Those are Mosquito hawks (properly called crane flies). They're not actually mosquitoes; they don't drink blood; they're totally harmless.
Wikipedia
Yes I know.... -_-", but as with all trauma's, knowing they are harmless doesn't make them any less terrifying. I mean I would be afraid of a scorpion because I know it packs a nasty sting, not because of its appearance.
Wow. You're telling that huge flying insect that I slap with a slipper on sight in fact doesn't do anything at all, besides look scary?Quote:

Oh, and I had a weird dream last night, and a newspaper article was paying out XanBcoo over something.
I don't remember the contents, just the impression. It was pretty funny.
Walking back home from a grocery store I noticed this car:
http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/474/paholaisauto.jpg
Seems a bit much to be a coincidence...
A car from Hell, eh? :o
It's a message to all those of higher intelligent order. Words from the Divine himself:
"Work your butt off or go to hell"
BZB stands for Beelzebub i suppose.
that was my first guess as well.
Yeah. If it had been just random letters and 666, it would have likely been someone getting the numbers by chance, but together with those letters makes me think he paid the extra money for custom plates.
Just found out a buddy of mine is good friends with Pablo Francisco and is going to hook me up next time he's in town :]
Pablo Francisco was the first comedian I ever saw live. It was a good time, he's a really energetic and genuinely funny guy. Even if you're bored to death of his Don Fontaine voice and Jackie Chan impressions, you'll still laugh.
I thought Archangel might need the joke to be explained, so I made a demotivational poster for him:Quote:

They do this bit on one of the morning radio shows where they have women call in who have dead-beat dads that don't pay child support... anyhow, they call and pretend they're going to win something if they answer 3 questions right and the third question is always "why don't you pay child support?"
They told this guy he'd win 3 UFC 103 tickets here in dallas if he won and he was super excited at that point lol...but the funny part was when they revealed themselves. This guy got so pissed and the radio host kept telling him he was going to have sex with his wife, and take the kids to the park to play....
You'd probably have to hear it to realize how funny it was. This guy was so steaming mad and the host kept saying "alright dude... well, i'm going to send your wife to cancun and i'm even going to go so i can have sex with your wife " *angy guy"i'm gonna #$@(ing rip your throat out!!!!" *radio host "before, or after i have sex with you wife?!"
it was awesome.
I learned how to use Gimp over the weekend, I took a photo of a drawing I'm working on and played with it a little:
http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/q...d_then_gig.gif
Then at work the next Day I spent 5 minutes making this, It's now my desktop Background at work.
http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/q...ool/focus3.jpg
There's a poetic Irony In spending a weekend learning The Gimp because I can't walk right now...
My eyes would hurt if i stared at this for a long time.
IMO without blur effect it would be better, but still a great job!
Haha yeah...
Sorry, but an out-of-focus wallpaper is a terrible idea.
Watching this made me smile today.
The ass on this girl at work really made me smile today. I am going to talk to it tomorrow.
Not sure if this has been posted already but a friend of mine just sent it to me on MSN, i seriously laughed so hard i cried.

Wow, that was really cool. You'll probably need a lot of concentration to even pull it off due to other people that might interact with you when you're "frozen".
If they didnt move when i poked em i'd start to go through their pockets and take stuff, then see if they broke character, if they still didnt move id start to undress em or even lift them away and move em ^^

Shit... and then locks his computer and starts walking away, so i'm like... you have to go somewhere?
"yeah (smiling) the third floor!"
we're on the first floor and the bathroom is not really nice and it's heavily trafficed... but the third floor bathroom is alot bigger and nicer, and hardly anybody uses it. Plus it has the paper things to put over the toilet seat! lolz
so, what, you got an invitation to the high ranks toilets? where the floor is clean and the paper is tax payers' money?Quote:

lol...apparently another coworker is going to bring Miss America when we go meet Pablo on sunday? I dunno, seems kinda weird...should be interesting at least.
Maybe I'll play soccer in the morning with high king Peter of Narnia so I can set a record of 3 celebrity sightings in one day.

you should get tacos or something with him afterwards.

Oh shit! That's pretty tight!
What does it do?
You crank a gear/motor system and it fires a 30mW green laser. The laser hits a spinning mirror which lights up that whole chamber with a green square.
Does it do anything useful? No, it will not cure cancer.
should put that in a fridge to shoot down with the filtered water. green laser water O_o

