"Everyone will watch if that's our title"
"Light music club castanets"
The main lead is awesome
"It's simple just don't get fat"
Definitely going to be following this.
rofl man this was awesome.
from the reactions i had heard i really wasn't expecting much, and i was expecting really bad parodies and references and stuff, but it was actually really fun to watch.
though i was expecting the guy to go with the harem approach a little more subtly.. but as is, i like it.
lol
"evolution"
"that was so bad, don't even mention it"
"i believe the current fad is Umineko, not Higurashi"
"don't you think i'm better than one of those indecisive male characters? from the very beginning i wanted a harem ending"
xD
Loved the first ep, fourth wall shattering anime have long held a place of honor on my watch list. I just hope focus stays more on the comedy and the harem end than on any lovey dovey stuff with just one girl.
hopefully he'll break each of the girls over the course of the series, and he really will get that harem ending xD.
Fuck your fourth wall.
There is a definition for this kind of anime: Quality Entertainment
This was bloody fantastic.
The Amazon's review cracked me.
"Then lets get Seven..."
"Evolution"
"How do you write Yuutsu?"
"Contact me if you are an alien, esper or time traveler"
"I'm the kind of girl who puts off work to update a wiki strategy guide"
Bloody fantastic.
Kurimu and Minatsu are my favorite.
Was GG's quality any good? I was turned off because the episode was only 90 freaking megs. I downloaded CxCDoremi's version... but the video quality was crap.
This isn't really the kind of a show that would shine with its graphics, which probably explains most of the small file size. Who knows what manner of a source the groups were forced to use. When I saw the file size, I thought this would be an exceptional series running only 15 minutes episodes. But anyway, the gg video quality was quite decent. It's SD in any case. Reminds me of a couple of years ago when CrystalNova's encoder wanted to produce Aria eps no more than 100 MB with no quality loss (according to his multiple tests). He didn't because it would have looked too suspicious to downloaders.
The first episode was quite entertaining. I'll wait to see more, but these jokes tend to get old fairly quickly. Since there doesn't seem to be much of an overall plot holding this together, I'm not too optimistic.
That said, it'd be great if it can break my expectations.
(I felt dumb having to watch "Evolution" twice before I got the reference)
the best first episode of a show i've watched for this new season. the humor is dead on. the fact that the whole show is cognizant of anime/manga/otaku culture and the various tropes and cliches that compose it makes this biting humor even stronger.
characters are a bit 'rehashed archetypes', but it is nice to see the only guy being a shameless flirt. i also really like how Aka-chan (nice double gag there, being not only 'Little Red' but the more common word for 'baby') interacts with the Secretary chick.
rare that i say i'm on board for a show like this, but i couldn't get any more in even if i used a crowbar.
Just as good as the first ep. That's naturally good news increasing the chances the show can stay interesting till the end.
Aka-chan really got bullied this time.
Eclipse is better than gg right?
Lol this show earned a special spot in my heart the moment it dissed on DB evolution, i'll definitely be watching this
I haven't watched the latest episode yet. In general, Eclipse had better translators/editors/QCers than gg.Quote:

Eclipse translated well, but didn't convey the humour in English as well as gg did.
Not that comparison does much good anymore.
plus there's the whole fact that gg dropped it because Eclipse picked it up. so even if gg had a better first episode, you gotta go with Eclipse for the rest
When in doubt, hug.
LOL... Alice, Ryuuk and Edward...
fairly strong second episode, although now that some of the character tics/trademarks are repeating themselves, it is a little less so. it will be interesting to see if this show can keep things fresh enough, without having to revert to craptacular "story arcs" or episodics.
really begs the age old question: how much can you do with 5 characters trapped in a room together?
i enjoyed that they went for a near subversion of "time to learn a lesson at the end of the episode". Chizuru is a freaking awesome character, really shining this episode.
i have to admit, i like this show a lot, even if it is sorta like the Family Guy of moe, high school anime.
The greatest problem I have with shows like this is whether to pause the video and think/read the subs thoroughly, or just let it flow. The latter seems to be more enjoyable.
But yeah, this episode was fairly hilarious.
i agree, with a slight caveat. i tend to apply a viewing method that was forced upon me by the great Zetsubou-sensei. i'll watch the episode continuously the first time. and, if it's really good enough, i'll watch it again (sometimes in the same sitting), but stopping and pausing at all the subtitled text.Quote:

Hmm, I didn't recognise as many cameos this time round. Was that a Hisoka one there? Or just ending sentences with a high, creepy voice?
Wait, did they just try to make a serious episode?
I don't think I laughed once watching this episode. I wonder if this show can last.
Although I don't think they tried to make a serious episode.
Unlike the previous ep, this was again quite funny. Even if Sugisaki had to suffer double the amount for that entertainment. Poor fellow. I had seen some screenshot of the Strike Witches scene before but it was still bloody funny. The development of Echo of Death from the deadly action scene to the BL scene was also interesting in a disturbing way.
lol, this ep was pretty good. i liked the strike witches reference, and the yaoi xD
So how many references were there this time? I only got the K-ON! one
Strike Witches was copied almost frame by frame. If you haven't seen it, you may as well give it a try. It is full of loli and pantsu, which I imagine you would enjoy.
/me nods in shame ;__;Quote:

KON's parody made me fall in laughter.
And disturbing yaoi made me lol.
finally saw episode 03. and, fuck, i was pretty disappointed. drama alone isn't going to keep my interests. it's not why i'm watching this show...
Watch episode 4 to alleviate your disappointment.
Fanservice galore !
The locker-expressions were hilarious, particularly the twist.
Minatsu.... I want a Minatsu... o.o
lol, this episode was pretty good. when aka was talking about making the tunnels in the sandbox xD
I said it last week... and I repeat this week.
Minatsu is my favorite female in this show. Definitely. And Sugisaki never fails to make me lol. Metal Gear Sugisaki... lol.
I've also said it before and i'll say it again, this show should learn to play its strengths and try to stay away from any remotely serious plot points
The jokes were fun but the whole "i'm moving away" was so cliché and uninteresting, even more so since it was so clearly obvious that they wouldn't cut the harem in half by episode 6
As long as the episodes get centered on Minatsu its fine by me.
Sadly, next week preview indicates the contrary.
... that "mokyu" was pretty darn adorable
What IS vocaloid exactly? I keep hearing about it but i never got what it was
Rofl, that was great. Mafuyu the weakest RPG character and Monster Hunter Mafuyu, nice.
Was surprised at the Mokyu Chizuru.

Chizuru is great.
"Sorry,I muttered" would have to be my favourite cameo so far. It actually fitting into context made it all the better.
I didn't like it so much, except for Mokyu~!
That is just the definition of MOE.

You may want to have some tissues at arm's reach before watching this one
Already seen the raw about a week ago, so I ran out of tissues to prepare for this version.
rofl "minatsu, call the police" xD
awesome to see Lilicia again :D. and her loli sister was pretty awesome.
Though I liked seeing them get back to the whole "harem ending" thing, that whole "but you said you'd reject me if i got fat" drama seriousness felt really forced... I didn't like it.
but at least it showed some development and confirmation that he is breaking the girls...
The first half of this episode was funnier than the second half, primarily due to Elise-chan's active involvement. I think it started tapering off when Aka-chan started showing off her superpowers.
She seems to have a better command of vocabulary than her sister.
episodes 7 and 8 saved this show for me. i was contemplating dropping it, because i really don't care about the cookie-cutter characters and their drama. 7 and 8 had lots of laughs, and i particularly liked the way they did the ghost stories and the "what's in your bag?" scene. of course, Elise was just so wrongly funny also that i could forgive Aka-chan's idiocy taking over the later part of the episode.
guess i will be sticking around for this after all
I'm going to assume that the scene in the beginning really happened and wasn't just some imagined scenario. There was no explanation though, so we're left guessing at what must have been troubling Ken.
The first part wasn't very funny and the second one was emo and annoying
It's like they have this rule that you can't have 2 good episodes in a row so they jump around between good humor and shitty high school drama
By all means this wasn't the most hilarious episode to date, but I didn't find that to be a letdown. We have Minato's little backstory of what the Student Council means to her, and this time we got to see Chizuru's side of things.
Mafuyu would get her episode too judging from the trends, but I can't really see anything troubling her other than an undefeatable Final Boss.
This certainly wasn't an overly comedic episode. I also thought the beginning was a part of some fancy fiction again, like we have seen before, but it indeed seemed like real history. Although it's hard to imagine what could have troubled Ken that much.
At least there were a few good scenes scattered here and there.
I'm not on it for the backstory or the pseudo teenage drama, i'm in it for the lols and in that this episode failed miserably
Again i stress this, if i want drama i'll go watch a slice of life anime but what i was "promised" from the first episode was mindless comedy with a side of funny anime references
I wish the producers recognized their target audience once and for all and worked on it instead of trying to be all over the place and failing on both fronts
I for one actually liked some of this back story. While I feel they may have been overly dramatic in presentation, inserting a bit of character development here and there is hardly a bad thing. I wouldn't want flat characters without any deeper personalities running around doing gags the whole time.
Does the fact that he opened up to Mokyu~ mean that he is closest to her among all the girls? Or is it simply because she is the only one who he thinks will understand? Is there even a difference between these two possibilities?
I think, in general Chizuru understands Prez and Ken the best, though I'm not sure if this is simply due to her more mature nature. I didn't include Mafutu and Minato because being sisters, one would expect them to understand each other the most.Quote:

I actually don't mind a bit of seriousness in the series, but yes... the best part of it are its constant jokes and parodies.
And Im still loony for Minatsu. I LOLed when she pushed Kurumi trying to cover her own jealousness.
strangely, after complaining and complaining and complaining some more about the angst/drama that this show fluctuates in on at least a monthly basis, i enjoyed this episode. i think it was because Chizuru is such a mysterious character that i was genuinely interested to see what her ghosts from the past were, and how she would deal with it.
but, seriously, what kind of people react like this? we're talking biblical levels of calm, forgiveness, and sincerity. in high schoolers. in what's supposed to be a comedy.
i also think i am fine with this being a serious episode because i have a dose of comic relief on tap with a freshly downloaded episode of Nyan Koi
Chizuru is THE money scammer.
And looks like Sugisaki was right on with his novel a few eps ago. Where in his story Mafuyu didnt wear panties and turns out...she really doesn't.
Kamina FTW

WHAT AN ENDING!!
The ending was indeed surprising but i was so bored by the time we got to it that i really didn't care that much
Ready for this show to be over, i'll archive it out of pity

They're stupid and pointless, but I still enjoy them. It's a witty sort ot pointless, not unlike Ken himself.
And who didn't think that first smack came from Minatsu?
Most people don't really enjoy wit. I love it though.Quote:

Why can't you change your mindset now? If I remember correctly we had a previous thread about series that change their genre halfway through. This isn't the same, but it's nothing new for series to take a sudden turn at times. As long as it doesn't turn to crap, I can generally like things for what they are.Quote:

At first I was a bit confused about that whole snow sequence. During the episode though, they told us that Mafuyu operates on a blog site and may even have a degree of fame on the internet. Ken probably consulted her (known as Yuki), and decided to meet her IRL. Turned out she was late (or he was early), and Student Council Ken + Online Persona = Mafuyu confession.
I always thought Mafuyu was really cute (in general, I think I like her even more than Chizuru). This episode only solidified that fact.
you know, I really enjoyed the first half of the ep (mafuyu on tsundere and yandere was funny. and *pulls out bloomers* "call the police"). yeah, it was great. but the second half, other than having Lilicia (easily my favorite character ;)), I wasn't really interested :\. but dang it, then Mafuyu comes in at the end and I'm like "BEST EP OF THE SERIES!!"
and is this series 12 or 13 eps?
12 episodes.
^dang it, beat me to it :p
Nice way to wrap things up and not at the same time. Their line of 'nothing happens in this series' fits very well, and yet I can't stop loving what this series did or didn't.
that was a pretty good ending. after they moved on from Mafuyu's confession into "what do you want to be?" I got disappointed, but then they brought in Nekameguro or whatever his name was, and it got awesome xD. then they wrapped it up seriously, and I think it worked.
Talk about your reset endings, and this one managed to reset itself in the first 5 minutes
I guess it wasn't half bad, but i still wish that Eclipse had picked up a different show this season ( /me looks fiercely at Railgun )
I wish eclipse had taken Railgun and still had done this show.
Fuck that stupid agreement with other groups. If they are going to do such agreements, at least do it with good groups. Not GG and Ayako.
