Papercraft
I was introduced to Papercraft by a friend and it seemed pretty interesting provided you have some spare time (though it seems it's been around for quite some time). Basically, you download certain model templates, print them out, and then cut and paste them to build your own figures. They range from anime figurines, buildings, mecha, anything. Some of the pics I've seen are really amazing:

Just check out this video of a giant paper Freedom Gundam. Basically, you download this viewer to view the model in 3D including which parts are to go where, and you can also use it to print it out. All in all, it's a cheap way for us to build models instead of importing them. I'll try and do one up once I get some ink for my printer since I downloaded Goku and Cloud, but do post any good models if you give it a shot post pics! Here's a good place to start looking for files.

That 4 foot freedom is certainly impressive, almost impressive enough I want to try my hand at it. Too bad I'm way too busy for such a project atm ;[.

I have printed C&C Mammoth tank template but i never found the time to build it. If i ever make it I'll post the results here.

Are these actually made out of regular typing paper or something sturdier? Very amazing art here.

I've tried papercraft before, but of course, nothing even remotely close to those images above.

An "impossible" triangle.
EDIT: image dropped to appropriate resolution.

Good afternoon Psyke.
I hope my letter reaches you well. Things are going fine for me; the Kids and I just received your last letter about paper craft. Suzie was quite impressed with the Goku. However little Billy still in that Pokemon phase was quite impressed with the Pikachu you created. Ever since he has seen it he has been begging me for some yellow paper so he can try to make his own.
Things are ok here. The corn crop looks like it will be good this year. Don't forget to write us while you are away at school. Also please don't forget that this year we are having Thanksgiving up at your grandparents place.

I wish I were still schooling. :(

I'm the one who got woofcat to post <3 Well he was drunk but it still counts...
By the way that cloud figurine is made of paper?? That's damn impressive

so far, not so bad.
The Tardis. I accidentally printed this one in full color. so it turned out in horrible shades of black. not so accurately cut, and no glue used.

Gizmo. much better. a simple model, black and white print. very fun to do.

Yamaha penguins... not so much of my favorite, a bit weird model to do, and I messed it up.

and my favorite. (and a normal box)
the TRON SQUIRREL! (who's a bit unstable due to his tail, so I use the box to make him stand).

I use a normal pair of scissors, a box cutter, a tube of UHU all purpose glue, and 160gm paper my mom has (for some reason).

I like Gizmo and the Squirrel. You should have tried coloring them before assembly.
