Here's the link to it, its subbed by Bakakozou
http://animesuki.com/group.php/438.html
never seen the original... guess i have to get that once my incredibly slow EXO-squad dl is finished...
I think the TV series is actually a prequel, so you might not need to watch the original...
I've heard the series takes place at or very near modern day, and I know the movie takes place in the 1960's at an American Air Base. I'd be willing to bet you'd probably be okay not watching the movie, there really isn't all the much that actually takes place. The best part of it was it was both in english and japanese when it was originally produced. All they did to bring it over was sub the opposing language.
I dont like how she looks now compared to movie? In which she looked awesome.
Also it looks to bright for vamp show but hopefully they will make it good anyway.
You found Exo-Squad episodes? Where from?Quote:

I have to disagree, I like the way she looks now better. Though I hope that the series really doesn't ruin the Blood name. I want some GORE!
The RAW is out.
Blood+ 01 RAW
this replaces GSD right? in the time slot?
^^ yes
Who is subbing this?
Bakakozou is right now, but I hope some other groups start. This looks real promising.
Anime-Kraze all the way
Anime-Kraze is better indeed. I'll wait for theirs.Quote:

blood + live-evil
EDIT: saw the epi..
whow this anime is BRUTE... and subs are good just like DB...
can someone tell me if i have to watch the last vampire to get this anime..??
Yeah, Live-Evil did a pretty good job with episode 1. Does anyone know where to download the movie? I checked Boxtorrents but I couldn't find anything.
EDIT: Found it...guess I didn't check properly .
boxtorrents has it... search better
Just watch the first episode.....Damn that was good....GOD DAMN that was good. Can't wait for more.
ya i just watched the first eps to and damn it was good!
The animation in this show is really solid, but I wasn't all that impressed with the first episode. I'm willing to watch a few more before I really make a judgement though.
I agree, she looks great in the movie. She was so cold blooded. I cant remember waht kind of sword she used to kill those monsters.Quote:

Anyway the first episode looked promising. Waiting for the next one.
She just used a regular katana.
OVA SPOILERS BELOW:
Her first one broke from cutting up so many chipteroens (whatever, that word is too hard to spell, you'll figure it out) and the gov't guy had to buy her a new one. Somehow she got her hands on a good sword before the end of the movie. That one wasn't in the movie. I think this series goes back to her origins itself, preceding 1881 or whenever the photo of her they showed at the end was was taken.
Personally I like the way she looks in the series. She looks similar enough and she looks a whole lot happier now. One of the problems I had with the OVA was how hateful she looked all the time (though understandably so).
Oh man, was the movie really that ugly? I didn't remember it as that bad. The series first ep was much nicer. Didn't really enjoy the first ep a lot though, nothing much happened and one didn't even get an introduction of the series potential.
That is the reason I will stick around for another few eps
the movie wasnt all that interesting either(it was rather boring)
but at least the anime will give us some info on it(b/c that movie gave me nothing in terms of whats going on)
I never expect anything from OVAs, at least storywise... I just take it for what it was... one kickass character, and some kickass action...
True, the animation and fighting was soo smooth. Who cares about the storyline when you have great action sequences. Anyway I hope this series give us decent story as well as some action.
I watched the first ep just cause it was new and being hyped up on gf as such a great show but I wasn't really into it. I'll watch some more but prob drop it like I did 3shows from last season.
just watched the first episode, the opening scene was sick, i loved it. i own the movie, its way too short but the fight scenes where great.
About the anime, they did a great job on the details on Okinawa, that place where the guy was playing his cello .. the details about the place was almost perfect, in fact i saw one store that still stands today and has the same name but spelled diffrently, about 4 stores down from there u can buy illegal weapons like butterfly knife, sharpen ninja stars even flash bangs and nightvisions goggles, lol, anyway cant wait for the next one.
Shinsen-Subs realeased Episode 1:
http://bt3.shinsen-subs.org:69...0fc0ec337ff7b9.torrent
Episode 1 gets two thumbs up! Opening scene was sick as hell and I don't even mind the totally converted from my past life hero with amnesia.
I'm tuning in for the next episode, anyone have any idea how long this series is planned to be?
This site here is saying 52 episodes.Quote:

