Obviously its gonna happen. The other sannin have "picked" their kid from kakashi's team, and sakura's useless now, but she would make a damned good healer, due to chakra control, and always running to sasuke when he breathes heavily.
Plus, sasuke and naruto are mainly close up fighters, that damages them the most, as it is now, fighting style wise... they have a pretty unbalanced team, and a decent healer would straighten things out a bit.
naruto don't need medical treatment because of kyuubi (theoretically [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img] )

Being Hokage I doubt Tsunade will have the time to teach Sakura healing techniques. That and Tsunade is the only Sannin whose apprentice is still alive, so I doubt she'll take on another student.

Sarutobi did teach the Sannin. You can see this clearly in the ep Jiraiya has his flashback while Naruto is playing with those bells (between towns).
Saru was giving them the two-bell exercise. Jiraiya got tied to the log while Orochimaru and Tsunade got a bell. And no, Saru did not teach Kakashi, the 4th did.
Sakura will suddenly wake up with superhuman strength like Tsunade and she sees Sakura's house broken down and take in Sakura as her apprentice =P

Finally, sakura will be always worthless. But it's nice in awhile to here her moan the name sasuke. If she is going to be better, it will probably going to happen very late in the anime. Maybe when naruto becomes hokage.
I sure hope so, I am tired of Sakura doing nothing and her training rather than complaining about Naruto being stronger than her ect would be a nice change.

I don't see why everyone has to be so hard on Sakura, she has had her moments (very few mind you, but they were there), she just needs to stop obsessing over Sasuke so much and actually do something with her life. I feel her character has been neglected by Kishimoto so far, but I do think her character will be developed later in the series.
I think her strengths are in genjutsu and not in healing.

I agree with you, ShinobiNeko. I was thinking that Hinata might eventually end up being a healer (probably a really good one, too) with her ability to see Chakra flow. With her crush on Naruto, they might end up on the same team, since each team is supposed to consist of 4 members. Imagine that... Naruto, Hinata, Sasuke, and Sakura all on the same team... That would be a pretty awesome team, but maybe if they add in Shikamaru, then it could be the perfect team... Strategist, 2 awesome fighters, a healer who could also do some lethal damage, and a genjutsu expert.
I believe Sakura will be a Genjutsu specialist, maybe eventually developing a technique which could rival/block Itachi's Shiringan illusionary technique (forgot the name). She is a main character, afterall.

Maybe he originally planned her to be a Genjutsu user then changed his mind, and decided to focus on Sasuke and Naruto? All she's been is a crutch to the group. She always gets in trouble and one of the other two have to save her. Chouji would be a better choice than her.

I don't see how people can compare Jiraiya's relationship with Naruto to Oro and Sasuke. Jiraiya wants to train Naruto as an apprentice, great, Jiraiya sees potential, and a little bit of himself in him. Oro wants Sasuke's body so he can change bodies when his current scary woman body is useless. That's not what I call apprenticeship. Furthermore, Tsunade hasn't even met Sakura. I for one can never imagine the two getting very close.
If you want to talk foreshadowing, compare Naruto to the fourth, Sasuke to Itachi, and Sakura to her non-existant parents who weren't even shown fighting (if they were) when Konoha was attacked. You can call that foreshadowing, you see everyone's parent, minus Sakura's, which has to mean something (i.e. she and her family have virutally nill talent as ninjas) From there you can kind of see people's potential's and maybe even their futures. Ino Chouji and Shika all have a pleasant future, Neji and Hinata are going to rock, but Sakura doesn't seem to have anytyhing.
Now don't get me wrong, I am one of the few who likes her character, and I would like to see her play a bigger role, I just don't think it's gonna happen like that.
Sakura dosn't really show anything that she is going to be a great ninja, besides the fact that she dosn't come from a known shinobi family (seems that way) and from the fact that she has no motivation/drive to become stronger. Even if she did decide so somewhere down the road, it's a bit late, i mean, look how long it takes people to learn/do stuff, it would take her a long time to do anything, even if she is supposedly good at molding chakra, that dosn't automatically mean she can learn/master everything quickly. Besides, she is obsessed with sasuke, so untill she gets over that, doubt she will get very strong/usefull.