12gb ddr3-1333 ^^ which means I can finally assemble my i7 system.
Also, I won 6 750gb seagate drives for $182.50+12 shipping earlier on ebay! i thought some bastard would bid snipe and i was shocked that my $182.50 rode on to the win ( high bid $255)
ok... so, I agreed to buy this coolermaster v-8 cpu cooler from this guy via Toms Hardware forums. I paid yesterday and I just got a box... opened it up and what is inside?
An i7 920 CPU retail box !... $40 !
*My conscience got the better of me and I let the poor guy know that he sent me his 920 instead of the cooler...
And now I feel like an idiot because I thought I'd won 6 750gb Sata drives on ebay... and I got them along w\ that 920 except they're 320gb... I looked at the auction and it shows it was not revised so I'm confused as to why I was so certain they were 750gb because i'd looked at it several times before even bidding... : ( I'm going to resell them and get my money back.
As naive as it sounds, I think instead of going through all of this trouble participating in auctioning wars, you should slowly become a regular at a computer parts retailer, befriend one of the staff or managers there and get discounted parts that way.
It's his hobby, enkoujin. He's talking about his ebay wins all the time and even his Location is set to ebay. I have no doubt saving money is just one part of it to him. The other part equals to those people who visit to all the auctions in the city and neighbouring towns just because it interests them.
Finally got an internet connection at our(the family's) cabin. It is situated in the middle of nowhere, among a ton of small islands, west in Norway. Good thing there are a few more cabins out here, otherwise I doubt anyone would be willing to do it(without taking a huge price for it).
It was sort of fun seeing them get the wires stuck in the trees while working on it, the terrain is filled with small hills, with water on all sides plus trees in random places so I can imagine it being quite difficult. It was sunny though(which is rare here) so I don't think they disliked it much. I think they were stretching them for 500-600 meters so it must have taken a while. It's just 2mbps but I'm happy with it. Oh and it will be sunny tomorrow too, so I am happy.
This made me smile today

I went to get a monster from 7-11 and they had 3 new ones... I was intrigued so I got one. Had me pretty jacked up most of the day. I really think they should do all of their other drinks in a 12oz re-sealable can like that and do away w\ the 16oz cans.
I played chicken with a guy for like half a mile with no lights.
Haha this was badass

ISP came out with new plans and upgraded me from 72GB/month to 75GB/month quota at no cost. It's not that big a difference when you look at it like that, but it's actually broken down into offpeak and peak quotas:
Offpeak: 2am-12pm = 60GB
Peak: 12pm-2am = 15GB (was 12GB)
In that regard, a 25% increase in the quota that I'd actually have a reasonable probability of breaking makes me smile.
H&R block found $713 on my tax return from this year that is owed to me ^^
oh, and am also getting the $8,000 first time home buyers tax credit ^^
Camping.
It kicks ass, especially when you are wedged inside of a tent normally made for two children.
And you also feel more hardcore than the people with A/C campers/caravans/trailers and satellite television.
back from 4 day birthday-drunken-lan-party organized by my friend - it was totally awesome.
Found a really nice note left by my ex-roommate when I returned home today. Despite all the shitty things between her and I that happened over the past few months, it still makes me feel pretty optimistic about people.
So how was living with a female in a platonic relationship? I'm thinking of getting a roommate and I'd prefer it's a female, but I'm sure there's a downside to that arrangement.Quote:

I've started talking to my Ex again, after several months of distance between us.
we talked out some problems we had last time, and things are really going well.
I'm sure this time it won't fall apart because I can't stay inside the 'just friends' box.
really, this time it'll be different.
New member of my family:

His name from the SPCA is Apple Jack, but I call him AJ or pootchie.
A dog in a cage? That's a first.
Looks like a cheerful little fella. That cage is a tad depressing though. :p
Gonna give Animeniax the benefit of the doubt and assume his new dog isn't housebroken yet, and/or the cage is just a way of establishing the dog's "territory" in a new apartment.
Yeah that's what's going on. It's called "crating" the dog. He's already house-trained and well-trained in general, though a bit feisty and tries to dominate (I thought it was the pit bull side of him but it turns out it might be the shar-pei side, go figure).
The folks at the shelter recommended keeping him crated until he's acclimated to his new home. I'd rather let him roam free in the backyard, but they recommended against that for some reason. He seems a lot happier in the backyard, but maybe he'll try to escape, though that doesn't seem likely since he seems very loyal and even dependent on his owner.
My first dog by the way, so it's almost like having a first child. Lots to learn and experience.
just got some awesome new threads off melrose today. I'll have to post a picture later

EDIT
I don't want to double post so here it is.
finally my 1TB hdd arrived!
First day back at university, and it's unbelievable how many hot girls are walking around in short shorts. They're all young, fit, and gorgeous. Good thing I have no game and I'm beyond being interesting in girls just for their looks. Plus I'm trying to concentrate on studies too.
Surely you're not too old to hit on college girls without it seeming creepy, Animeniax. The clock is ticking, take advantage while you can.
Just found out that the band I'm in is opening for Peelander Z in a month.
I'd never heard of them before now, but apparently they're kind of big? In any case they look absolutely insane. A Japanese punk rock band with Sentai themed costumes and names:
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoid=56539873
Even if we suck I'm so looking forward to that, if only to see them perform.
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/3378/peelander.jpg
Oh man, I gotta see that. Details on the date and time of the performance please. Of course, first midterms will be in about a month, so it's doubtful, but I'm looking for a reason to make a trip to Houston.
Oh, and since I have no game and suck at being charming or witty, hitting on cute girls isn't my thing. I need a context in which to work. Luckily I have that since there are cute girls in my classes, but since these are computer science classes, the cute girls will get plenty of attention from all the geeks in the classes. And it's a major turn-off watching the cute girls sling it around in hopes of getting tutoring or homework help from the geeks.
I bought today 2 CDs Vader - Necropolis and Behemoth - Evangelion.
and the best part is now - Vader will be signing CDs at empik store on 01.09 and this shop is very close to the where i live.
Ill probably take a pic of it, but my gf sent me a Wing Zero Gundam model (although I wanted the Cherubdim or Dynames). It was still a nice gesture ^__^.
Just finished watching "Death Proof" and the ending totally put a smile on my face. :D