Great first episode btw!
If the series is 52 episodes long then its great news. That means we will get a detailed story and hopefully plenty of action and gore.
Shinsen-fansub has picked up this series. They arent bad either.
from the screen shots i saw, their encoding was kinda bad (which is usually the only thing i've liked about them at times)... i'm still gonna wait for kraze...
Or for bakakozou, if they don't crap the release as Black Cat was... though i'm sure Y won't let that happen
Bakakozou would be a good choice. Kraze takes too long to sub.
from the current subbers, you can be asured that live-evil will give you accurate translations

uhm...why do you know this?
good episode... although not as good as people were saying... it was an okay intro. oh and i just watched the movie before watching this and well, the movie plays out as an extended intro and is pretty good at that!
I know because i lived in the Land of the rising sun,i bought from the store before, that place where she was walkin its not even a 10 min walk from the 2nd gate of Kadena Air Force Base and there is like only one place in Okinawa that has a One way street like that where metal poles are the perimeter of the place. The Military nicknamed that place "busy street" because its always busy, even though there not allowed there after 8pm. It is a famous chill place in Okinawa maybe thats why they showed it.Quote:

uhm...why do you know this?
Even though the movie was set at a different Airbase, but according to episode 1 she lives in Okinawa. The movie was at Mainland, either Kyoto or Yokota, forgot. cheers!
The first ep wasn't bad, but I had no idea what was going on in the end. The cello dude shows up, she gets her teacher, he's killed by someone, and the vampires show up. Now, is the cello dude with the vampires or what? And what the hell were they doing in the dark? There's these disgusting dripping/things being torn apart noises, he has something in his hands? She's yelling stop, and then... they're kissing? With a monster standing in the corner of the room? WTF?
And I restate my previous doubts about a mysterious cello player. Flute, yes. Piano, yes. Violin, yes. Even saxaphone would be ok. But what kind of mystery man plays a freaking cello???
All the creepy vampire men play the cello, because of its full bodied and soothing sound. Though I am amazing he can play it when he banadages up his freak hand.
Since Saya is a vampire, we know that if you've seen the movie, plus there are tons of hints in the first eps, no weight gain from food, goes to the hospital for blood transfusions, etc. But with the flashbacks intersperced in the first eps, it got the impression the creepy cello guy was actually the person that turned her. He fed her his own blood through that kiss. Apparently that does something, because the cut on her face healed.
She probably had to be 'awaken' again, drinking some blood from that guy is a possibilty. Also, wondering about Kai, how he'll react to Saya being a vampire. There is nice blood content also.
Episode 2 is about, but haven't gotten that yet, and by watching the first episode, it seems good hopefully it'll get better, which I think it will, as this is only an introduction, and you haven't seen her use any vampire abilities as of yet. At the start I thought she was putting the jumping act on, like you see her jump but not that high, I thought she was trying to be a normal high school girl or something.
Continuing from my previous post:
That jump is another thing that hints at her superior abilities. I thought 'almost two meters' was a little abnormal for a high school women's high jump, and it turns out it is. Apparently the high jump record for Texas (thanks Google) is 1.93 meters. Saya just missed 2 meters. I had the same impression as Kai at first. I thought she was faking a little bit, even though that whole image really didn't fit the image we all got from the movie.
I'm guessing her abilities were stunted somehow, but they still were fairly superior. After the 'transfusion' she'll be even stronger.
Raw is out for Blood+ 02

