Deleted Forums

I was wondering where the threads go when a forum section is deleted?

Why not create a general forum section that takes care of all these threads before a forum section is deleted, we are losing alot of good discussions this way...

I was trying to dig up some FMA and Champloo topics, but couldn't find what I was looking for simply because it was decided to delete the forum...

As it stands, I would preffer simply one big thread in General Anime, at least that way the discussions don't get lost like they do now...
