Yay to desperation!
This thread is retarded. The first post is incoherent slobbering onto a keyboard.
Gundam is about the MS, but it does have alot to do with the pilots. I liked how Seed introduced the ideas of Coordinators and Naturals (the whole "Ultimate Coordinator" idea is cliche, however, and I think we ALL saw it coming a million miles away) but it hasn't done much to show much diversity in specialties.
Imagine a Coordinator is being engineered, the parents want their baby to have good vision.
But do they give the baby the ability to see further and clearer than 20/ 20? Or perhaps a better attention to details and small stuff? How about playing with the shading of the eyes so that glare doesn't bother them as much?
Then naturally we have other varities of "power" given to Coordinators such as intellect (and what kind of intellect? Math? Spacial? Planning? Psychological?) strength, speed, stamina, accuracy, flexability and good old reaction time. All of which can be played with in Coordinators. But Seed doesn't seem to make ANY differences at all between Coordinators! It's like all the parents asked for the same baby but with different hair color, height, eye color etc!
There are lots of options and Variety is the spice of life, but once again, our friends over in Japan producing Gundam recently seem to be narrow-minded (model kits!) and lazy about exploring and fleshing out the interesting aspects of the universe they created.
