So...they're like mix 'n matching suits now?Quote:
Gundam 00 Quanta, Setsuna’s unit. Exia’s lineage. It has binders and shield on its left shoulder, as well as numerous Funnels (informal name).
Gundam Harut, Allelujah’s unit. Harut and Marut are two angels mentioned in the Qur’an. The Gundam has a visor like the Astraea and the GN Archer. It can transform.
Gundam Zabaniya, Lyle’s unit. The Zabaaniyah are the gardians of Hell in the Qur’an. Looks like a close-combat unit. It has a slim torso and big legs like the Virtue. It carries a “GN Armor lite” on its back.Main weapon : Double hand gun.
Gundam Raphael, Tieria’s unit. See the Archangel Raphael. It has wired cannons in its fingers (like the Belphegor Gundam) and 4 cannons on its shoulders.
all i know is, while i am a little curious to see how this thing ends, i have absolutely zero motivation for going and coughing up the $15 USD to see this movie when it airs here. even after whole heartily enjoying portions of the series, the way the series ended and my overall feelings about the 00-verse hasn't sold me on it.
it's like i watched a 18 hour trailer/preview, and it STILL didn't sell me on the movie...
This is the only thing that makes me want to see the movie.Quote:

Anyway it, I think it looks cool, a bash of Exia and 00's design.

The backpack looks so retarded. It also looks like Tieria's piloting it through Veda

Where's Soma's Suit?

Hmm... It looks like it's missing the TDS
I have a feeling that we're going to have the oppisite with this suit as opposed to Teiras other suits; he will pilot the smaller Gundam while having a bigger one on reserve.Quote:

Those graphical designers looked like a lively bunch of people. Too bad the actual movie material didn't reveal anything more than the still shots already presented in this thread earlier. More like a teaser than a trailer, really.
I wanted to see Soma...
As much as I'd like to see Soma, I'm really interested in seeing how Felt x Setsuna are going, given how randomly slotted-in their relationship is.
Oh, and Tieria x little girl, maybe they talk on IRC. :p
Screw Felt and Mileina, Setsuna x Gundam and Teiria x Veda are the OTP's of the 00 universe! Marie x Allelujah and Lockon x Anew and Saji x Louise should have filled the quota for traditional romance stories already!!!
In other news WOOT main character bits/funnels/DRAGOON's. Nothing says broken like Epic plot armor and multiple independent attack devices.
Setsuna's new suit's shield looks like it opens into Freedom Wings. >_>
Someone pointed out to me that if you look on the back of Harute, there looks to be something that resembles a GN Archer. So, Soma could very well be in there afterall.Quote:

There's a new Flag and GN-X variant in the behind the scenes too.
I thought someone posted this bit of information in this thread but I cant seem to find it. In anycase, apparently one of the papers in the trailer says "Flag, Setsunna Custom" or something along those lines.

00 Qan[T]: I'm really loving it's simple yet elegant design (Kudos to Ebikawa). It looks like it's GN Fang rack can swivel from left to right. And the rumors are right, the second GN Drive is mounted on the "sheild" with the swivel arm linking it to the other for the Twin Drive System.
Zabanya: Thank goodness the box feet from Cherudim are gone. Looks good but those equipments, which looks like weapons containers, sticking out of it's ass looks awkward.
Harute: "What happened to the 0-Riser?" I guess this will answer that question <_<. I guess the design may grow on me.
Raphael: I really hope those things on the shoulders are parts to form another MS. It better have those obscure equipments like extra arms. It's not a Tieria Erde Gundam without those!
I'm pretty sure that they are armor parts. It looks to me like they are (in S1 therms) a Nadleeh to Virtue conversion. So instead of purging armor, it actually attaches to it.Quote:

Gotta admit, theres a few wtf revalations in this trailer. O_o
God I really loved the Gundam 00 series more that any of the other ones. Hope the movie is good, I really loved the 2nd op by Ash Like Snow.
Ash Like Snow was certainly an enjoyable song. If I had to pick my favourites though, I'd have to take the EDs. Protype, Trust You and Friends top my list.
We got a title for the movie now: "A wakening of the Trailblazer"

Not enough Soma :(
YAY! Graham and Setsuna fights, I have always enjoyed their rivalry its like a knight vs a samurai. Setsuna also has fangs! and the new models look bad ass though, especially Hallelujah's.

