I've watched a few eps of this, and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. The manga is dumb, but still manages to be pretty amusing. The anime so far is just dumb. It just doesn't work. I don't know if it's the voice actors I don't like, or the changes they made which seem aimed at a younger audience, or if the story only works as a manga, but I just didn't like it. I'd still reccomend the manga as decent humor, but I'd skip the series.

im watching the anime... it's ok... it is better than i expected though... it's a fun watch.. but that's about it...

It is one hell of a bread show! very funny and hilarious. I'm guessing it's a 26 episode series.

What do you guys think? how many episodes will it take to complete the series?

well, the anime isn't as good as the manga, but once we start the tournaments i'm sure the kuroyangi's and pierot's (I'm quite sure i've spelled both names wrong) reactions scenes will be greatly hilarious...

the problem is that the first chapters are based around kanji jocks and those don't go well in TV, but still, the first scene in the first episode is amazing, those two knights duking it out with bread rolls, i had to rewatch it over again to make sure i wasn't dreaming...

This anime is gonna be good, and probably 52 eps long (maybe more), filled with stupid reactions and scincetifical bread explenations...

oh, and i hope they make a filler episode of takihate Gohan or lord of the loqaut... those two are gonna rule...

I like this a lot ,the funniest show of the season. Morikaya is a favorit. The humor is great and i hope they keep up the jokes and not just talk about bread and solar hands.

Is it possible for Azuma to lose? Because so far he has shitted on everybody thats faced him. Also, how the hell do you make a bread better than the bread that SENDS YOU TO HEAVEN? Why not just call the tournament off after that? Also: whats the deal with the afro(s)?

That ending with the 3D dancing guy has got to be one of the gayest thing I have ever seen/heard

So far, according to the manga, Azuma loses at least once, and there are still times to come.

a bread better than heaven is easy, it needs to send you somewhere further away from earth, like the space or something.

Episode 29 is out!!! COOL. Im only on 16 though i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif . I love this anime its so awesome. I never thought an anime about bread could be this interesting! On this anime site they said there is only going to be 47 episodes or something like that. That cant be possible! Can it? There 133 chapters of the manga. I hope there is at least 80 episodes. I need to read the manga to see if it will be discontinued anytime soon.

I got from ANIDB that 47 will be the last epoisde in this series but the manga is so long, the lastest release I think was chapter 129. I don't think 47 eposides are enough. Do you think that they work through with the manga or they going to cut a lot out?

the manga is definately funny, but i must say the voice actors did an amazing job on yakitate they sound great and the show is hilarious they have kept pretty true to the manga story line some added scenes but nothing of importance was left out, it's been a while since ep 32 was released give me my fix goddamit!!

I've just caught up to the lastest episode 43 (after stopping on 13)...

I think the anime has done a good job with the manga adaptation...

Two things that bothered me, I remember St. Pierre's owner pointing a gun to Rame just before he dissapeared...

And I also remember the manga hinting that he was banging Yukino...

Other than those two things, I found everything else presented very well...

I'm kinda dissapointed on those two things because they made the story that much darker, and it was a great contrast to the usual comedy pace that the story has...

BTW, I really recommend the manga... It's just a tad darker and funnier, but that tad makes it that much better..

I'm actually kind of dissapointed that they changed around that scene...I thought the whole poison scenario was more powerful.

1. the baker guy has the same voice
2. his shop is called saint pierre
3. he told azuma he's moving to tokyo to make more customers

Honestly I don't see any more evidence than that...

True he has changed a lot : from the nice and caring country baker he changed to a freak only interested in crushing japanese bakers, even ppl who work in his own chain (talking about Mokoyama)
I guess it's gonna be a bad surprise for Azuma when he will discover it....porbably the only thing that will break his hope and fighting spirit.

well this serie was awsome. I just hope they make another season, or at least some OAV of it later on (a movie maybe). The reaction was funny in the last episode. yay Pierrot is back! even if it's is the last episode, it's is alway funny to see him haha

Yes the series was really awesome ( ep68 lotr was great too), im also not happy its ended. i really hope they make another season.

Snow Queen parody as well. And as for the final episode it was ok. Although the last bread Kazuma made should have done the owner of St. Pierre become a nice man forever :(.

I find it quite ironic that it ended at '69' episodes. ^_^

I loved this anime, and am buying it when it comes to the states.

I was sad they rushed the ending like that. The scanslated manga hasn't gone that far yet so I don't know for sure but shouldn't there have been enough material to last maybe 10 more eps or so? Was there really no buildup to the meister/azuma fight? :confused: Oh well.... it was good while it lasted.
