There should be a FF7 Ultima Edition on Suprnova, it's about 2/3 the size of the original version. I'm still surprised you still haven't played the game yet!

Oh and about the remake, I'm not sure about that. They're making a lot of spin offs, but from what I heard they're not remaking the game.

From the looks of it, the white hair men are somehow directly connected to the planet. Around the end you see Kadaj summons Ultima Weapon, and normal people can't summon weapons.

Hmm I just checked on adventchildren.net and they say the North American release is in the first quarter of 05. The Japanese release will be at the end of this year. I'm not sure if this is accurate, but if it does come out in Japan the pirating community will go nuts, and so will we.

From some unofficial sources I've heard that AC is about to be released in Japan in the next little while. I'm pretty sure the global release is Q1 2005. They're pretty much done the movie now, it shouldn't take them another year.

Actually, it has been well known for some time now (and according to the latest trailer) that the American release of Advent Children will be September 13 (a day before the Japanese release). If you check any major gaming site, you can confirm this statement. Hope I could help.

Looking at the differing timezones of the two countries, that would mean that the US release would be on the 13th and the Japanese release would be on the 14th. However, that's not the case anymore since a recent statement in EGM magazine revealed that the US release would be pushed back until "sometime this holiday season." Let the whining begin.

Two years have passed since the fated battle.

wow... that story sounds kinda bad. but then i've been sort of skeptical of advent children since the first polar express-esque glimpse of it. i loved the original FFVII game and would've loved if they stuck with the original stylized look and feel of the game. AC seems cold and the character designs look like lifeless barbie dolls. pluss it looks like they used mocap and i hate mocap. i just hope when the movie comes out they blow me away and prove me totally wrong.

Yeah it would be awesome if AonE did a fansub of Advent Children and then GotWoot hosted a torrent for it. That would be bad ass. It'd have enough demand to bring their tracker down. I hope the powers that be can make it happen though. Nice idea, BioAlien.

Also, I found the trailers for Advent Children to be more inspiring than the FFVII Tech Demo at E3's PS3 presentation. There's no way it's going to suck goatballs. In my view, it's basically one of Square's last few crutches to stand on. The Final Fantasy franchise hasn't really had a definitive hit since FFVII, so they can't risk fucking it up since what would serve better to usher in a FFVII remake if that Tech Demo is more than just a demo.

They should release it at the same time because they risk alot of money from ppl that will just d/l a subbed version. If it sucks, then even more. I know that if it comes the same day, I'll buy it first thing in the morning. If not, who knows if after watching a subbed version I get the courage to go and pay for it to enjoy 5.1.

Unless the US version includes some sort of bonus that makes me go crazy!! (not behind the scenes/art/trivia crap). A FF7 DVD version for PS2 would be nice. Apply some anti-aliasing and presto!

it is quite real. the group also released an english sub file, but it's not the best (pity aone doesn't do subtitle files...) the quality is pretty good, althoguh i'd have preferred it if they'd split it into 2 700mb files (the quality would be better w/ 1.4gb filesize). i've only skimmed through it (skipping in 10 second increments).

phoenix: if u just want them to "work" try using vlc media player. works out of the box (you might even like it and switch permanently). no file mucking required.

k off to watch the whole shebangbang. pity the subs dont translate signs and allat, not even the words before the movie (...they look like a brief prologue of sorts? ill prolly get a friend to translate)

Watched it, and I must say, most beautiful movie I have ever seen. Best computer graphics ever used in a movie period. The subtitles seemed a bit bad at points, hopefully the real subs will be better, and hopefully they'll get some pimp voice actors for the dubs. Anyways, amazing movie. On the bien version all you have to do is use VobSub or another sub manager and just switch the sub over from Japanese to english. No additional downloading required. Or if you're too lazy for that, you can just delete the other sub files out of the directory. That works just as well.

Best part of the movie was seeing Rufus, and Aeris' face. Sexy beasts.
Also when Kadaj transformed into Sephiroth. And pretty much every motorcycle scene kicked ass.

They should have showed some chocobos running through the fields (in the end), when Cloud was riding his bike.

I never expected it to match the game, because there's just no way in hell it could do that. I just thought they'd have a more complex story based on all the trailers I've seen and all the rumors out there prior to the release. The story is really really linear.

Yes kinda, but it is still more intended for the people that have played the game, because it doesn't matter how simple they make it, the most important things in the movie relate to the game, such as Jenova, Sepiroth, and Aeris. Especially Aeris because she just popped out of nowhere in the movie and they never explained who she is.

I only played through maybe 1/4 of FF7 back in the day, so maybe that was partly to blame, but I've been around enough people over the years who played through it to be able to follow most of the premise.....basically ALL that its about is the bad guys looking for the head, and the good guys looking for the bad guys?

Shinsen-Subs subbed many parts wrong. Like when Cloud heads to Healin and Rufus says Ex-Soldier when he first rolls out to meet cloud. In the Shinsen-Subs version they say "....no doubt when you were one of the soldiers" when it's supposed to be "as expected of an ex-Soldier" There's also the part when Rufus says their at the capital of the Forgotten City Ajito in the Shinsen-Subs version they totally leave this out and instead replaces it with "their base" which does not make any sense at all.

If you want to get a good subbed version of FFVII AC go with either the very first release by Jasconious or with the newly release version by AonE.

I got to 45% of downloading the XviD AonE version, then they released the H.264 version -.-'. But it's ok, I'm getting it at some good speed 8D

Whats the difference between these two? I downloaded the h2 version (I saw the movie arleady just want a file instead of a folder) but I can't run it on bsplayer nor mpc. Do I need special codecs or does the xvid version work better?

h.264 is a fairly new compression method and I think the only thing that can decode it right now is MPC + ffdshow. Quality might be a little better than Xvid, but it's very negligible. Don't bother with h.264 files right now because the format is still under heavy development and compatibility sucks balls. Just get the Xvid version.

Actually I think "Ajito" is the foreign-adopted Japanese term for "hideout"?
I'm not very sure but at first I downloaded the Jasconious and Hiro-Subs version and I chose a random spot to glance at to compare quality which happened to be the scene where they talked about "ajito" and the Jaconious version said that the Forbidden Capital or something like that was "Ajit", while Hiro-Subs said "it's their hideout." I got curious about why there's such a difference and my friend looked it up in her dictionary and it said that that "ajito" meant "hideout". I've downloaded four versions (Jasconious, HS, Shinsen, and Aone) and I think HS was the only one who had it as "hideout". I'm not sure about the correctness of it though....*shrugs*
