I have a firm belief that the next episode will totally own.

I have a firm belief that the next episode will totally own.
A fine episode. And a mushy one. But when appropriate, I like traditional, romantic and tender love stories, and that enhances my experience of Eureka 7. That's lucky for me.
The next episode could be interesting. It's still hard to see even with the preview if it's hard action or not, but either way, EpyonNext could be right.
Very intriguing, did that look like Japan inside the 'Zone' to anyone else? And what could Dewey be planning now...he always seems to have a plan. I guess 3 years in jail give you lots of time to make plans.
Just watched episodes 41 and 42. I was kind of surprised the direction this show has taken.
The way I understand it is that the planet is not producing enough females so the scrab coral is doing that job to keep all the males on the planet happy or is it something deeper than that.
Just kidding.
Come on Nanashi, pick up the pace. I am dying to know where all this is going. I cannot take it anymore.
Well, soon Dewey will need to make multiple plans how to avoid court martial... Considering how many casualties he's causing on his own side. They say shitty officers don't get the bullet from the other side, but from behind, as well.
But certainly a very interesting episode. I didn't quite expect what they found at the very end. Well, not that I'd exactly know what they found. The episodes in this series are worth waiting for, to say the least.
They found the Giant Mysterious Tower from Xenogears :p
I definately thought that looked like Japan in the end...wonder if that'll play into the new world! Great episode, great series and it just keeps on developing. Lovin' it. Now if Nanashi just subbed and released just a little bit faster...Quote:

