This entire arc is the exact same plot outline of the Soul Society invasion transposed over Hueco Mundo, and this latest development fits pretty much perfectly.
To be honest, I like it a lot better than the SS arc, even though the concept is the same. I'm excited to see where this will lead us into.

At least Nell didn't start out as something stupid like a cat. Then we'd have a complete clone of the soul society arc again.
An observation i made though, aren't hollows by nature supposed to be deprived and evil souls devoid of the kindness they had as humans, yet for some reason, Nell and her gang seem to be pretty happy and crap as hollows.
