A fine episode. And a mushy one. But when appropriate, I like traditional, romantic and tender love stories, and that enhances my experience of Eureka 7. That's lucky for me.

The next episode could be interesting. It's still hard to see even with the preview if it's hard action or not, but either way, EpyonNext could be right.

Very intriguing, did that look like Japan inside the 'Zone' to anyone else? And what could Dewey be planning now...he always seems to have a plan. I guess 3 years in jail give you lots of time to make plans.

Just watched episodes 41 and 42. I was kind of surprised the direction this show has taken.

The way I understand it is that the planet is not producing enough females so the scrab coral is doing that job to keep all the males on the planet happy or is it something deeper than that.

    Just kidding.

Come on Nanashi, pick up the pace. I am dying to know where all this is going. I cannot take it anymore.

Well, soon Dewey will need to make multiple plans how to avoid court martial... Considering how many casualties he's causing on his own side. They say shitty officers don't get the bullet from the other side, but from behind, as well.

But certainly a very interesting episode. I didn't quite expect what they found at the very end. Well, not that I'd exactly know what they found. The episodes in this series are worth waiting for, to say the least.

I definately thought that looked like Japan in the end...wonder if that'll play into the new world! Great episode, great series and it just keeps on developing. Lovin' it. Now if Nanashi just subbed and released just a little bit faster...

Talking Because this show is the bomb

It's time for another installment of 'goddamn that guy talks alot about one episode of anime!'. Tis true, but ya know, I really enjoy watching e7 that way. This is probably the best show that I am watching right now.

    episode 41 folks

New OP- I just don't like it. I mean, you change the whole sound, the whole mood of your intro, 180. From 3 sorta carefree, fast and loose poprock songs to an overbearing, overdramatic rendition of Amazing Grace... That's a case of tinkering something with something that wasn't broke and just fucking it up to smithereens.

Sakura - the name of the song. I mean, the girl's voice is pretty damn good. But why the title in Japanese and the word in English? Too many awkward pauses. The fact that it's over some kind of remix of a song that will probably play at my funeral is not cool. Some songs are not meant to be used in J-pop.

Oh, but i must admit the animation in the new OP is absolutely ass spanking until you cry it's so beautiful. Incredible animation after the standard slow pan of the protagonists gazing into a sunset/rise.

7:03 - Maurice finally establishes himself as a elder to the two other orphans. Finally.
7:05 - Started drawing vague parallels between this show and Mushishi
    7:09 -
    - That girl spooked me!
    - If Sakuya didn't age, then Eureka won't either?
7:10 - Something doesn't jive. If Sakuya was inside the Great Wall for 40 years shouldn't Eureka, having been part of the planet before, been in contact with her? The Great Wall keeping all transmission inside it is a strange thing...

A part end: I like the background story of Norbu and Sakuya alot. Sort of wish he'd been introduced to the show earlier, but oh well...

7:14 - I mean, i didn't think they called it "the great wall" for no good reason...
7:16 - and of all the people to represent the Vodarek, the most spirtually aware faction of men, they elect a smelly, lazy teenager. I hope he got a big white hat.
7:18 - but the dude reacts really well when his girlfriend turns into a giant water plant. I mean, I would have probably freaked out and started screaming like a small dog in a blender. Oh wait, that's exactly what he did?
    - what i don't understand is why Norbu and Sakuya didn't make it through the Zone? Because they needed an LFO?
    7:22 - BOOM! It's in the air!
7:23 - So, as a comprimise Sakuya gave her longer hair to cover up the 'proof of what Eureka went through'. So makeup is bad, but radical hairstyling isn't?

Final Thoughts: Mostly background, and I guess Renton and Eureka needed some support (though I'd always seen Holland and Talho as the sort of 'this is how love wors' figure for the two, then Norbu comes busting in.

The ED fits alot better, and I love the photos used. The song itself is awesome. The verses are great and the chorus is cheerful (almost too much so), but a really good way to round out an episode.

I can't wait for Dewey to start tearing shit up.