I'm confused where everyone thinks that each team needs a healer?
At first I started to think that Sakura would be the strategist of the group and direct the actions of sasuke and naruto but now I've fully given up that idea. I could have seen Sakura as a Shikamaru but now its like they stopped on Sakura completely and just moved onto someone else.

there are many reasons why sakura will never be a healer or any type of main character in the show. the fact that she is on narutos team is the only reason why we still see her at all.
reason one why she will never be a healer: not a lot of chakra, we all kno shes got the best control of the group(for now) but her stamina is crap. this has been mentioned many times before(the tree climbing execise in the wave country 4 example) its obvious that a medic nin uses chakra to heal and i think that justus that repair broken bones, mend torn muscles, etc would require a substancial amount of chakra, which she doesn,t have.
two, shes still obcessed over sasuke, this less than healthy obcession over this loser prevents her from working on improving herself through training.
three, she has no talent in healing, we see kakashi comment on her talent being genjustu, which btw has anyone ever seen her use any type of genjutsu? the only ninja i see becoming a medic nin is hinata. remember all the ointments and medical creams she makes.
all things acounted for sakura is pretty damn useless, hell konohamaru on his worst day could probably kick sakura's ass(sexy sasuke no jutsu ugh...) well theres my opinions, discuss.
When I think about it, maybe Sakura could eventually turn into something useful. She has to, since she is a main character. Maybe a traumatic experience will change the way she views things. Maybe her obsession with Sasuke could actually lead to something positive for her. Possibly, in a mission, Sasuke almost dies, and Sakura would feel helpless... From that point, she might be determined to become better. Who knows? Only time will tell.

dont forget the battle on the bridge! Oh, and the genin test when it was an illusion, oh! and the preliminaries! don't forget those.
but again, we really don't know anything about healing jutsu's.... so we can't talk about them. (the one used on hinata was a big jutsu, but she had a massive HEART PROBLEM you see usually there's a team of 4-5 healing ninja
even with a team of 4-5 medic nins she needs to have a decent chakra stamina to keep those surgury justus... i know one thing tho i sure as hell wouldn't let her operate on me [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
I don't particularly like Sakura myself. However, I have to believe she is there for a reason. She is only 12 after all, and she might be a late bloomer. Maybe they could seal a demon inside her, and she could become strong because of that. Let's see how things unfold. In Chapter 3,486 of the Manga, Sasuke's death from falling off a cliff drives Sakura insane which activates her hidden demon - the Inner-Sakura - and she not only is able to heal quick (like Naruto) but totally destroys Orochimaru and the Akatsuki. She is then unanimously voted as the 6th Hokage (Tsunade transferred her powers to Sukura before she died, not just healing-jutsus, but the large chest jutsu too).

Give the girl a break, so she's not a very good fighter, but I think part of that can be attributed to the fact that she seems to come from a normal family with no one who could teach her anything. Kakashi has been focused on teaching Sasuke, Naruto's got Jiraiya, and she's stuck handling the family store. I strongly doubt she'll ever be super-powerful, but at least she's trying.

Sakura coulda been a better fighter if the writers of the series just spent a little more time developing the character instead of leaving it upon a heaping flames of never used.
Although Sakura annoys me, the writers have their hands full with the development of Naruto and Sasuke, who are definately no strangers to hardship. I think Sakura's development is really going to start when she herself has gone through a great deal of hardship and finally finds a reason to improve. I'd be pretty happy to see all that hardship played out (something along the line of Sasuke beating the living crap out of her after giving in to orochimaru's seal)

