When you clamp a beer bottle on top of another mostly full one, why does it immediately overflow?

that's cuz beer is a wonderfully, mysterious thing. it is full of magic.

as homer simpson said, it's the 'cause and solution to all of our problems.'

i was actually discussing this in the bar last night lol. its to do with the shock that goes through the glass is vibrated through the liquid exciting the bubbles. put simply atleast i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif

what i want to know is why the bubbles appear to come from 1 point at the base of the bottle.
