Close, but not quite. Kousaka Reina swapped bodies with Unmei and her personality inverted.

Reina parts her bangs on her right side, Idol Rin and AssaRin both have unparted bangs. Reina also has trimmed hair on the sides of her face. Idol Rin and AssaRin have full length side hair.
I will concede that AssaRin and Reina have the same eye color.
Kinsou no Vermeil has a strong first episode.
The background art is phenomenal and really paints a mood for the setting. Very good for a new studio with only work assistance and a single hentai for their credits.
Can't go wrong with a succubus female lead whose attire is a dress version of the virgin-killing sweater.
The anime adaptation made a total joke of Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo. It's understandable since it would be impossible to make it faithful to the original, while still airing/streaming it normally. The original is pretty much vanilla porn, but this anime adaptation actually had far, far stricter censoring than any run of the mill ecchi show, by showing nothing, bleeping any suggestive words, and even censoring the subtitles. It was pretty funny for a single episode, but it'd be a bit much for the duration of the whole series. This is textbook trash isekai, so it doesn't really have much going for it as it is.
Prince of Tennis U-17:
Do we really not have a Prince of Tennis-thread on Gotwoot? Searched showed nothing.
It's a bog standard continuation, basically just gives another excuse to pitch characters against each other. I didn't even know Ryoma had a brother, lol. I also didn't know he was half-American, nor that Tezuka was half-German. Or why are they allowed to play for other countries' teams?
Not much tennis yet. I'm hoping for Atobe doing some dominating, that is all.
Soredemo Ayumu 01:
It feels like a mix of Karakai Jouzu Takagi-san and Kaguya. However, I'm not sure I can stomach a whole season of such serene, quiet episodes. It wasn't bad, though. Although they're already so close, they might as well just confess. She literally used the term "aiaigasa" at the end, which afaik is used in a romantic context only.
Prima Doll is a bit of Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka, but since it is KEY series, it's also a lot of Eve no Jikan, Mahoro, and Violet Evergarden all rolled together. I like the steampunk aesthetic, and the mysterious nature of what the reactivated automata (dolls) did beforehand, hinting that they were heavily involved in some nasty war stuff.
Big gloopy robot tears (I also don't understand why they eat either, they have their steampunk backpacks).
The character designs are very pretty. KEY has upped their game.
Kuro no Shoukanshi ep 1:
The most generic isekai ever. Honestly, it's sad how authors have given up entirely on creating heroes that don't look like ... THAT.
Also, I don't get it: WHY is this an isekai?! The hero even loses his memory from before reincarnating! There'd be no difference if he was just someone living in a fantasy world ... except then he'd have an interesting background at least from where he grew up and such.
What makes this so frustrating is that it's not like the isekai genre has exhausted all ideas. Fuck, it hasn't even begun! But instead of trying different isekai approaches, we keep getting "handsome, gay Kirito-alike materializes in generic fantasy world and helps everybody because OF COURSE he's a moral person!". B-ooooooooooooooooooring.
There is more variety in the isekai series out there, but quite often the super generic ones get animated.
So to everyone: Any potential GREAT anime candidates already? Only non-sequels though.
For me, Isekai Ojisan is a standout.
My standouts are Isekai Ojisan and Lycoris Recoil.
Too soon to say on any of the others, we're still two weeks away from the 3 episode test!
Prince of Tennis U-17 episode 2:
Alright, if this were a new franchise I'd drop it. There's really nothing to talk about here, it's a hollow "let's pitch all the fan favourites against each other" again, even if it makes not sense why only team Japan has 20 or so players but all other teams have 6, lol. I hope the tennis matches in this episodes only were that boring because it was exhibition matches, ugh. Doesn't deserve its own thread.
I didn't know the franchise, only read the titles over the years with anime/manga dating from pre internet era.
But honestly these 2 eps are pure garbage in every department.
Worse being art and animation. It feels like we get Hokuto no Ken original anime characters with tenis apparel, and we get the same animation technique from that era with everything still and stiff. Story/scenario makes no sense, players change national teams over they like.
I have low requirements but that anime still manages to go lower than that...
LOL, this is a very bad place to start this franchise, David :D Pls start from the beginning, it's quite fun then. I rewatched the whole series 2-3 times. But the power level at the end of the regular anime was ... "full" already, and then they overdid it. U-17 is just dumb "dragon ball characters blasting their iconic attacks against each other and Goku winning at the end" level bs.

Ouch. That's me moment you decide to drop a show that was already extremely mediocre and generic.
Even though the fights seem to be pretty fun