    Episode 42

oh, i bought "The Golden Bough", the book Holland and Dewey both have. Will read it eventually. It seems to be a critical analysis of religion, most particularly focusing on how myths, popular culture, human nature and religion are all intertwined to become one phenomenon.

    the episode
still not feeling the new OP....
7:04 - "True Promised Land" - perhaps another reference to the Pure Land, the promised land in Mahayana Buddhism. (Recall my long poster earlier about Amita Drive and the Buddha Amithaba). Norbu's role as 'the monk' really comes in heavy here. Wonder what he's going to have to do to get them into Zone...

    - Good god, Doggie is going to fly the most difficult mission they ever had? I know he'll do just fine, since it is an anime, but that fact would make me wanna shit my pants if i was on-board the Gek...

7:06 - Norbu is the name of a famous Buddhist monk. He may also be a reference to a lama/filmmaker. Just Wiki his name and you'll see.

    - Dewey Period.

7:08 - Old smelly man and loli. Eww.

    7:09 - this is the e7 music i enjoy!
    End Part A
Hope for part 2: This episode is gearing up to be awesome.

7:12 - Man, the Scab Coralians are evil sons of bitches. Sucks that the Vodarek faith doesn't save them...

7:16 - Norbu we hardly knew thee. Acting all awkward right at the end was sorta funny.

7:18 - The Nirvash moving on its own accord, even against both its drivers... Glad someone understands the urgency of the situation, even if it is the mech

7:19 - I did not expect Holland to go like that...

7:22 - Anemone didn't get through. That's good, she would have caused hell inside... I wonder if Dominic's help is enough to get her through?

    - and Dewey retreats... Wonder that they never show him reacting to Holland's craft blowing up, maybe he doesn't even know...

    - oh, fuck naw. How did Holland survive that shit? I really bonefied thought he was gone...

    7:24 - Awesome.

End thought - I really like the idea of the Earth being inside of another planet. It works on symbolic levels and really fits the theme of the show by putting a nice twist on the oft-used theme of 'the planet being its own being'. I like that the humans have a massive tower going up to space, and the planet has a huge one going down to its 'core'.

It is obviously Earth inside of the planet, but is it just a symbol, something mankind 'brought with them' or is the story more complex than that?

Can't believe they made me think Holland was dead... i should have known better.

Never believe deaths when inside mechs unless they show their head being severed or body blown to pieces.

    IT WAS EARTH ALL ALONG!

no really... it looked more like it was only Japan and that its surrounded by towers. maybe the whole planet is earth and Japan was protected from "something" by these towers?
    pretty good episode really.

^Has the anime ever addressed what exactly happened to Earth and how they got to the planet. I know that the sages mentioned 'not being able to pilot the ship' which I assume they meant some sort of space ship (maybe via a 'wormhole' or dimensional travel) that brought the humans to the planet. Does Earth still exist?

it really depends on the size of the building they are in, pretty fucking huge since i think it's the core of whatever planet they're on. But from this it looks like it's more than just Japan, and I assume it's a sphere like our own, so the part they entered through is just so that they come down facing "Earth" from that angle

You are right.... I thought the pillars delimited the place... but they don't

  17. #317
Anyone notice that Anemone's "eye slits" changed position when she tried to enter the Zone.

They went from going left/right to almost being completely up/down.

Crap, Crap, Crap. I've been enjoying Eureka Seven quite a bit but unfortunately my DL of episode 45 is really really screwy. I don't want to skip ahead seeing as how now at the very end each and every episode is becomming increasingly more important. Do any of you happen to have any links where I can get a fresh copy of the fansub? Who ever can help me out I'll be greatly indebted to since I really can't wait to see how the rest of this series pans out.

i thought the latest release of eureka seven is episode 42...
u can get that fron Nanashi, the website is here:
    http://www.nanashi-fansubs.com/

hmm does that answer ur question??

  20. #320
Don't worry someone else helped me solve my problem I'll be able to see episode 45 now. Thanks for the help though. Yesh I'm surprised that this series dosen't have a stronger following. I'm guessing that's because alot of people get turned off by the surfing mechs.