Updated Script (Fake movie segment w/literal subs)
Updated Script (Fake movie segment played straight)
Dang... wish I had seen this post earlier so I could have let it downloading at home and watch tonight :(
i think we're being trolled pretty hard with this release.
and it also feels like this movie is complete and utter ridiculous bullshit.
i'm going to wait for a group that isn't a bunch of immature trolls to release this. then i'm probably going to hate it anyway...
Did gSS troll the script or some such?
I've seen a small part of what I downloaded but the subs look normal.
EDIT: I see that they didn't translate some words like kisame-ra and ore-tatsi. Also...Celestial Being is something completely different now. They just translated how it sounds....
Those kind of translations were only in the first few minutes. You'll kind of understand it after the first scene. After that the translations are normal and are pretty good.
No he's right it's only the first few minutes that's used.
Anyway, just finished it. I'll reserve my comments in order not to "spoil" it for those who haven't watched it yet.
My favorite part of the movie was when Setsuna pretended he was in the Turn-A and teleported away so he could return lated as an ageless albino, and then the aliens turned into a giant space flower.
Haku told me to change to the second "boring" subtitle track. That one's fine.
Movie comments follow:
-------------------------------------------------
Overall I found this movie alright. There were things I did like, and things I didn't that roughly balanced it out to "meh".
- Aliens: During Ribbons Almark vs Setsuna, I got T-1000 vibes. Since that part, I had a feeling that these guys were awfully familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then, during the final parts of the movie it hit me. Fafner. Those guys screamed Fafner aliens to me, and that isn't a good thing. In general I just hate the mindless, assimilating, formless aliens who are waiting to be understood. There's no dialogue or development till the very end, which tends to be lackluster anyway. You fight swarms and swarms of these things (and it doesn't matter what they are, really, be it metal, silicon, or chunks rock) until someone tells them to stop.
I don't feel any tension or drama from that. On the other hand, the whole unmanned vehicle accidents and pseudo-Ribbons attacks were my favourite. At least those guys look and feel evil. The Hallelujah dodging scene at the power plant was arguably the best scene in this movie.
- Characters in the show: I didn't feel anything for most of them. The Mina girl confused the hell out of me since I thought she was Nina Trinity the whole time. Shaman Innovator guy could have been a decent villian (he had the looks, even if his evilness was cookie-cutter labrat style),but his role ended up being near-totally disposable, save for telling us the rest of mankind are evolving.edit: on second thought, that's important for the story. I just felt he could have been more. Graham - what's his deal in this story again? As for Setsuna, I never liked him taking the Superman role ever since the second season of 00 with his 00-Raiser + hacks. He just doesn't shine. Nothing about him is likeable, really.
Except his gundam.
There were ones I did like though.
Tieria - man, this guy went from being a complete asshole in S1 to being pretty badass since S2 onwards. I smiled when Desu-girl declared her love for him. About time he gets something back.
Mr Invincible - aka ACE of the EU, or Mr always-gets-shot-down. I don't care if he's just comedy relief. That guy's got style, and totally owns Mannequin. That guy's the luckiest bastard in this whole series.
S2 favourites were Al and Soma, but they were done like 5 episodes in. They've been side characters ever since. Nothing ever happens with them anymore.
Mobile Suits - my main gripe is the lack of discrimination between them all. It was going that way in S2, and now they finished it. Flag, A-Laws, Gundams, they're all the same. They've all got GN drives, all got GN fields and all have beam cannons. No suit had any tactical advantage over another and just turned out into one big shootout
Even if you say Lockon isn't as good at his brother, you didn't have to give him indiscriminate shooting did you? I laughed pretty hard at that one.
Al without Hal is just mediocre. (the dialogue before going into six-eye-mode was so weird it has hilarious).
Veda being used like a public library was another strange turn of events - the new peace administration is so unrealistically unselfish.
Action was good. One would expect nothing less from theatrical Sunrise release.
As a movie being the final chapter to the 00 franchise, I can't say it did badly in wrapping up all the loose threads - in fact, I think it managed to get them all. But inorganic, assimilating aliens?
..I couldn't bring myself to care.
Don't forget Trans Graham now! That made me laugh out loud when I read it.
Awesome action scenes with a terrible junk ending. I'm gonna pretend this never existed. :(
Except Mina. I want her.
@Buff - The pattern for any gundam series is similar to what you described. The more the gundams get advanced, the more similar they become and the less tactical the battles end up.
Gundam shows generally go downhill in terms of quality.
You mean because it never had tactics in the first place?
Well, yeah.
I'm not saying it's bad, but it certainly isn't your usual gundam fare, much like 8th MS team.
So I watched the movie this morning. I liked it. It did indeed wrap up all the loose ends nicely, however, the issue of Setsuna's love interests could have probably been handled in a much less forced manner(but that would have had to have started in season 2, which it barely touched on at all).
Edit: I just noticed that all the Gundams are twin drives. Intresting.
I only now watched the movie. I didn't even mind the joke subs in the beginning because it became more than obvious very quickly it wasn't the real deal. I mean, even if you forget the subs completely, the scenes and action was like from a parody film. I can't believe how Masa got so trolled...
The first half was a lot better than the second, for reasons Bill already listed. As long as it seemed there might have been something behind the attacks it piqued interest but as soon as it was made evident it's nothing but a faceless hivemind, it fell flat. Especially practically knowing how it would necessarily need to end this belonging to the 00 greater story.
Not a movie to watch for a second time but I didn't get bored as such thanks to the good animation and the few decent characters. Still, I would have liked to see Al and Soma with a child... But at least we got another death escaping scene by Patrick 'Indestructible' Colasour. That guy is a hilarious idiot. Almost made up for Ali's absence.
Oh god I just watched this movie it was so bad.
Dammit why did you have to remind me of my disappointment.
...Did the producers seriously just realize, "shit we have 3 minutes to wrap up this movie. Cut the battle scene, insert giant flower. Yeah that makes enough sense. Yeah we'll go with that."
I am in a state of absolute confusion.
Please, this movie sucked donkey balls.
I said it wasn't enjoyable.
However, I did give it credit for what it did well - tying off 00.
I don't think I left much unsaid in one of my previous posts.
Are you serious? What was the giant flower? How did they get the big metal things to stop? wut?
This movie wasn't that bad. It just feels terrible for you guys because y'all didn't spend an hour after a movie analyzing the finer details of the story.
The big metal things stopped after Setsuna warped to their homeworld and integrated with them - showing them and conversing with them about the human world. The aliens seemed to be able to assimilate, but never communicate. It seems that Setsuna was able to maintain his sense of self when he integrated with them.
As for the flower, that can take on a few meanings:
-Life: The flower was a motif in the earlier parts of when Setsuna was unconscious and wandering around the earth, watching everyone fighting and putting forth effort in order to live. It was also a replica of the space-flower, which in turn was symbolism for Felt, who brought Setsuna "back to life".
-Change: Change in order to live was the last thought Setsuna had before he woke from his slumber. Lockon asked Setsuna to change in place of him (who could not drop his previous hatred and understand/encompass all those around him). Setsuna himself has indeed changed, and back in Gundam 00 S2 Episode 22, he probably wouldn't have accepted that flower from Felt (being the self-centric, stubbon brat he was at the beginning of the series), nor attempted to understand and consider her feelings. FYI the title of Gundam 00 S2 Episode 23 is "Flower of Life".
One can also take it as that the ELS themselves were capable of change, and changed their form to something that humans could understand.
The above meanings can be derived from the series/movie alone. However, I do believe the true meaning can only be felt after reading the movie prologue chapter that bridges the gap between S2 and the movie.