episode 41 folks
New OP- I just don't like it. I mean, you change the whole sound, the whole mood of your intro, 180. From 3 sorta carefree, fast and loose poprock songs to an overbearing, overdramatic rendition of Amazing Grace... That's a case of tinkering something with something that wasn't broke and just fucking it up to smithereens.
Sakura - the name of the song. I mean, the girl's voice is pretty damn good. But why the title in Japanese and the word in English? Too many awkward pauses. The fact that it's over some kind of remix of a song that will probably play at my funeral is not cool. Some songs are not meant to be used in J-pop.
Oh, but i must admit the animation in the new OP is absolutely ass spanking until you cry it's so beautiful. Incredible animation after the standard slow pan of the protagonists gazing into a sunset/rise.
7:03 - Maurice finally establishes himself as a elder to the two other orphans. Finally.
7:05 - Started drawing vague parallels between this show and Mushishi
7:09 -
- That girl spooked me!
- If Sakuya didn't age, then Eureka won't either?
7:10 - Something doesn't jive. If Sakuya was inside the Great Wall for 40 years shouldn't Eureka, having been part of the planet before, been in contact with her? The Great Wall keeping all transmission inside it is a strange thing...
A part end: I like the background story of Norbu and Sakuya alot. Sort of wish he'd been introduced to the show earlier, but oh well...
7:14 - I mean, i didn't think they called it "the great wall" for no good reason...
7:16 - and of all the people to represent the Vodarek, the most spirtually aware faction of men, they elect a smelly, lazy teenager. I hope he got a big white hat.
7:18 - but the dude reacts really well when his girlfriend turns into a giant water plant. I mean, I would have probably freaked out and started screaming like a small dog in a blender. Oh wait, that's exactly what he did?
- what i don't understand is why Norbu and Sakuya didn't make it through the Zone? Because they needed an LFO?
7:22 - BOOM! It's in the air!
7:23 - So, as a comprimise Sakuya gave her longer hair to cover up the 'proof of what Eureka went through'. So makeup is bad, but radical hairstyling isn't?
Final Thoughts: Mostly background, and I guess Renton and Eureka needed some support (though I'd always seen Holland and Talho as the sort of 'this is how love wors' figure for the two, then Norbu comes busting in.
The ED fits alot better, and I love the photos used. The song itself is awesome. The verses are great and the chorus is cheerful (almost too much so), but a really good way to round out an episode.
I can't wait for Dewey to start tearing shit up.
This episode rocked face....HARD. :D
I love it when I'm right.
oh, i bought "The Golden Bough", the book Holland and Dewey both have. Will read it eventually. It seems to be a critical analysis of religion, most particularly focusing on how myths, popular culture, human nature and religion are all intertwined to become one phenomenon.
the episode
still not feeling the new OP....
7:04 - "True Promised Land" - perhaps another reference to the Pure Land, the promised land in Mahayana Buddhism. (Recall my long poster earlier about Amita Drive and the Buddha Amithaba). Norbu's role as 'the monk' really comes in heavy here. Wonder what he's going to have to do to get them into Zone...
- Good god, Doggie is going to fly the most difficult mission they ever had? I know he'll do just fine, since it is an anime, but that fact would make me wanna shit my pants if i was on-board the Gek...
7:06 - Norbu is the name of a famous Buddhist monk. He may also be a reference to a lama/filmmaker. Just Wiki his name and you'll see.
- Dewey Period.
7:08 - Old smelly man and loli. Eww. :p
7:09 - this is the e7 music i enjoy!
End Part A
Hope for part 2: This episode is gearing up to be awesome.
7:12 - Man, the Scab Coralians are evil sons of bitches. Sucks that the Vodarek faith doesn't save them...
7:16 - Norbu we hardly knew thee. Acting all awkward right at the end was sorta funny.
7:18 - The Nirvash moving on its own accord, even against both its drivers... Glad someone understands the urgency of the situation, even if it is the mech
7:19 - I did not expect Holland to go like that...
7:22 - Anemone didn't get through. That's good, she would have caused hell inside... I wonder if Dominic's help is enough to get her through?
- and Dewey retreats... Wonder that they never show him reacting to Holland's craft blowing up, maybe he doesn't even know...
- oh, fuck naw. How did Holland survive that shit? I really bonefied thought he was gone...
7:24 - Awesome.
End thought - I really like the idea of the Earth being inside of another planet. It works on symbolic levels and really fits the theme of the show by putting a nice twist on the oft-used theme of 'the planet being its own being'. I like that the humans have a massive tower going up to space, and the planet has a huge one going down to its 'core'.
It is obviously Earth inside of the planet, but is it just a symbol, something mankind 'brought with them' or is the story more complex than that?
Can't believe they made me think Holland was dead... i should have known better.
Never believe deaths when inside mechs unless they show their head being severed or body blown to pieces.
IT WAS EARTH ALL ALONG!
no really... it looked more like it was only Japan and that its surrounded by towers. maybe the whole planet is earth and Japan was protected from "something" by these towers?
pretty good episode really.
^Has the anime ever addressed what exactly happened to Earth and how they got to the planet. I know that the sages mentioned 'not being able to pilot the ship' which I assume they meant some sort of space ship (maybe via a 'wormhole' or dimensional travel) that brought the humans to the planet. Does Earth still exist?
http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/746...longfq6.th.jpg
it really depends on the size of the building they are in, pretty fucking huge since i think it's the core of whatever planet they're on. But from this it looks like it's more than just Japan, and I assume it's a sphere like our own, so the part they entered through is just so that they come down facing "Earth" from that angle
You are right.... I thought the pillars delimited the place... but they don't
Anyone notice that Anemone's "eye slits" changed position when she tried to enter the Zone.
They went from going left/right to almost being completely up/down.
Crap, Crap, Crap. I've been enjoying Eureka Seven quite a bit but unfortunately my DL of episode 45 is really really screwy. I don't want to skip ahead seeing as how now at the very end each and every episode is becomming increasingly more important. Do any of you happen to have any links where I can get a fresh copy of the fansub? Who ever can help me out I'll be greatly indebted to since I really can't wait to see how the rest of this series pans out.
i thought the latest release of eureka seven is episode 42...
u can get that fron Nanashi, the website is here:
http://www.nanashi-fansubs.com/
hmm does that answer ur question??
Don't worry someone else helped me solve my problem I'll be able to see episode 45 now. Thanks for the help though. Yesh I'm surprised that this series dosen't have a stronger following. I'm guessing that's because alot of people get turned off by the surfing mechs.
Who released 45? Nanashi is on 42 and Seraph (who we're supposedly not to talk about here) is only up to 44 according to their site.
eureka seven is now my favriot mecha anime
The unspeakable "S group" released it.Quote:

Seraph uses scripts 'stolen' from Nanashi instead of having their own translator, at least since I last checked. There should be some details further back in this thread, such as me being censured for posting a Seraph link.
Concerning the Nanashi E7 situation, info like this could be found floating around the forums, and hadn't been denied by the staff members (at least yet), so believe it or not using your own instincts:
Personally, I of course hope it's true. Nothing would be sweeter than to suddenly get the rest of E7 as a batch.Quote:

It's pretty true, the last 8 are on RC1 and encoded.Quote:

I was able to download the complete series, although eps 1 - 36 was subbed by Nanashi and eps 37 - 50 was by Bizarro-Nanashi... although I'm not sure if this group also obtained the "stolen" scripts...
Note: I already dl the series even before I read the GW forums, and yes, I read all the post from the start (kudos to masamuneh's 'blow by blow' account of each episode, I enjoyed reading them as much as watching the eps)
spoiler alert: 43-50 from nanashi will be from DVD raws.
Will the rest of the episodes be re-encoded with the dvd raws?
Does that mean we have to wait longer for Nanashi to release the next episodes?
Can someone explain?
Just finished watch this series and I loved everything but I was a bit confused about the ending. So much stuff happened so quickly and none of it was really explained so if any of you would like to give me something so I could begin to wrap my head around it that would be greatly apprechiated.
WTF what's going what's this about unreleased or stolen episodes? I'm really confused is there some sort of scandel that happened with the subgroup that I'm unaware of? If so how many episodes have been released by the subgroups? Sorry for breaking some kind of taboo I just wanted some answers to a series I thought was through being aired.
First Yesy released the rest of the Utawarerumono episodes all at once, and now Nanashi got rid of their respective project by releasing the remaining Eureka Seven episodes. Jolly good. I don't know if I'm the only person who waited for this and didn't downloaded the possibly less reputable releases from other sources, but here are the genuine ones, nonetheless, straight from Nanashi:
Episodes 43-50 (Final) - Nanashi
I waited patiently for Nanashi as well.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!
*e7 sig and avatar for the day*
I know what I'm gonna do tomorrow :)
although azureus says that there are no seeds...
'nyways.. I'm happy that I can see how it ends :)
Avoiding spoiling as much as possible, I'll just say ... I expected this series to end in a much worse place than I felt it did. The mood of the mid-40's, 43-45 in particular, had me really not enthusiastic to finish, but ultimately I'm glad I did.
I definitely felt a good sense of closure with this ending. It felt like they wrapped up a lot of the standing issues, and really gave a good sense of approximately what the hell was going on. There's still things unanswered (like ... what the nature of the trapar is, or the details of the "limit of life" phenomenon), but they're peripheral, and really knowing the gory details to that level would have detracted from things a bit.
This show was worth the time to watch it.
Thank you Kraco! I can't believe that I can finally watch the end of this series...it's been months since the last release (I may have to watch a few of the previous epsiodes to refresh my memory). I am glad I waited for Nanashi; there were a few times that I almost opened the Ser___ fansubbed versions, but didn't. I will edit post with thoughts after I dl. <runs to open utorrent>
Here is the final frame... Its at the bottom of the page of that quoted link source.Quote:

Wow, chain watching 7 Eureka seveN episodes in hard on the eyes. Anyway, just having the series complete is an immense relief as I'd been waiting for so damn long like the rest of the faithful. It did throw a few twists in at the end which I liked, such as the weird Dewey necklace thing (which was barely explained, though assumptions could easily be made). All in all I liked these last few eps, though I think I've finally hit the point where anime endings are all pretty similar unless they are just leaps and bounds out of the ordinary.
As for the series it had it's ups and it's downs, a lot of angst, great music, good charachters and plenty of good action. The story might have made a little more sense, but some semblance of an explanation can be gleaned if you payed enough attention.
I just finished watching episode 50. It was a great ending but I do have one question.
Eureka and Renton still live on the Earth except they're just not home, right?
I think it's probably best to consider it their honeymoon...
(at least, that's how I interpreted it. They've got the same last name now, and granddad said something to the effect of "Renton's the only member of our family who's ever come back to this town" ... meaning they had to be on Earth at some point after the scabpocalypse)
See Arcness's post above.Quote:

