Takumi changing car would be cool, but I dont think the writer will do that

i bet he is gonna change cars, now that some ppl have actually found out why the 86 is so awesome downhill. If more ppl figure out that then its only gonna be much more harder for tak, and he will eventually lose.

Bunta saying that Tak must realize the greatness of the new cars and that he doesnt want Tak to stay a 86 specielts allt the time. Means that he want Tak to wake up and realize that he needs a better a car. Bunta even said that he wont become better and will lose soon if he doesnt change cars cause he wont become better if he doesnt learn how to handle diffrent cars..
takumi can not/will not change cars.
The point of Initial D other than Cool drifts is seeing a underpower car beating a overpowered car.
If Takumi switches to the subaru imperza WRX type R then what makes him different from any others.
Also the subaru imperza wrx type R is 100% bunta's car
Bunta didnt say that, he wanted Takumi to drive more than 1 car so he stops specialising in his 86 so as to gain an understanding of what other cars are capable of, there strength/weakness and how the 86 compares.
iono i think that Takumi will still use the 86 he'll just switch off to the impreza every odd race probably

No you guys are looking at this wrong. Takumi won't change cars. Bunta just makes him drive the impreza because he wants to show takumi the potential of newer cars. takumi eventually tells bunta that he doesnt want to so he stays with the 86. and plus Initial D if based around the whole concept of an older car beating out newer better cars ie. R34, S2000.
And why would takumi switch. he owns the 86 now.
Sorry for stating what has been stated. i read the first couple of posts and they all looked the same.
If Takumi were to change cars Initial D wouldent be the same show anymore, its basically about the 86 and Takumi over coming everyone with the 86.

I dont think Takumi will change cars anytime soon, but his dad wants him to know that he'll eventually have to in order to compete. I think that a good time for him to change cars would be when he goes professional.
I'm also against switching cars once in a while as well - cuz that would mean that he cant overcome the 4WD thing
takumi will use his 86 for awhile more before changing. AND if he changes, it WILL NOT be Bunta's impreza. Cuz impreza is lousy. Really. impreza is lousy in real life.

It's not stolen. If you've watched the series or read the manga you find that Bunta purchased it for the 86 and was just waiting for the old engine to finally give out which it did.
