Another great episode. Seems like all the squad captains have different characteristics. No wonder they quarrel with each other so much, haha.
If Ichimaru was supposed to kill the group, why didn't he do so? He basically knew they were alive since he waved them goodbye when the gate collapsed.

i think the reason it kept them alive was to see if they could make it in so he can truely face them prolly so he can toy with them

Kooshi, that was the idea. Everyone there knew that Ichimaru let them go and that he was making things up. It looks to me that he is trying to gauge them, to see how far they can go... and have some fun with them heh.

Anyone else bothered by Ichimaru's mouth? It looks awful imo, I'm sure they have a reason for drawing his mouth like that but the question is, are the rewards great enough for the stupid look? I submit to you that it is not! =P

Im pretty sure most of the captains didnt even care that he let them go(like Byakuya, and 8th squad captain/guy with the pink flower robe), but oh well seeing all the captains was cool, hope we find out every single one;but thats asking for two much seeing how there are 13 of them(13th one was not there)

I'm surprised that Rukia's bro didn't have any reaction, since there is that rumor about the group containing Ichigo. was it just me or did i count only 10 or 11 captains? seems to be missing one or two...

@Jessper not only his mouth, his eyes are...well...lets just say interesting....

the episode makes much more sense if you read the manga.
there were 12 captains there. the old guy is also a captain and 1 was missing due to sickness.

Kyouraku Shunsui (8th Division)
Hitsugaya Toushirou (10th Division)
Kurotshuchi Mayuri (12th Division)

Right Hand Side
Aizen Sousuke (5th Division)
Komamura Sajin (7th Division)
Tousen Kaname (9th Divison)
Zaraki Kenpachi (11th Division)

In the middle was Yamamoto Genryuusai 1st Division Captain and general-captain to all the others. Ichimaru Gin is 3rd Division captain and was the guy that came in. The 13th division cpatain Ukitate Jyuushiro was not there.