Ep 2 by Live Evil
I didn't like the first ep much, gonna give it another go.
Officially makes up for the entire movie (which I did like, but wasn't great), and becomes the best (serious) vampire anime I've seen, all in the first 4 minutes.
The series isn't all action, and I'm glad it isn't. There's a lot of good character dynamics to go into, and Blood+ does them in a smooth way that naturally flows from one to the next. Not fast paced, not slow paced, but just the right one for this kind of series.
I did finally remember why she was so pissed off in the movie all the time though. I'll let a few more people take the time to watch this eps and maybe see the movie if they haven't seen that.
This show is really good. There was just enouph action to keep me watching and wanting more. I cant
wait untill the next episode next week. Saya kicks ass and that sword was nice.
I only have two problems with this show right now...
First, I thought the animation when they faught would've been better...
Second, the VA's suck, especially when Kai is screaming...
Also, it seems when Saya awakens she starts talking in English, it'll be interesting if they can pull that off correctly...
Well, the movie was bilingual, so I wasn't really surprised about that.
I have no problem with the rest of the voicework, but Kai does suck.
Dunno why I just don't like the musician, Saya seems cool(not Shana cool) enough to keep me watching. Only way I see it making it in my top 5 list is if Trinity Blood or Basilisk finish.
Bilingual??
there was a higher percentage of english in it than the first Kill Bill movie...
oh and who said that there wasn't enough Gore in the series????
I'm still willing to stick with this show. I feel it's got a lot of elements in place that could make it really entertaining in the long run. I also feel like the action will pick up as well.
Cello guy is pretty cliche, standard cookie-cutter "Tall dark and handsome sad guy who kicks major ass".
I can only wonder how the guy connected with the 'Mouse' project can't keep a lid on those things. 2 escapees? You'd think they'd keep something like those on completele lockdown on the bottom levels of Area 51... He also seems oblivious to Saya and the Cello player even existing... Both their blood could be found at the school in the room the Mouse was killed in....

maybe he simply doesn't care about their existence... maybe the mice are much more important!
So are the mouse things like another horribly gone wrong experiments kind of thing, because thats what it seems like they are, but i dont know, guess we have to wait and see, probably they tried to fuse vampires blood into a human body or something and got a human transforming into a very ugly bat with no wings. I wonder if they explained it in the movie, i forgot. The next couple of episode will tell if this series will be great, i like it so far. oh and that beach they were at, thats a fuck fest at night
W00T!! Episode 3 is from from Shinsen-Subs
Episodes 2 and 3 were a bit slow. Some facts were reveled about Saya's and the family she is living with, which was nice. The fact that Kai and Riku were also "adopted" was kinda interesting; I thought they were George real sons, for some reason...figure.
Episode 4 was more of my liking as we see Saya turned all bloody killer again. The fight scene was nice; it went pretty smooth.
Looking forward the next episode&
Yeah, I thought they were George's real sons also, but it's cool to see that they were adopted also.
Well, the US army have taken George.
Can't wait for the next episode, this is going really well.
I have a bad feeling about George and Saya's next meeting. I see a very heart broken death coming our way in the next few ep's.
Live-Evil Released their version of episode 3 (finnaly).

Yeah, someone needs to give Live-eviL a deadline or something. They should know by now that making people wait an extra week or two to download their release is totally unacceptable.Quote:

