He's a far busier man than I expected, that Doflamingo. But then again, he has been giving that sort of vibes from the beginning.
At least Oda didn't need to make the bad guys terrible blabbers with Law in the same cage, helpfully revealing everything and thus ensuring nobody's going to get out alive and thus everybody should try their best to escape.
Edit: This also explains how Vergo has Law's heart. Doflamingo probably simply made Law take out his own heart. A perfect way to control somebody as troublesome as Law.
I think it was pretty obvious as soon as Smoker and Tashigi saw Vergo that none of them were going to be allowed to live regardless of what Law said.
Donflamingo must be older than he looks if he's got minions that have been working their way through the marines for 15 years already. He talks about being part of the new age, but he's been around a long time already apparently.
