Akatsuki is after the kyubi. "that person" is a translation error, as obviously the demon fox isn't a person.
He's saying "Akatsuki is after a certain person."
Then your quote comes in: "and that person is the "nine tails" isn't it? Are you sure of this?"
"It's very likely. It's chakra is one of the strongest. After all, it is one of the Youma"
The Youma are the legendary demons of which the kyubi is one of, if not the strongest, not sure.

wait...youma and kyuubi are totally different right? They both are part of the legendary demons?

youma is the group of legendary demons of japanese myth. kyubi is supposed to be the strongest and most dangerious of the 9. i just want to find out about the other 8. foxes are supposed to be very strong as is, but the fact that the nine-tails has lived for thousands of years (we know this b/c after like a 1000 years the get any extra tail)

So it seems that there are 9 Youma and 9 A. members. So it seems that they each want a demon.

Yeah it would be interesting for Naruto to lose his Kyuubi, I wonder if Naruto's life is tied to the fox, like if they remove the fox, Naruto will begin to leak chakra till he dies/ regains the demon fox.
No idea what the other 8 demons are. Is Gaara's sand badger one?

no it is still 9 members actually we dont know the number of members before orochimaru left if they found a guy to take orochimarus place or if they were 10 before. and no gaara's "demon" is a sand preist not a real demon.

I think at the conclusion of the series, the Kyubi will get loose, and Hokage Naruto will have to beat it himself. Relying on his own chakra and guts.

i dont know if it counts as a youma but there is the tanuki... it is also some kind of creature in japanese mythology.

Maybe each of the 8 tales (excluding Kyuubi's own) is actually the 8 other Youma. It's a thought.
At the end, Naruto will lose his Kyuubi power, unless he becomes so reliant upon it, that he refuses to hand it over. Then, it'd be lame.
Kind of like when Grahf beats your ass in Xenogears w/Alpha Weltall the time you reach the sunken ship, and then tells you you lost, because you were relying on "System Id" (which is basically an evil version of Fei..but, only a lot deeper and cooler), instead of your own strength. Same thing here.
Naruto will probably become more powerful, even without the Kyuubi. Actually, I don't think the council would want somebody with a demon in his soul, to lead Konoha.

i doubt the other 8 youma are going to be used in the manga b/c then it would become a mythological anime.
maybe one or two more would be ok, maybe in another ninja.
thata would be a cool enemy.

does anyboyd know the other youma like what are they and what animal do they represent?
i doubt the akatsuki want the other demons but just kyubi , like y for other when u can get the strongesdt which can defeat all other 8 that would be awesome.

OK, I wasn't sure.
One theory I have is that once Atasuki realizes that it will be too difficult to steal Kyuubi, they will try to entice Naruto to the dark side.
Edit: I agree with your theory, Hatake Kakashi, that fight will be awesome.

there were originally 9 members. now there are 8 after orochimaru left.
the remaining 8 members split into 4 groups of 2.

A common mistake is that people believe that Kabuto was in Akatsuki as well, but I doubt that. Some say he was Orochimaru's partner, but that wouldn't make sense, because he was undercover in Konoha his whole life practically.
Orochimaru might have been the odd man out in Akatsuki from the start though.