Finally acquired enough time to finish the series. It was a long wait since the last released episodes before these, but certainly time worth waiting, made even more evident by the fact I didn't even need to check the previous episode to remember exactly where the story had been left before the pause.
Some parts nearing the end of the story were quite ominous, like complich8 said, end I honestly didn't dare make too many guesses how this would end. It looks like a pretty happy ending, or almost as happy as it could get considering all the damage. Personally, I think the ending was very suitable.
And from now on Renton and Eureka can always blink those forehead lights to each other in the dark... Very nice.
I've got 3 more questions.
1. What's the 1st Summer of Love?
2. How come whenever Eureka and Renton do the Seventh Swell thing Holland always says "No it's not.."
3. O.o Gonzy was a Corallian?
And I'm pretty sure that's all I need to know. Thanks.
The first Summer of Love was when Eureka and Adrock unleashed an uncontrolled Seven Swell phenomenon in what amounts to the middle of a somewhat populated area. Lots of death, lots of other other negative consequences, including the death of Adrock while stopping it.
I think Holland is very much afraid of what might happen if there's a second instance of the Summer of Love catastrophe. His worst fear is that Renton and Eureka are going to hit another seven swell, lose control of it, and everyone's going to die.
And yeah, Gonzy was. Great revelation there, it was kinda hilarious when he opened his eyes, said goodbye, and they all suddenly realized it.
So for question number two. The thing Renton and Eureka does when they pull the amita drive isn't the SEventh Swell but just a weaker version?
Yeah, now that everyones caught I can finally go about discussing the end of Eureka Seven
Overall I liked the series but some of the revalations in the end came to quickly and without any sort of explanation.
First of all what was up with Dewy having the compac drive embedded in his chest. Seriously what was the point of that. How was he connected to the scurve coral and how would his death some how kill them off.
What the hell was up with the Nirvash's unexplained last minute make over? It really didn't make sense of how it just transformed for no reason? Was it supposed to be some kind of metaphor for Renten finally coming of age?
What happened in the very end. What did Renten acomplish by going to Eureka who was stuck in that wierd plant thing that had something to do with scurve coral.
In the end what did happen did he and Eureka merge with the scurve coral affecting the planets destiny, seriously what was up with the fairy wings the Eureke grew at the last minute. Those never were really justified.
Wow....just wow. Powerfull, entertaining, intense, emotional, and closed well. I dont think I could have asked for more out of an anime. I'm just simply at a loss for words at how awesome the show was.
PS. Ep. 48 was the best.
@LobsterMagnet: Here are my personal opinions about your questions
1) The Compac drive in his chest was somehow the trigger for the collars around the necks of Anemone and Eureka. While i'm not sure of the details of how it was to work, the overall intent was to either to stop them from becoming new command clusters to replace the one Dewey destroyed or force them to become a command cluster and send a kill yourself signal to all the Scab.
2) Nirvash, I think, returned to it's original organic form sheding the mechanical components the humans had added on. It was trying to become a new command cluster and thus needed to be in its original organic state to do so.
3) Renton went to Eureka to keep her from becoming the new command cluster, either so as to not lose her or to stop the Dewey 'virus' thing. In the end he got to her and she did not become the new command cluster (the Nirvash did). The flashing lights were their individual wills, Eureka's was fading as she was becoming the Command Cluster, but Renton's will called to her and she was able to separate herself.
As for the wings...she was a Coralian with a Human form, but it's likely that she couldn't hold a fully human form for so long and started reverting to a more Coralian appearance.
Some elements felt rushed, like Dewey's compac drive and the collar thing. But all in all, it was a pretty well-done series from start to finish.