Why??? they are doing it for free! they could take a month if they wanted to... Its their choice
Bakakozou has released their version of Episode 4
http://animesuki.com/group.php/438.html
Episode 4 from Live-Evil I prefer this group. They seem to do the best quality work after I compared the different subs.
Humm I see that those live-evil fuckers changed their font from episode 2 on... They went from a decent but innappropiate font, to a horrible font... I wonder what made them change... As usual, the font selection for live-evil is horrible
Episode 5 by Shinsen is out.
A Blood + forum has been created, so run over there!
Episode 5 Is out
This episode was good as a trans. episode. The next episode should have a lot of action in store.
Spoiler:
it looks like Gorge was feeded with some explosive/posion blood to weeken/kill mouse (it too hard to spell creatures name) or plan D is blow the whole building to ground.
Thats more of a theory. A spoiler is when you know that it will happen, but that is still pretty likely.
This was a decent episode, but I'm still pretty confused as to WHO is behind Red Shield and who is pulling the strings in the U.S. military, not to mention the weird 'candy guy'... Lots of stuff that I hope they get around to explaining...
Watching that fight scene was pretty rough. No mercy. That knee to the face looked especially wicked...
Next episode looks to be action-packed.
Hhahah I like the action =D.
I'm glad they finally made a sepereate section in the forum for this anime =D It's kinda cool. I sitll have to watch the original movie though.
Bakakozou has released their version of Episode 5.... in the future it seems it would be better to have a separate topic for release info (maybe even just one thread for ALL Blood+ releases?) and a different one for discussion.
http://a.scarywater.net/bakakozou/
EDIT: In response to below post (no need to add another post on my part), I was thinking the one release thread would be good to Sticky to the top of the section, just because I HATE going through a Discussion thread, looking for my fansub of choice, or just checking to see if my fansub of choice has been released or not, and accidentally reading events that take place in the episode and sorta spoiling it for myself. That would totally be avoided if a Release thread was made (and provided people stick to the rules, which is 'NO Discussion in the Release thread')
since it has limited episodes leave it as it is release and discussion togather.
<u>Continuing the Release discussion</u>:
There really isn't anything forcing you to go into the eps threads to see if your preferred group has not yet released it. There are other sites for it. Baka-updates, Tokyotosho, each group's respective channels, forums, and websites. If the group you want doesn't appear there, then don't go poking in the thread. It is as simple as opening a new tab in Firefox, or a new window in IE (not that anyone uses IE seriously anymore).
Does this forum really need to be a one-stop shop for people? Links are fine in some of the threads, but if I found the release, most people should be able to find it on their own, including the preferred versions. From their perspective, the people who demand links often like to see each group's release in the thread. One for a speedsub, and one for a quality version they prefer.
I'm fine with the way all the other sections of the forums work.
You can always wait until Gotwoot implements spoiler tags to feel safe in the threads, but then again, after an eps is released by any group, its pretty much free game. That's why I usually stay out of the eps thread until I've watched it.
<u>Blood+ eps 5 discussion:</u>
Not all that much happened in this eps, other than Kai finally getting what he severely needed (though from the preview it doesn't look like it stuck.
The series should begin to pick up soon because it looks like a lot of things are going to happen very fast in the next couple of eps.
Well, you know Kai isn't going to stick with not doing anything, he'll find a way to help out somehow I guess.
It seems Saya is finally coming to grips with the whole thing, for her family.
Yeah, looking for to the next couple of episodes.
Well it's out by Shinsen-Subs, so get it here.
Pretty good episode. This series has an amazing storyline, and it just keeps getting more and more
compeling. One thing is still puzeling me. Why is it that America is the bad guy, or more accuratly,
the American goverment?
Its easy to rag on America nowadays... what with our doctrine of being "the world's police", as Frenchie referenced...
David is my favorite character in this show. Shotgun > joo. I was sorta shocked that he didn't want Saya fully triggered for battle before going in there... poor tactics really... Kai just never seems to learn...
Should be interesting to see where "the new site" is going to be... 6 was a pretty damn good episode. I'm sticking with this show, though it can be slow at times. The blood and action are reason enough, not to mention the rocking storyline so far. Intrigue up to your ears!
yeah well the goveremnt kinda does need to get ragged on a bit... its not like they are doing EVERYTHING INCORRECTLY .. I am not oine of those left or right wing extreemists who ramble on and on about how bush is the man or he is a idiot, but one thing is certian , lately we have been stepping on ALOT OF other peoples toes...
more over it was a "theme" in the original movie... theirfore I guess they ended up running with it
not all of america is bad tho... think of the "father" guy (his name escapes me...) in the show.. he is american and he is cool
His name is George. Yeah, he is cool, but it was fucked up that they turned him into a Chipteroen.
I don't think the American government is the bad guy. I think that French guy should be considered the bad guy of this series. He is the one ordering all the officers around.Quote:

Way fucked up that they killed off the father so early.
I knew it was going to end like that, Only way for Saya to get off her ass and kill on comand.
I like how at the end of the episode, Saya is still full of blood in the car... no one cared to wipe it off... and she doesn't freak out like she always do...
It's because she's being slowly desensetized.
saya was being a pansy
Well, another good episode, the father went quicker than I thought he would. The story is progressing well, Kai is trying to be helpful, but he really can't do much considering he is a school kid, and human. He'll probably do something big later on though.
not much fighting, more development though..
Just finished watching all 7 eps and I'm not really impressed. I know it's early in the show so I'm not going to give up yet. The main character is a little meh, but I really like Haji though.
Funny facts:
George = Jiraiya
Riku = Ranmaru (I thougt it was Alphonse Elric first)
Yep, this episode was fairly boring...
But it looks like next episode will be awesome...
I don't know why, but whenever they say the name Haji, all I can think of is a similarly named servant-type character from Tsukiyomi Moon Phase.Quote:

Haiji
Yeah, same thing happens to me...
And they pretty much have the same relationship... Master-Servant
so this wine thing makes no sense.
If you think about it, it does. Blood looks a little like wine. They desgise the Delta 67 as wine and ship it for Nam to Japan.
