Perhaps a very interesting character, is Raul Krueze from GS. I also like Garrod from Gundam X. Heero is just freakin overkill. Domon is full of heroic shit. I also like Quatre, he's smart-lookin is admirable.

I'd have to say Rey Za Burrel followed closely by Yzak Joule. What can I say, I'm a sucker for pretty badass characters.

I've always liked Rey really. Calm, collected and always the strategist. And when he met with Dullindal ( who's coincidently another of my favorites, but not a pilot ) and lost about 99% of his fanbase I just loved him even more, because he actually showed real emotion and affection towards another person, which added yet another page to his personality. Add the fact that he was one who devised the plan to take down Freedom and I'm sure you'll understand my choice.

my favorite character would be Athrun, then second would be tied w/ Shinn and Zechs. lots of ppl hate shinn but i like him cuz of his attitiude, it makes him look badass =P. Definitely not Kira, that guy just pisses me off, all whiny in seed and always interfering in battles in gsd and pissing ppl off......

Alright then, just consider them over average pilots for regular suits who have the potential to own anybody if they were given a gundam or something.

hmm. Lunamaria is not a gundam pilot...yet.
Shinn is great except how he fell for Stellar.
Kira lacks passion. He loves power but hates killing. Stupid little man.
Athrun never has a clue what he's doing...
Rey can keep to orders, be cool, skilled, and traitorous at the same time and get away with it...Yeah Rey is good. Great pilot who plays his cards right.

Since that is a criteria for a mech to actually be called a gundam I'd assume so, yes.
