sig contest?

how about a sig contest like we did last time?any one up for it?

i think we had one before. i would've entered but i think we were required to make a lot of stuff if we wanted to participate and i was too lazy to do all that =/ i'll make ONE and that's it.

We had one back in march or april. I think the decision was to give it a several month hiatus to let everyone, most importantly littlecooldude, who did a super great job requiring alot of work to host it, recover from the stress.

Check the old SigX thread (the contest threads) for all the discussion that was done about resuming it.

im up for another 1 but i dont have as much time now, what with fulltime work. would be fun anyway though [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

well it would be nice to see another sig contest but i think it would be wise to wait a while as long as you dont find another host... havent seen LCD for a while.

as soon as my compt ililterate ass learns how to use photo shop then will will join but as for now im to lazy to learn how to use it wating till i get into graphics arts next year to learn how to use till then i cant do jackshit yet

I'm up for it. It'll be my first time, but I'm very familiar with photoshop, so I should be able to put out something good. I'll just need a good host for my images.

Yeh it could prove problematic to do another one without LCD's smooth interface i spose i could if i had the motivation host it up on my site but i am way too lazy to work up the polling, and plus id rather compete than oversee. At the least we could set up forum polls i spose but to have a non competting overseer would help if u guys r serious bout getting this second bout goin.

your sig isnt working because you have to use <img src="http://members.shaw.ca/genocide/sig.jpg"> instead of [img]

I'm more for a one-round, winner-takes-all contest this time instead of a longer contest like the last one, but I'm in.

think it should be like 2 weeks to make a sig and whichever sig gets the most votes wins. rather than jst a week. i agree with lasaire and the 1 round thing.

i dont think the size should be limited to forum rule size, ppl get more creative on larger canvases [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img], 1 entry per person, 1 vote per person (ull need to script all that in [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] ) 1 week for voting, 2 weeks for creating.

oh and previous contest finalists get default 50 vote headstart, excluding kagari, albino, and lasaire. sounds good.

any bigger than 400 x 80 wouldn't really be a sig -_-;

but i think during voting, the artists name shouldnt be shown until they release the results, bc people might vote for that person and not the sig[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

that would be a kickass prize....

I definately think we should stick to the 400x80 size, as we're putting alot of creative work into this, and I'm sure we all want to show off our sigs when we get done.

1 entry per person I think. The rounds in the past were heavily influenced by popular character choice, and allowing people to do more than one entry might allow that to influence voting. I.e. people might vote for their favorite character rather than which of the two sigs exhibited more artistic skills and creativity.

i agree with lasaire. it would be most fair if infact every1's sig was of the same naruto character, which could be voted for in the forum, like the 1st round of the last competition. and yes the submitters name shouldnt be shown along side the sig.

yeah same character, no artist name until the end, so people wont go for their favorite whatnot
but before the sig contest, i think there should be a poll for people to choose a character they would like to see in this contest
one entry per person seems right too, cause you dont want someones staff of sigs overfloading all the others
i hope we get to choose our own images instead of picking from a premade stash of pics though