Onto another reply earlier, Uchiha Barles, I think your wrong there They aren't good enough writers(i'm not calling them bad) but not good enough to make sakura a leading char and not develop her enough to the point where people wish she would be murdered by someone like Pakkun. Is it almost safe to say they have developed Neiji more than they have Sakura? Definetely they developed Gaara more than Sakura. OMG! I felt bad for Gaara when he was a child and ran to give that girl the ointment in the night I almost cried when she was so angry/scared of Gaara when he tried to make friends, I felt bad and understood him! (so in other words fantastic writing on making us understand the enemy) Yasamaru was so cute, and his sister(Gaara's Mother) that I want to join the Yasamaru fan club pretty much.
I think they simply made a choice to neglect Sakura and not develop her, which I feel was a bad call on their part. Hell you can almost say that Shikamaru is developed more than Sakura.
Speaking of which why is Shikamaru and Naruto developing into such good friends and side by side partners. The way those two act it ruins the image that Naruto had no friends when growing up it seems quite clear that Shikamaru and Naruto could have grown up as friends, even Akamaru(is that his name or the dog's name me not clear [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]) roots for Naruto like they were friends. You can understand why they would be friends being always in trouble those 3 along with Akimichi, they have similiarities where they can bond together always being last in grades and always in trouble together.
To Kakashi Gurl: Naruto is not the 4th. If you've seen pictures of him, you might think they look alike, because they do. But they're not the same person. I'm going to say some things so don't get lost here. Because both Naruto looks like the 4th, there have been some theories that Naruto is the reincarnation of the 4th (the fourth reborn). There's also another theory that Naruto is the 4th's son. NEITHER OF THOSE THEORIES HAVE BEEN SUBSTANTIATED BY THE ANIME OR THE MANGA. This means that there's no reason to believe either one of those. As far we know, Naruto and the 4th are different people, and unrelated.
AngryGumball: I'm going to reserve judgement on the quality of the writers. They've surprised me amazingly on so many occasions I can't count. I'm expecting great things from the story. And they may not be able to, or I should say probably won't bother developing Sakura to be a main character, but maybe they'll develop her to the point that she's a bigger character than people like rock and neiji, even if she's not as powerful...but she'd better be powerful enough to justify the role. They've got it down perfectly for now.

As the days go by I begin to realize I'm one of the few people who like Sakura's character [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img] Well most of the time, when she isn't all fangirllish over Sasuke (okay I guess that makes it some of the time). The rivalry between Ino and Sakura reminded me of Naruto and Sasuke as well. I'd say this though, I think Ino is the most useless character because she couldn't even beat Sakura.
The rivalry between into and sakura and naruto and sasuke are quite different. Naruto and Sasuke have a good rivalry , but with ino and sakura, i think it's kind of obvious that the reason why ino is like that to sakura is because sakura pretty much 'betrayed' her and dumped her as a friend (and i mean ino was the one who actually because sakura's friend and everything) just because they both liked sasuke, so i can see why ino acts like that, she still cares for sakura as a friend, but still feels bitter that sakura would just stop being her friend just because of that...so that's a different rivalry there. And i still think that ino is more usefull than sakura, at least she has a jutsu, and works with her team to come up with a combo, unlike sakura, who really dosn't go anything and it's sasuke and naruto who do all the work
Oh...hell no! Ino did NOT tie with Sakura. The way that match ended was a load of shit. Inner Sakura my ass. I was so mad. Ino won. Period. She has one technique to Sakura's 0, and cut her hair to use it as a tactic. It was brilliant. The writers did that just to give Sakura more importance, but it was equivalent in quality to the first naruto special: fecal quality. Ino is rules...well not really, but compared to Sakura, She's goku.
Her character as a whole sucks too. She's a stupid teenie bopper that listens avril lavigne, takes forever in the bathroom, and obsesses over boys that pay no attention to her. What she needs is a good kick in the ass. A god-kick that'll destroy her on contact. Die.
What other character has a hidden second personality in their mind? Of all characters Sakura is the one to beat that technique. And the detalis behind their two relationships aren't the same, but they are more alike then you think they are.
Sakura and Naruto both chased after Ino and Sasuke. That much is the same, there are differences, such as Ino befriending Sakura at first, while Naruto and Sasuke took a while to hit it off. Sasuke acted as the start of Sakura and Ino's rivalry, because once Sasuke was introduced, they could no longer work together, more like Ino couldn't help Sakura anymore (Not like she would help Sakura get the guy she wanted).
The relationship between Ino and Sakura devloped and ended much faster than Naruto and Sasuke's (which is still devloping) but in both cases it's pretty much the typical "I can do anything better than you" rivalry. There aren't many different types of rivals you can have, either your friends you're not or you hate eachother. In both of these cases, it was more of a friendly rivalry (for the most part).
And no, I don't feel I'm being general about rivalry's, because there are only so many ways you can classify them (hostile, friendly, equal or one chasing after the other)
I agree with Barles about how the sakura ino fight ending was stupid..it was, and so what that sakura has a inner personality, big deal. It was a little funny in the beginning, but it's gotten old. For me, i think that Ino didn't fight 100%, cause I mean, sakura is like the bottom ninja

