the edit-happy morally-conscious religious upstranding sons of bitches over there don't shred that beloved series to pieces. It has great potential to capture new audiences and will surely delight the non-sub devouring non-otakus that only watch anime on TV.

But Eva has a good amount of sexual content (not a problem for Lupin III, though), violence (Blue Gender was done well) and questionable statements about God and why humans exist and that one episode 24... (my favorite episode too!) I can only wonder if they will censor the religious stuff and will keep my fingers crossed that this makes it to a 10pm Adult Swim slot where it belongs... or maybe they can just suck it up and boggle the little kiddies brains a bit and put it on Toonami (almost 0 chances of that)

Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".

As the joke in the ADV panel went. Eva not on Adult Swim would be very... short. I'd doubt they would cut a ton of the religious stuff out cause that is all Eva is about, the gore may be made a bit tamer thou. I was curious about one thing wasnt Eva put on Toonami about 2 years ago. It lasted like two weeks thou.
I wish I knew more about the Live Action EVA movie but really they haven't even picked a director yet. And they wouldn't really say who they were looking at. At AX next year Im going to go to more panels cause I was damn tired of walking around all 4 days this year.