00 was also split well into 3 parts - S1, S2, Movie
World politics: Unite the 3 powers of the world with each other -> Unite conservative humanity with Innovadors -> Unite humanity with extra-terrestrial life.
Technology: Develop the quantum particles to produce Innovators -> develop the 00 engine to allow for quantisation/thought transmission -> Develop a warp engine to use all of the above for the "dialogue to come".
As a movie, it had its shortcomings. I really didn't care for half the shit that happened (aka anything outside of beams and missiles and Soma).
As a finishing piece to the whole series? I have to applaud it. It puts an entirely different (and revealing) spin on Aeolia Schoenberg's plans and the purpose of Celestial Being.
It's the ELS' way of saying:
I really don't get why some people can't get the purpose of the giant space flower. Sure, it looks stupid but it made sense.Quote:
-"Oh, assimilating things is bad? Let's tell them we're sorry."
-"But we can't communicate with them!"
-"Then let's tell that guy who can we communicate with we're sorry."
-"Umm... he just left."
-"Then what are we supposed to do?!"
-"Hey, when we read that guy's mind, there's this soft radial yellow thing-y that keeps popping out. It seems that, to him this, this is the symbol for peace."
-"Let's use that shape!"
*ELS Mothership transforms to a giant space flower*
-"This looks gay... Oh wait it's working!"
And they lived happily ever after... The End.
And if you're still confused or have more questions, I suggest that you listen to Gundamn!@MAHQ's episode 70 podcast.
Yeah. They learn how something work by assimilating it. That's why they were able to replicate Earth's weapons, mobile suits and even people (the Ribbons clone and even Shaman in the manga). What they didn't know was assimilation is a bad thing for living things.
This made me want to puke
Personally, I loved the movie with the exception that they dont show what happens to everyone afterwards.
I saw this yesterday. God this shit was bad. Sentient pieces of scrap metal is bad enough, but the ending was even more retarded. Actually the whole movie was awful except for the revised Gundams.