We are on topic, speculation was that Sakura would have a bigger role as a healer, then people began bashing Sakura as any thread that mentions her name turns into. In a thread with her name on it's assumed people are going to flame her to death.
Ino did fight at Sakura 100%, she would've won if Naruto wasn't such a loud noisy arse and gotten Inner Sakura's attention. Barles you pretty much described Ino and Sakura in that second paragraph, so do you hate Ino too? [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]
Anyway, if the writers made Sakura tie with Ino even though she shouldn't have. The same can be said with just about every fight. "Naruto can't have beaten Haku, there's now ay even with the nine-tails chakra" "Oh Naruto can't have beaten Gaara, I mean Sasuke could barely touch him and Naruto got him all pissed off and made him transform into his full demon form." "Kakashi should've lost to Zabuza, Naruto can't have figured out a brilliant strategy like that somehow got the plan across to Sasuke, whom figured it out just by noticing Naruto transformed into a shuriken."
The fact is, Sakura tied with Ino, you can speculate that Ino didn't fight at 100%, but the fact that she got knocked out afterwards can more or less throw that fact in the garbage. (Though I'll give you that she woke up like 30 seconds before Sakura, so if it had gone down to a "Whoever stands up first and says 'I win' will win (you know, like most animes end up having at some point or another)" Ino would've won.
But really now, one of the only times Sakura had the spotlight (growing up with no real friends until Ino, them fighting and forming a rivalry, Sakura chases her rival until their ultimate confrontation in which Ino still thinks Sakura is a no-body) you still try and take that from her. Be reasonable, she wasn't a natural at things like Ino was, Sakura admired her and rose up to her. It happens to Naruto all the time but very few people bash him everytime his name is heard [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]
Masakiri, unlike Naruto's situtation, with Sakura and Ino, Ino befriended Sakura, and the whole rivalry came about because sakura was a baka and decided to throw away the friendship because they both liked sasuke..and maybe ino can do thing better than sakura because she trians/practices a bit more than sakura... ... but anyways on subject, as for sakura being a healer, really don't see any real evidence that she would become a healer. I think if anything, sakura would fit most as a teacher, because more than anything she is just book smart, so she can be a teacher and teach future genin, seems fitting for someone like her
This sounds like some kind of bizzare RPG. Healer class, tank class, and some kind of damage class. Healer (sakura) Tank (Naruto) and well damage Sasuke.

I do not picture him as a in class lecture teacher, strictly an in the field teacher. I can picture kurenai as an in class lecturer just because she hasn't proven herself as a good enough field ninja/fighter yet. Not only does Sakura not seem like she'd be a healer in the future, but I don't think she'd be a good teacher either. You have to respect your teachers, and since it's a ninja academy, gaining respect involves having strenght. I don't think the students would respect a teacher they know they can beat.
To Masakari: Yes I dislike Ino, but no way near as much as I hate Sakura. Ino's been an integral part in the success of her team (she's useful), whereas removing Sakura from Naruto's team would make no difference, except maybe to improve overall team performance (she's useless, possibly a detrimental). As far as bashing Naruto everytime his name comes up as I do Sakura, that's just not gonna happen and it shouldn't even be discussed as to why. Oooh, and you are correct about me being able to speculate all I want. So I will. I speculate that Inner Sakura the tie between Ino and Sakura is total manure.
I disagree about Sakura being useless. She has actually been pretty important. Would Naruto be able to pull the strength he did without Sakura being in trouble (gaara / chuunin exam eps)?
