is this a continuation of the anime Tales of Eternia? or is it a seperate thing all together?

Nah, standalone... 3 ova's based on the original Tales of Phantasia... which imo had one of the coolest story's and characters in a rpg. Possibly the best RPG on the snes... but that's just me... and I'm crazy lol
