Well, as the moderator said, you need to be more specific. First off, your download rate depends upon the amount of seeds there are for a torrent. If there are plenty, then the torrent is healthy and you should get a good speed. If there are 0 seeds, that means that nobody is uploading it and you'll have to wait or its just a dead torrent (meaning nobody will ever upload it). So you may not have alot of seeds.
Another possible reason is that you did not port forward. Port Forwarding is where you open up ports for your BT so that way the data the torrent is downloading will come faster. First find out the ports your client uses (do this by opening your client and click on Preferences). Then go to the following site and find your routers model # and type. Then follow the step-by-step instructions. Port Forwarding Tutorial
The last reason is that your probably not leaving your client on for awhile. Usually when you start up a torrent, you'll get times you wont like. Leave your client open. After a few minutes, it'll begin to speed up and the time will go down to something more reasonable.
This fantastic Sousuke sig was made by the one and only Lucifus! Thanks man!
nm can you help me with that Port Forwarding Tutorial??...
i tryed it myself but i couldn't clear it. when i write down my IP in my internet explorer it doesn't go anyware. do you know wht the problem is.?? i have a thomson/speedtouch 330 or 880 can't read it.
plz help me my downs are going awfully slow....
I went to the list under Thomson but I don't see Speedtouch 330 (or 880 as well). Did you mean Speedtouch 530 possibly?

no i'm sure it is 330 i googled it. so is there another way to do this??
Did you use 192.168.1.1, which will most probably be the IP to connect to the router.
Try it, see if it works.

ARGH not workin. just fuck it can live without it. thnx for your time kai & NM.
to find your router's ip address (assuming you have one), start up a command window (start->run->cmd) and type in "ipconfig". Look for "Default Gateway". That's your router.
Many consumer routers use 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 as a default, but this is completely arbitrary. Anything in the 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x or 172.16-31.x.x range would indicate that you're behind a router, and you should be able to configure it. Anything outside of those ranges indicates that you've got a public ip address and aren't behind a NAT router (ie: maybe directly plugged into a hub/switch or a cable/dsl modem).
Of course, it's distinctly possible that whoever set it up changed it to something in that range, and set a password on it. Talk to the people who you live with, if any of them might have that info or be willing to just set it up for you.
