really??? I remember, at one point, I was completely immersed in Vampire stories... like Tsukihime, Tsukuyomi, Trinity Blood, and well, Karin (which are all shows I liked). acutally even Bleach now is talking about vampires (even though some would argue that its not good)

no shit it's an ova, but a lot of OVAs are split into several parts. is this all there's going to be?

Well, what is meant by OVA is that it doesn't air on TV, it goes directly to video, hence to DVD... I think that was your question. And that's why there's usually a big gap between episodes.

Awesome OVA. So much style. I love the random Victoria comedy too. Feels so out-of-place in a good way.

    I want part 2!

Yes indeed, the OVA I is awesome, Anderson's Engrish was awesome, and Hellsing is awesome as a whole. Still, at the rate this is going, I forsee each OVA being roughly equivalent to one manga volume... maybe.

By the way, can someone explain to me how Anderson could chuck bayonets into Ceres and holy sticky notes onto the walls if he's not even on the same floor?

Because he will "kirr yoo in za naaaem ofu za looordu, AMEN"

Looking forward to the Valentine Brothers in part 2 (or will they come later? I don't follow the manga)

    did any of you guys have issues with sound in the Aone version? the voices sound....distant sorta, and music is loud, maybe it's just me since i've seen no complaints about it, really makes it impossible for me to watch. i may not be able to speak/comprehend japanese but i still dont like silent movies lol, loud action music with no voices and just subtitles ; ;

The sound was very low. I had to tune it up to the point of my speakers sounding "wrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" ...

see thats not a problem except that for me the music is normal volume, so whenever music comes in it blows my eardrums out, i was just wondering if there was something i could do, dl a new codec, change some codec settings or someting, to bring the volume back lol

you souldn't put too much thought into the physics in Hellsing . I mean, at the end of the 1st Manga the author said, quote (although keep in mind this is a translation):

"Oh, all the rest of the guns that appear in this manga are unreal, so don't go saying "This gun doesn't exist" or "his sense of weapon sucks." They're all cosmoguns that can hold a million rounds."

    and:
"Finally, I think there are some people wondering where Father Anderson hides all those bayonets. Anderson is actually fourth dimensional, so there."

I guess he also forgot to mention:

"And some people might be wondering how Alucard fires 20 bullets out of a 6 bullet clip. Don't worry, Alucard is actually constantly reloading, your eyes are just too slow to keep up."

But overall, I liked the OVA. I think the atmosphere is a lot more fitting than it did in the TV series. Not to mention, the animation was superb. Did Integra get a new voice actress? Because she sounds more feminine than before.

Terra, I couldnt agree with you LESS, as soon as it cut to that first scene of her dead, im just like OH MY GOD, wth, how can they put that childish shit in hellsing? did they change staff halfway through or what *shudder*

outside of that, and the pretty lame score, its nice to see some hellsing again

Currently watching: Blood+, Black Lagoon, Karas, Hellsing Ultimate, Le Chevalier D'Eon, Ergo Proxy. Pumpkin Scissors, Mahjong Legend Akagi

The actual Hellsing manga is exactly like that. It has plenty of random and comical interludes. The animator's didn't change staff nor forget to take their ritalin: that's just how it was meant to be, and that's how I like it.

EDIT: How it combines people being shredded to pieces and blood spewing out that takes up 3/4 of whole frames along with the ADD-esque funny stuff is one of the main things that made me fall in love with the Hellsing series in the first place.
