At least it's not like they are going to go on a mission to meet the great dragon who can grant any wish with his balls. And use those wishes to restore the universe to where it was before Majin B..Izen did his thing.
They are going to spend forever getting to the King. When they get there, they will find out the journey was pointless. Not because the King doesn't do anything, but because the many plot holes allowing them to have done the exact same thing with minimal effort.
The king will have Squad zero, a collection of 10-12 Espada/Captain level crazy people who have ascended the level of Shinigami and Hollow. Ichigo must reclaim his power in order to beat them and find the spirit king.
Then by that time maybe Byakuya and Kenpachi will finish their fight with Yammy to help Ichigo.
Just as Kisuke planned :O

so brian has been acting aizen all the time, making a big fuss over at SS to get the zero squad mobilized so that Real!aizen could go and attack spirit king.
