when naruto tells sasuke that he wants to fight him, sasuke doesn't smile and say "yeah"..he just looks sad and says "ok."
whack ass animation, the worst of all episodes so far and i even make excuses for things like this..well u know they are preparing for something big so they let the korean teams do this..but i like my anime done in Japan.. gaara got retarded ass eyes in one scene.. and I don't think the episode preview for next week is a spoiler at all..

Not the video compression quality, but the Animation Team that worked on this particular episode are like some kind of interns or something from Korea. They usually do lil parts in some episodes, but this week they got to do a whole one...And they are very whack at what they do..But that is because the better teams are in production for something quite exciting that I'm sure we all know about...Since next week's animation looks just about decent, im pretty sure after that it gets superb...Since it is non-stop action season.

Right after about 08:00 everything just start to fall apart. Graphic goes from acceptable to WTF??? Words of advice, just fast forward whenever you feel like it, because you are not missing anything important. Don't look too closely at everybodies' faces, because they are U.G.L.Y and D.I.S.T.O.R.T.E.D.

Well I haven't watch the episode yet. But since I read the manga I know this was just going to be a filler anyways.
Guys, just be happy these cheap drawers weren't doing one of the main fight episodes.
And WTF did they make a new ending anyways? Viva Rock was awesome.

this ep was done by the same people who did episode 45. the koreans from the WONWOO animoron studios. was curious so i looked up both in the credits.

the animation made me laugh so much in this ep, just watching sasuke's neck change shape and size........

Well, I'm usually the one who sticks up for things that people hate.... in this case, I would probably normally stick up for the animation....
I went into watching this episode thinking that people on this board were probably exaggerating, but I'm sorry to say they weren't. I've never seen this show look this bad, it's usually exceptionally good.
It just made me sick. I hope nobody starts watching this show with this episode and gets this as their first impression.

Some of the animation is even below dbz level . And the sad thing is that dbz is more then a decade older then naruto. They didnt even have digital equipment at half as advanced back then. Its truly sad. Even the fights arent all that much better animated, some even worse. But you arent allowed to say that ofcourse, cause the "wannabe cool people" that act like its forbidden to compare the two series, will never allow honest feedback on it.

everyone seems to be complaing about the lvl of animation. I for one believe that the one hour special is going to be the best you've ever seen (one of the best anyways) Why? cause the good animators are working on that right now, so they gave ep 65 to the crap animators.
I've taken this from another person in another Naruto Fourm. I think he says everything i was gonna say, but with better english.
"Kireiko" from Naruto Fourms
looks like there are about 4 or 5 animation teams....
1.Nara animation with Gainex or Gainax: their work is the most crisp and clean, team responsible behind the awesome fight of gaara/lee and gainex likes to use some cg qualities as well... otherwise known as the "good" animation team!
2.Seoul Loft/Studio Loft responsible for the not so good animation team... works in conjunction with the korean animators...
3.Won Woo Animation: animated episode 45 (don't need to say more ne?)
4.Hee Won: if the characters look a little distorted and not drawn that well, usually those episodes are done by this group...
well, there's prolly more but too lazy to look up, and i'm not bashing or against korean animators at all, it's just that when some naruto episodes have "sub-par" animation work, usually the korean animation teams are the ones that have animated that particular episode... i realize that animation is extremely hard and sometimes tedious work, and i applaud all animators and their efforts, it's just that when one particular episode looks extremely well done, you kinda get spoiled and expect that all episodes are to be like that! budget does play a big hand in which animation team gets to do what episode, so i understand the reasoning behind the poorly drawn ones, and i can wait until the good animation team gets to show their stuff too! (although, that team is the one where i usually am extremely happy and satisfied with that particular naruto episode, the others leave me with a "meh! that was okay, is it next wednesday yet?" kind of attitude ne? )
and is just me, or did all scenes including gaara look extremely horrible? i swear, that poor boy gets the very short end of the stick when it comes to poor animation work... when others get poorly drawn you can still somehow see that it's them, but when gaara get poorly drawn... ho-boy! he just looks plain ugly then... i'd post some screen shots, but i wouldn't want to make the gaara fans scream and cry...
that's my two cents... sorry, i didn't mean to offend anyone, and if it did, that certainly wasn't my intention ne?

i for one knew this episode was going to be badly animated, it didnt really make it any less of an episode though
some people may call it a filler episode but you find out a very important thing, and this forum has no spoiler rules so i'll say it.
this episode is basically to tell us that Naruto and Neji were no good for the rank of chuunin, and that Shikamaru was - the rest was just buildup

i cant believe the bad animation is because of the budget. other, less popular animation produce way better animationm while the most popular anime atm, has a budget probler. yeah right!
i don't want it that every good fight thta shows up every 10 episodes or so is greatly animated, and the rest is just plain ugly. thats not cool. there may be no fighting, but that dousn't mean naruto can look ugly. i watch naruto mainly for the action, so basicly, i should not mind about the story, since i read the manga. but i do mind, since story is still important for those who havn't, and because naruto doesn't deserve this.

naruto fights were never really well animated
Sasuke gets all the good animation in battles such as vs Orochimaru and upcoming Gaara fight
lets just hope they dont screw with the hokage battle - its like the BEST battle of the series and if they screw it up i dont know how anyone will recover

the sasuke fight isnt that long its nothing to look forward to. its just some running around, pissing on lee(which he dont deserve) and a crazy gaara. its much better to look forward to the orochimaru vs. 3rd hokage fight and the naruto vs. gaara fight which will show all dumbasses that naruto is better and stronger than sasuke.

naruto usually only wins because hes meant to. the opponents always outstyle him and he wins just because he lasts - its like watching a fight where someone gets on and just is up against the ropes the whole fight then pulls one punch and wins, thats nothing compared to a even battle like Orochimaru vs the 3rd.
Orochimaru vs the 3rd beats naruto vs gaara on so many levels, even the flashbacks are better. I mean you get to see Orochimarus motivation and his twisted experiments, what more could you want to see?
another reason to hate Naruto fights is that the anime always sensationalizes them, expect naruto vs gaara to go for near 8 episodes

The Naruto vs Sasuke fight disagree's with you.
They exchange cool moves the entire fight, but naruto still comes out on top at the end. Theres no "stamina freak" plot device there at all.

I'm not that picky about animation all the time, but they did some really off things in this episode. Choji, Sakura, Lee, and Sasuke thier proportions were changing so many times. I think the wierd shots with gaara was they were trying emulate wide lens cameras. But they didn't use the effect properly, thus he looks like a massive head.
I guess the animation team wants to focus more on the big fights. Especially the ones coming up soon. But they really need to do some quality control.
Ending's ok, nothing great.

definitly...it was horrendus 0-0....and that demented look at sasuke when he arrived. It looked cool in the manga, and deformed when they animated.

I'm sure they'll put lots of effort into it and use their best animators......
They KNOW it's a major battle in the story and they'll make it good, you'll see.
We can probably expect the few episodes leading up to it to be slightly poor though. Oh well, it's the price we pay I guess.
