The Boy Scouts created this badge to commemorate allowing gay kids into their ranks. So I guess you earn this badge by being gay? Or is this like a scarlet letter A or Star of David?
"Allowing" gay kids? What the fuck? How do 10 year old kids even know if they're gay or straight and how does that matter at all in joining the boy scouts?
Yeah, it's been a big deal in the US for the last year or so whether or not the Boy Scouts would allow openly gay kids to join them. They fought it for a while, then decided to allow them, hence this commemorative badge. And yes, 10 year old kids know if they are gay or straight, besides the fact that Boy Scouts can be between 10 and 17 years old.
Funny though that openly gay adults cannot join as leaders, as if they're all sexual deviants who can't control themselves around young boys or something.
Apparently, there are kids as young as five who know about their gender issues ("the new normal" has an example of that). I also read sometimes in the papers about kids (ten years old) who's parents move around so that they can be in a 'friendly' school. can't understand how it can be so clear so early on, but that must be because I'm a privileged, CisGender, hetronormative male (and therefore, unqualified to make any comment).
I guess it works by either giving it to everyone who was in the scouts when the badge was issues (this is how some war marks are issued in Israel. everyone who was on duty, even if only at training for a desk job, gets one). another way is to give it to any kid who does something 'gay-friendly'. like lecturing to the fellows scouts about gay rights, volunteering in a gay shelter, helping a gay cross the road, making a campfire for the fags. the stuff that the kid in UP did.
Checking out the Energy Take Classic 5.1 home theater speakers, they have a promo video and image with this ridiculous scene in it:

What are they trying to sell exactly??
A lifestyle-enabler.
I had exactly the same idea, I figured someone else would too, though I am not sure I like that it was you. I just think it is funny that they managed to find a more douchey looking version of Drake. His profile, his posture, the shirt, the ripped jeans it is just so overdone. I like the lighting and the atmosphere though, looks earthy and cozy. Could be quite romantic except those two have no chemistry.
They are so obviously trying to sell the speaker Ani, I mean it is right there right, totally the focus of the photo. It is just like those Axe commercials. Supposedly if you wear that terrible crap women will be throwing themselves at you and if you buy those speakers you can be just like that guy or girl depending on your gender.
Psh, everyone knows that bigger is better.
Talking about the speakers of course.
Lol, Yes! Is that where you think they shot this? See the area of the floor that the rug isn't covering. I was wondering where they found some place with unfinished brick walls.

Uh actually it was more a comment as to why they didn't just do this where someone actually bothered to do the walls and floor. Initially I thought it was in the basement of some of old house but the window in the top left suggests elevation. The scene is something I would expect to see in some little getaway cabin or guest house in some soap opera. Hence my comments on the clothing, lighting, atmosphere, the attempt to seem earthy, cozy and romantic. The douchey looking guy, the posed position staring into each others eyes, the entire thing just screams soap opera.
Anyway to your question. I tend to associate that more with the midwest.
It's like Microsoft PR is asleep or some shit.
