The trailer's out. The character personalities seem a tad bit different (except for Renton's) but this movie looks like it could be pretty bad ass!

Looks interesting. Some differences to the original are evident, which makes me glad. It would be no fun to watch a simply compressed version of the original. Look very intense as well - as if the series hadn't been intensive already...
What's most important: Eureka and Renton are still such a cute couple.
Edit: Oh, did anybody spot the three brats in the trailer? Maybe they are removed from the story. That would be sweet.
Ooh nice find! I wonder though if this is going to continue sort of where the show left off or whether it will be somewhere in between...chronologically.
Definitely this. What I find just as important: Long-haired Eureka. I wasn't much of a fan of the plastered-hair look, I actually liked it when she chopped it short just because it was a change.Originally Posted by Kraco

given that my biggest retrospective criticism of E7 was that it dragged on desperately at a couple points, I'm definitely interested in seeing a version of the story told in the 90-180 minute range instead of the ~1000 minutes of series time. I can only imagine the sheer quantity of textural backstory that'll get trimmed out.
I fully support Long-haired Eureka, though.

The file size is 4.37GB, btw.
Btw, the thing hanging around her neck is not a swimsuit, but a necklace. Another reason to watch it, I suppose.
Peace.
This was certainly surprising. Like Complich, I expected the movie to be kind of a summary, a (brutally) shortened version of the series, and so when it opened as a totally new story only reusing the characters' faces and names and the basic setting, I was filled with disbelief. It took me around half of the movie to finally accept it fully and begin to enjoy it as its own thing.
That being said, it's understandable the movie never reached the depth of the long series, but it performed almost remarkably well. Quite a few characters were left grossly superficial and acted as little more than plot devices, but once again that's understandable. What was really important: Eureka and Renton's little romance, was jolly good, though. More streamlined than in the series cutting most of the emo away and getting to the point right from the beginning, I'd say.
Definitely worth watching even if it won't replace the series by any means. Though long-haired Eureka could replace the short-haired one any day...
wtf @filesize.
naruto movies usually are about 600 mb....
I haven't finished downloading it yet so i can't be quite sure about the quality but for comparison sake, the Blu-ray version of Apple Seed Ex Machina is about 6.5 gig.Originally Posted by MFauli

This isn't any Naruto so quality is a factor to take into account.
So it is worth grabbing then?
well, isnt there an SD-version available somewhere? i doubt my pc would be able to run such a big hd-file anyway... ;-/
