The Official GotWoot Photoshop Tutorial Thread

Alright well me and Fooman had the idea to make a thread to post tutorials in so that we can contribute to the forum and help everyone out with Photoshop. We're going to continue adding tutorials to this thread, and we will be taking requests. Hope you guys learn a thing or two.

First up, I made a full signature tutorial VIDEO (featuring Mut and the gotwoot Irc channel XD) . Here is what I got with it.

Here is my tut. Im sure there will be some parts people dont understand. Just ask questions, this is my first tut, so probably not the best.

how do you make an animated avatar or picture though?

That is done with Adobe Imageready and I have very little experiance working with it, the most I could do is take a video in .mov format and make pieces of it into an avatar or whatever.

I can help you out with Imageready, although I don't have time to make a tutorial so just IM me.

i like how a50 pointed out that people who use filters for backgrounds will be ridiculed, while those who obsess with brushes, apparently, wont [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

yea, brushes are getting really old, I just learned some new styles with smudging. So atleast now I have a different way of making sigs instead of the same old brushes. And cool sig a50 deff a big help for the noobs. KitKat, googogogogogogo its the greatest tutorial ever [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

i have nothing against brushes, but if you want to consider yourself to be a "good" artist, you would make your brushes, instead of just downloading others

making the brush textures are the hardest part of the process