I don't know about you guys, but this "new mythos" thing has me a bit worried... what do you guys think? Should we be excited about this? Or do we fear they'll ruin what was one of the greatest animes of all time? Some sort of retelling? A sequel but with a different storytelling style? Just what is this?Quote:
The May issue (on sale on April 10) of Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine will officially anounce that an Eureka Seven movie has been greenlit for production. Director Tomoki Kyoda (RahXephon movie), character designer Kenichi Yoshida (Overman King Gainer), and special effects director Yasushi Muraki (Ah! My Goddess: The Movie, The Skull Man) will reportedly return to animate with new mechanical designs, as well as a new form of storytelling that differs how the BONES anime studio produced the RahXephon movie. Although the creators are promising a new Eureka Seven "mythos," it will still feature the Renton and Eureka characters that starred in the original television version. Bandai Entertainment released both the original anime television series and the manga spinoff in North America. The Adult Swim television network ran the program in the United States.
Nah, I'm not worried. I wouldn't mind seeing Renton and Eureka again, especially if this takes place when they are already more comfortable in each other's company. The story of the series was pretty much concluded so it's not feasible to continue it in any manner, probably, so they could either make something totally new or somehow work on parts of what already transpired. In either case, it's not like it would overwrite anything you already experienced while watching the series.
Movies are movies, and movies somehow related to series are inferior to the actual show. Just take it as an extra piece of entertainment. Don't paint devils on the walls, like the saying goes here in Finland (don't know how you say it in English). It's not fated to be bad.
I never got around to finishing it, I believe i only hit episode 10 then dropped it from boredom. Maybe I'll pick it up again.
The series is awesome, you should definitely pick it back up.
As Kraco pointed out, it's just a movie version of a series with an alternate retelling. They just about all suck (I can't think of a good one off the top of my head). They don't really break canon because they weren't intended to be a continuation, just a fun retelling.
Other notable series that had alternate reality versions or recaps that everyone ignored:
- AIR
- RahXephon (mentioned in the clip Munsu posted)
- Vandread
- Kiddy Grade
I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

Technically yes (and financially) but not artistically. I wouldn't count it to be anymore in the same plot and thus it wouldn't be a continuation. It would affect even less anything that happened in the series than a movie that takes place ambiguously somewhere during the greater story.
i'm slightly annoyed, but i'll surely take a look at it.
i really despise the practice of boiling a full show down to a short little movie...
http://www.eureka-prj.net/
The trailer's out. The character personalities seem a tad bit different (except for Renton's) but this movie looks like it could be pretty bad ass!
Looks interesting. Some differences to the original are evident, which makes me glad. It would be no fun to watch a simply compressed version of the original. Look very intense as well - as if the series hadn't been intensive already...
What's most important: Eureka and Renton are still such a cute couple.
Edit: Oh, did anybody spot the three brats in the trailer? Maybe they are removed from the story. That would be sweet.
Ooh nice find! I wonder though if this is going to continue sort of where the show left off or whether it will be somewhere in between...chronologically.
Definitely this. What I find just as important: Long-haired Eureka. I wasn't much of a fan of the plastered-hair look, I actually liked it when she chopped it short just because it was a change.Quote:

given that my biggest retrospective criticism of E7 was that it dragged on desperately at a couple points, I'm definitely interested in seeing a version of the story told in the 90-180 minute range instead of the ~1000 minutes of series time. I can only imagine the sheer quantity of textural backstory that'll get trimmed out.
I fully support Long-haired Eureka, though.

Pocketful of Eureka:
Eureka Seven Pocketful of Rainbows - Nanashi
The file size is 4.37GB, btw.
Btw, the thing hanging around her neck is not a swimsuit, but a necklace. Another reason to watch it, I suppose.
This was certainly surprising. Like Complich, I expected the movie to be kind of a summary, a (brutally) shortened version of the series, and so when it opened as a totally new story only reusing the characters' faces and names and the basic setting, I was filled with disbelief. It took me around half of the movie to finally accept it fully and begin to enjoy it as its own thing.
That being said, it's understandable the movie never reached the depth of the long series, but it performed almost remarkably well. Quite a few characters were left grossly superficial and acted as little more than plot devices, but once again that's understandable. What was really important: Eureka and Renton's little romance, was jolly good, though. More streamlined than in the series cutting most of the emo away and getting to the point right from the beginning, I'd say.
Definitely worth watching even if it won't replace the series by any means. Though long-haired Eureka could replace the short-haired one any day...
wtf @filesize.
naruto movies usually are about 600 mb....
I haven't finished downloading it yet so i can't be quite sure about the quality but for comparison sake, the Blu-ray version of Apple Seed Ex Machina is about 6.5 gig.Quote:

This isn't any Naruto so quality is a factor to take into account.
So it is worth grabbing then?
well, isnt there an SD-version available somewhere? i doubt my pc would be able to run such a big hd-file anyway... ;-/
