Awesome. I cringed at 17:00 when I thought the rest would be recap, but the old toads were pretty cool. The female being all snappy while everyone's serious is fun to watch.
I don't get how Jiraiya managed to summon all those shadow clones with his hands clapped. He must have had to unclasp them at some point (toad-intestine summoning?), but even then I wasn't sure if he was a shadow clone himself.
I wonder if Tsunade's real form is just one fat slug....
those dog summons were scary
That was some high level summoning art in this episode. Summonings have actually been playing a major role in many of the high level fights in Naruto so in that sense it's not so strange Pain stuck to them so much. But the variety of his summonings for sure continues to surprise. He must have some personal killed technique as well, but I wonder if we are going to see it for a while.
Jolly good episode in any case. One helluva fight, but that's to be expected if it's Jiraiya's last one.
What a scary looking dude is Jiraiya... But we saw some great fights.
So those piercings do have something to do with techniques. I mean, is it just a coincidence that all the summoned creatures have piercing looking things in their body?
Jiraiya-boy... what shitty subs
No not at all. The elder toads are supposed to be extremely old, I forgot how old exactly, so even if Jiraiya is in his 50s he is still just a boy to them so they refer to him as Jiraiya-chan.Quote:

Don't you think there is too much going on for you to let something like Jiraiya-boy bother you.
Well those kinds of small things have a way of ruining the whole experience when lumped togetherQuote:

Also the who summoning and multiple bodies thing... I wonder if pain split out different types of ninjituse, so each body is a specialist in a specific thing even though they are all the 'same' ninja.
Oh well, I'll stop specing and go back to hiding in lurk for another few months now. :D
In the preview of next episode you can see Jiraiya becoming more toad-like. His hands and feets became froggy?...
Well, we witnessed Orochimaru also being a freaky snake. Jiraiya a toad, then there indeed is a big possibillity that Tsunade is a slimy slug...
Sage mode is visually kind of disappointing. But at least it kicked ass.
So...if we're to believe what Jiraiya is saying about the Rinnegan, it lets him 1. Learn every jutsu he's taught(not super impressive since Sharingan does the same thing) and 2. Use every element nature(and one they apparently haven't introduced yet since he said 6). That's much more impressive. Especially if he can mix the natures without a Kekke Genkai(which would be cool if he could).
I definitely think each of his bodies are going to have different techniques, but the fact that he can use more than one at a time is bad news for Jiraiya. He could be fighting 6 full powered ninja at the same time by the end.
I believe the translation most would have used for that would have been "Young Jiraiya" not "Jiraiya-boy".Quote:

That I disagree with. I really don't see the problem with the translation, where I grew up adding boy to someone's name or using boy to refer to any male younger than yourself was actually pretty common. It is not nearly as weird as you would think and if you picture Ma with a nice country twang as I imagine she should have, then it fits perfectly.Quote:

The sixth is ying and yang manipulation, it’s the base to all those clan jutsus like Shikamaru’s shadow jutsu or Chouji’s macdonald enlargement tech. They aren’t bloodline limit jutsus in the sense that you don’t have to be born with a specific body to use them, they are just secret jutsus that each clan preserves and only those inside the clan know how to use.Quote:

Great stuff although it went by too fast... half the ep was him preparing for a summon. At least we got to see sage mode in action for a bit, and damnnn that ma and pa combo was ruthless.
This arc rocks.
On the Jiraiya boy note, Yourichi does say Byakua Boy a number of times to tease Kuchiki.
Yeah. We get it. It's an honorary. We don't translate honoraries because they sound stupid in english. That's why any translator with any sense translates something like "Jiraiya-san" as "Mr. Jiraiya" or just Jiraiya and not "Jiraiya Older Guy".
Yes Sir, Mister DarthEnder Gramps! :)Quote:

what?Quote:

"Sebastian-boy" "Mike-boy" "Kevin-boy"
I don't believe you...why would someone call you like that.
Think of it as a shortened version of "Kevin, my boy"Quote:

it does seem kinda ridiculous to bother translating it if you're just gonna change it from -chan to -boy, it like whats the point? but i'd rather they do that than leave it out entirely. and having that at the end sounds so much better than say "lil jiraiya" would, imo. though i usually don't even pay attention to subs when people say names anyways, because my ears pick up the name and honorific, so i usually skim over the name in the subs (causing me to usually misspell/not know how to spell names xD).
but man! this episodes was amazing! the fights were so awesome!
can jiraiya really use shadow clones so effectively? i didn't think Kakashi could really even use shadow clones. and i know jiraiya is on a higher level than him, but still, he was flipping out not just like clones, but shadow clones everywhere. anyways, it made for an intense fight.
The only problem I had was how he can somehow form shadow clones without seals. Oro couldn't do squat when the Third screwed up his arms, but Jiraiya's clapping his feat and popping out shadow clones like it's nothing.
That's cool, I'm sure, but I could do with an explanation.
Come to think of it, it's not the first time they've stopped animating seals. Raikiri used to require one too. Now they get used on the fly.
I believe Abdula. I remember when I was a kid and read Garfield comics, whenever Jon would visit his farmer parents his dad called him Jon-boy. And I know I've heard that at least one other place on television also. I think one of those old western television shows like Bonanza. It damn sure does if you don't understand Japanese.Quote:

Kishimoto changed his mind about how Raikiri works when he introduced the Rasengan.Quote:

yeah, which is way the sharingan, and being able to break down what seals they're doing, is a valuable thingQuote:

Lets just assume Jiraiya master the technique of using feet seal.Quote:

Yeah. The whole idea of teaching Rasengan to Naruto was because he was too dumb to use seals, and it's mega-fast to use.Quote:

To be fair, for a manga, drawing handseals this late in the series is probably just a huge waste of space. It should be implied to take place between panels by now.Quote:

Something strange I noticed, Pain does not use blood to summon his summons, they just randomly appear at the location he wants. In part one and recently when Suigetsu summoned Manda it was said you need your blood to summon something.
I have the feeling Pain will be perfect at everything, summons, elemental jutsus, eye jutsus etc. He will be very balanced, till now all the akatsuki members have been one trick ponies with the exception of Kakuzu.
Madara will be very strong but I doubt he’ll be much different from Itachi in terms of the arsenal both possess.
Sure he will. He's a lot older than Itachi and probably also better connected and travelled. He has had plenty of time to steal new jutsu with his sharingan and perfect them as much as he wanted. The way he sneaked around as Tobi proves he's not satisfied with sitting around on his throne blindly trusting in his existing powers to conquer all.Quote:
