Not updated enough to know about Sakuragi (An-chan) from RAINBOW though.
Nor Izumi from Working!!
But easily got Azu-nyan (K-ON!). It didn't have to use up its 20 questions for this one.
He also got Bruce Lee in 10. Would have been even less if it was slightly smarter. He asked me if my char was dead, then asked me if he was still working.
I'm sure even Akinator can't think of a real working dead person.
Also got Senjougahara Hitagi (Bakemonogatari) on its first try.
It's interesting how sometimes it'll be seemingly lost by question 15 or so, but then nail it down completely in the last few questions. Sometimes it's even vague till the end and yet still...
I wonder if besides gathering a database of answers for each character, that Akinator also gets some sort of "profile" about each player, uses its history to see what sort of "person" is playing (eg celebrity-gossip type, mainstream-anime type), and use that to find the highest probable character from a shortlisted pool.

40 questions and it didn't guess Amane from Devil Surivor. But it did manage to get it as near as Yuzu from the same game.
I haven't tried anything as obscure as all that, but he's managed to guess most of mine within about 14 questions.

He got Britney Spears wrong, first it guessed Madonna, then Mariah Carrey, then Madonna again lol
It guessed schorindgers cat but it cant get schoridnger from hellsing :P
It didn't guess Dieter Dengler.
Werner Herzog made two movies about him: "Little Dieter Needs to Fly" and "Rescue Dawn".
It took 20ish to get Michiko, 10 to get Johnny Depp, scary!

It got Kat Stratford from 10 things I hate about you............... I'm officially freaked out now. And it got Natsume Soseki........ I'm REALLY freaked out. This thing knows everything.
It's not that hard to stump it.
Go on a run of Bravo TV celebrities. It didn't get Michael Kors (fashion designer), Taro Aso (former Japanese Prime Minister), Mannie from The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. But it did get Mike (the computer from the same novel) in 17 questions.
I also stumped it with Gurney Halleck (it guessed Leto Atreides) and Nico Minoru (Runaways),
I finally stumped him with porn.
I was thinking of Lily Thai and he thought it was Mika Tan. He finally got it after 26 questions.
I don't know if I should be satisfied or ashamed. I'm pretty sure I could stump him completely if I think of some no-name side character from an obscure movie or short lived tv show.
Edit: Finally stumped him with Vanessa Huxtable. That's not very obscure, but he guessed Rudy Huxtable, then Ashley Banks, then some little girl from My Wife and Kids.
How the hell do you know enough about porn stars to answer his questions? O_o
Most answers were "I don't know" or "Probably Partially" and he still eventually guessed her.
That's so not fair lol.
Wow... I didn't know I was so ugly... I was trying to see if this thing managed to guess myself... and fucking hell... it did. And with a perfect monkey photo of myself.

He got George Carlin right after 17 questions and for some odd reason the question is he a singer came up 3 times.
Nathan Drake after 17 also, and the last 3 made it obvious (use guns, main char of the game he appears in and an explorer).
He also got Kamen Rider W right after 32 questions after suggesting a few others Riders before him.
Just when I thought I had him, after his 40th question (and final guess), he got Asa Mizushima (Sora no iro, mizu no iro).
