There's actually a new episode available:
Episode 13 - DigitalPanic
Edit: This is certainly getting more and more interesting. And also the series' name is finally explained. It looks like some heavy action is imminent.

my favourite show
Well, this episode was somewhat peaceful still, but it looks like the next one won't be, anymore. Even the landing party seems to be facing some tough times. Well, that's hardly surpring. But things aren't looking good for Mirai in general: Their forces are spread here and there: The autogyro is on Yamato, the landing party on the island. They can't maneuver very well under such circumstances.
why the hell are you saying autogyro???? its called a plane. it has VTOL capabilities but its still a plane. you may call it that "VTOL" to differentiate it... but not autogyro!
seriously, very good episode and I swear, there hasn't been one ep where Kusaka did not surprise me. I mean, one ep ago i thought i knew what his plan was, now i'm totally lost...
Yeah. You are right. I called it an autogyro because I didn't know what else to call it, even though I did actually know it's not a gyrocopter.

you know i was joking right?
No, I don't. But now you are confusing me. So, are you saying it actually is classified as an autogyro? You seemed like you knew what you are talking about, whereas I don't.
It is not officially an autogyro, however I don't think that calling it that in the context of the show is unacceptable. that's basically what I meant...Originally posted by: Kraco

Since i understood what you were saying, then it made sense
sorry if I got confusing
Episode 15 - DigitalPanic
Another really good episode. A traditional fight between soldiers was the second center of this episode, and it divided my opinion. Whilst it had some very good scenes and parts, it somehow failed to really create the panicked mood it was aiming for. It's true that lone soldiers were frightened like people who have never faced such a deadly situation, but the group as a whole failed to act as one facing a danger. Like how they were coolly loitering around after the fight was fought and multiple clips emptied.
I don't think anybody in reality would have been stupid enough in that situation to just stay there and not immediately run away, when the combat was over. I was half expecting American reinforcements to appear and shoot one of the crewmen, to explain why they didn't leave the place right away.
Well, that was just a minor detail. An excellent episode otherwise.
I disagree about the fight. these people are actually sailors from a force that had never seen combat. they acted like any civillian would in this situation. they killed people, which was something they weren't prepared to do. the only difference with civvies is that they knew how to shoot. they actually worked much more efficiently than i thought they would in this situation (before this ep, i thought they'd get captured or something). they wouldn't act as one since they weren't trained to do so. hell i'd even say that without their equipement, the four of them killing even one marine would have been impressive.Originally posted by: Kraco

OMG Episode 16 - Digital Panic
OMG. LOL. (No, I haven't watched this yet, so I don't know yet how funny it will be.)
Edit: Another fine episode. This series has yet to have any bad episodes, so it's not surprising. Not terribly much happened, actually, just some loose ends were dealt with, so that the story can move forward.
fine episode. it kinda felt good after the stress of the one before. it seems that we are entering a new arc. and who's the guy at the end?
edit: Wow... that was a colorful guy (if the article is to be believed). info from wikipedia, but there was a warning about the article's neutrality
Tsuji Masanobu (»?á, 11 October 190220 July 1968?) was a tactician of the Imperial Japanese Army and a politician. Tsuji was born in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.
In his early years he was educated in the Army Cadet School and Army Cadet Academy. During his time as an army officer, he played the role of a bold man without regard to his profile as an elite. Those days, people like him were favoured by the younger generation in Japan, thus he commanded the loyalty of his men. On the other hand, he was not considered a good tactician because he expanded operations in Nomonhan which was already mostly defeated and also he had a tendency to exceed his authority.
In the Pacific war his operations were mainly in Malaya, Burma, and Guadalcanal. He scheduled his invasions on the Malay Peninsula so that they would fall on military holidays. When he occupied Singapore, he murdered Chinese and cannibalized American soldiers.
In Bangkok at the time of Japan's defeat, Tsuji went into hiding in and around Thailand for fear of being brought up on war crimes charges. When it was clear he wouldn't be tried, he returned to Japan to write of his years in hiding in a book titled Senko Sanzenri (L CÌ, lit. Lurking 3000 li) that became a best seller. This made him famous and later he became both a representative and member of the Diet. But in 1961 he suddenly disappeared in Plain of Jars, Laos. He was said to be eaten by a tiger.
He was named by William Stevenson in The Revolutionary King as a suspect in the alleged murder of the King of Thailand, Ananda Mahidol.
Digital Panic has released episode 17-pang!
Zipang! Episode 17 from Digital Panic (avi format)
No, I've not yet started watching this show. School has been getting more intense recently and I'm already watching Eureka7, Mushishi, Shana, Rescue Wings, Ergo Proxy, Blood+, Zoids Genesis and additionally amusing myself with Fate/Stay Night (so overrated), Black Cat (to see how bad you can fuck up a great manga), Naruto (Rasengan no Noodles!, and Bleach (you will turn into a Hollow after watching these fillers)
not to mention I'm woefully behind on Legend of Galactic heroes, Kyou Kara Maou and I intend to start watching Full Metal Alchemist.
yeah, Zipand will just have to wait..
Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".
Damn this show is amazing. 17 episodes and I have really liked all of them. This latest one is no exception. It's funny how they first jump 60 years to the past, and then everything stays kind of super realistic. Especially in this episode there's lots of talking, where only half of the things were actually said, the rest lying between the lines, but it was all just as captivating as any hyper active fighting sequence in some shounen show.
It's remarkable how the writer of this story has avoided practically all the hype elements of the "modern technology in the past" idea, and just sticks to the actual situation and problems, without bravado or fanservice (in a nonsexual manner, fanboyism). You can really feel how the plot of this story is like a cobweb of extremely subtle threads.
The uncertainty of what is going to happen is creating a really sweet atmosphere. Nobody knows what the others really are aiming at, how far they are ready to go. I certainly hope the series keeps going like this till the very end. No matter what kind of end.
The story goes on:
Episode 18 - DigitalPanic
Edit: Damn, this is turning ugly. Positively ugly, that is. There's betrayal in the air. Literally.
There doesn't seem to be too many people here watching this series. That's strange considering this is an excellent series. 18 episodes and I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Every single episode has been excellent, the plot is outstanding, details are well thought-out. A remarkable series, all in all.

This thread has started almost to feel like a monologue after being a dialogue between two, but I'll post the next episode, nonetheless, should there still linger somebody besides me interested in this series:
Episode 19 - DigitalPanic
It was a fine episode. Kind of continued the trend of not awfully lot happening, but still feeling totally meaningful and important. However, the next episode will change that, no doubt. And also introduce us to yet another form of combat.
Does anyone know what happened to this series? I can't find out if [dp] dropped it or it just stopped or what.
It hasn't been even a month since the last release. Pauses like this are hardly uncommon in fansubbing world. Just be patient and watch some other series in the mean time.
