The part I was talking about doesn't happen until about 7:10, but the rest is pretty funny. The Australian guy they have demonstrating is like a really buff version of the Star Wars Kid.
Today, and yesterday, i learned how coilguns work, and i'm planing on constructing one-coil gun with my friend, then we will experiment with 2-coil gun, and finally with 8-coil gun.
How to eat Nigiri-Sushi & sashimi:
Nigiri-Sushi: Dipping the topping only into your soy sauce, then place it in your mouth upside-down. ie, fish down.
Sashimi: similar method, place your preferred amount of wasabi on one side, dip the other into your soy sauce and place it on your tongue, wasabi side down. Order of taste should be wasabi->fish->soy sauce
Soaking in soy sauce with the rice, and forming a mix of wasabi-soyu paste is supposed to be incorrect. Many people do it that way, myself included.
Today I learned how to link to a specific spot in a youtube clip.
You simply add #t=(x)m(y)s to the end of the url, where (x) and (y) represent numbers.
So, if I wanted this clip of Watership Down to start at 8 minutes and 10 seconds, I'd add "#t=8m10s" to the end of the url:

Oooh, very useful tip! *makes a note for future reference*
Did you know the Goofiest rep thread has the highest post count in all of GotWoot?
500 posts behind is the Bitching Thread.

Today i learned that just before best part of dream someone has to wake you up.
When you get too comfortable, you will get complacent. Standards will slip as you think of yourself too highly. From time to time, take a step back, and see where you stand. Only then can you humbly direct yourself back on track.
That's what I learned today.
This... just made me look blank. Why would he do that? :(
Today, I learned your hair color does not come out the way the back of the box says it will.
*le sigh* =/
Today i learned -ta form of Japanese verbs(with kudasai, and "and" sentences conjunction), along with some verbs and some kanji
Today I learned that a 2850 with a BMC configured to do IPMI over LAN with a static ip but no DRAC will keep the ip address you assign it and respond to arping, but will not respond to ping or anything else that nmap -O throws at it. Also that it'll do that over the primary network interface, taking the next MAC in sequence from the nics themselves. (eg: if the last octet on the two physical nics are :37 and :38, the BMC's hijacking of the NIC will be on :39).
I hope that this helps someone other than me and my officemate, at some point in the future. But I doubt it will.
This glimpse of the mysterious world of sysadmins in r&d companies brought to you by ... my r&d company!
Whoahhhh, I just learned from VH1 that The singer of the band Survivor, most famous for their song The Eye of the Tiger, is the same guy who does the singing voice in the Bud Light "Real Men of Genius" commercials.

Comparing prices from one store to another, I learn that Wal-Mart really has the best price around the district. Well, around here, anyway. For example, a Chicken Pot Pie costs $0.50 in Wal-Mart while some other store, like Dollar General, sells it for $0.89.
Today I learned Ray Combs, the first host of the game show Family Feud, killed himself like ten years ago.
I used to love that show.
Today I learn that I'm off tommorow for the holiday sweeeeeeeeeeet
(last year at my job everybody had to work)
