hey im new to bit torrent and im not very good with comps... but anyways, when i try to download any of the torrents of naruto, the download time is around 3900 hours, lol. my cousin referred me to this place and told me to get bit torrent and all that but he also said something about changing the port range or something to make the downloads a lot faster, he said he had the same problem like the downloads would be a long time, so once you changed the port range, it would be faster... i need help in how to access ports and how to change them... please answer as fast as possible

I have found a step by step guide on port forwarding for you Linksys WRT54GS router. You can find it here (http://www.portforward.com/linksys/wrt54g-portforwarding.htm) (you didn't tell me which version you had so I assumed it was version 1. Also, this is for the same router except your router has a speed booster function, the router configuration should look the same). Where it says to make a Static Ip Address, ignore that. You really don't have to unless you have made one already. Hope I could help.

Lol, this is how I wanted my problem to end. A nice 4 posts of help, and I would be downloading with the best of em'. Instead I'm screwed with 3kB/s downloads until I shell out for a new phone line and a router. XD

Yes, if you have a router, port forwarding will make the download rate faster. If you need a step by step guide, just tell me what type of router you have (Linksys, D-Link, etc.) and the model number, and I'll give you one. Hope I could help.

If you could tell me what the model number of your Linksys router is, then I can give you a step by step guide on port fowarding. Hope I could help.

Ok, here (http://www.portforward.com/linksys/befw11s4v1-portforwarding.htm) is a step by step guide on port forwarding for your Linksys BEFW11S4 (you didn't tell me which version yo have, so i'm going with version 1). Where it says to make a static ip address, you don't have to. Just make sure your router uses your dynamic ip address and you shouls be fine. Hope I could help.

My version number is 1.50.10.
I have tried to add in the details but when I click on Save Settings and the next time I log in, the settings were not set at all. I find it strange why it wasnt saved and I cant seems to save the settings.
