Wow, 30 people voted so far and no clear favorite. That's cool though, means we have lots of different opinions. It was really hard for me to choose because of the variety in themes and styles (Speed Grapher or Honey and Clover? They're so different it's hard to compare). I finally decided to go with FMP:TSR, mainly for sentimental reasons, and the haircut scene, which is my favorite scene in anime this year.

I think everyone who watches Eureka has voted for it here... Too bad all five of us already voted, so we'll probably won't get more votes for it...
I haven't voted (until just now), so I'll put Eureka 7 up for it. It's just starting to develop its main storyline, but by far is the series I look forward to whenever its released. Everything about it makes it great to watch, and the style (animation and design) is more original than a lot of other series out these days.

Tsubasa Chronicle gets my vote, it's one of the only series I actually went back to watch and it deserves respect for that

speed grapher from me-- it was either that or Air. honestly, i was choosing from animes that i watched the whole series to so my choice was really skewed. but no one cares, right? [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]
i think this is just for the anime made in 2005 and not the best of 2005, and personly a lot of these shows are better then bleach [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]Quote:

anyways iv only watched 14 espisodes of eureka 7 so far and personly its the best series of 2005, iv havn't watched "Major" yet which is next on my list, but out of the ones iv seen, eureka7 is my fav.
FMP:TSR. That particular series was nearly perfectly balanced in every way. And the downfall of the main character was the best I have ever seen in any anime. Usually there's always something that doesn't feel quite right or believable (story wise) when a strong character falls, but in FMP:TSR it clicked perfectly. I just can't forget it.

Anyone who puts Bleach above anime like Eureka Seven and FMP: TSR needs to be shot.
With that said, Eureka and FMP are the only two series that have come out this year that didnt suck on some level(Eureka still has like 30 eps to go, so it's still got room to fail). Eureka gets my vote over FMP. While FMP was an excellent shot of awesome, Eureka is beating it in every catagory. From animation to sheer intensity of the cast.
