A 'Hagane no Renkinjutsushi' (Fullmetal Alchemist) movie is to be released theatrically in the summer of 2005. The official announcement of this shocking news will be in the August 04' issue of 'Shonen GanGan' magazine (on sale July 12).

Some more news:

The opening and ending will both be done by L'arc~en~Ciel (the opening is called Link, the ending is called Lost Heaven).

Many characters will return, such as Mustang, Armstrong, Wrath & more.
For those who don't know it deals with Ed's work to get back to his world, aided by a guy that looks identical to Al.

It will premiere the 23rd of july, in about 2 weeks.

Well it's all up to whenever the DVD rip is released, and it will quite possibly take closer to a year... however it will probably be faster than Naruto since FMA isn't as popular and therefore won't run in the cinemas as long.

FMA is much more famous than Naruto in japan. FMA was the nr1. anime tv rating wise most of the time it was it was shown on tv while Naruto didnt even make to top 20 most of the times. FMA also much many awards from several anime mags. I read all this anime mags i buyed when FMA was on tv over there.

i liked this movie alot! it's great how roles of characters were switched based on that steam world v. alchemy world (like hughes and king bradley). and i also appreciated the bittersweet ending-- matched the sentiments of the series in my opinion. fun fun ^^

Just saw it, I was not prepared for that level of rock.

Did I pick this up wrong or has history been changed, it seemed as though Hitler died? Also Alternate-Hughes was a Nazi! Armstrong was great as usual. i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif

I loved the action scenes, Mustang is such a badass. Al can now do circle-less transmutation and has a freaky Alchemy power that only he can use (well not anymore) and is a better fighter than Ed lets not forget. It seems as though the whole robo arm/leg is the only thing Ed has going for him now.

I also noticed that the whole nuclear bomb thing had next to no relevance to the story, leaving an open end for a sequel movie or a new series, hurrah!

Video quality is excellent but the subs are very bad.

Timing is way off. They missed quite a lot of the lines but its better than having subs than not at all.

That's why Ed left in the first place you know, too destroy the portal. There are quite alot of alchemist in that world so I don't think the world would go under just because Al left. Theyre goal all along was to be together again, so it's understandable that Al was willing to leave everything behind.

anyway, loved this movie despite the horrible subs. the ending was so so i could kinda see it going either way, Ed going and Al staying or the way it actually ended. at the begining it was hard to understand what was going on, probably because i hadn't whatched the anime lately ^_^ but overall a great movie and everyone that has watched the anime should wath the movie.

if what Zinobi said didn't work for you for some reason, then u can download the Core Media Player (http://www.tucows.com/preview/299014), because with CCCP and VLC it didn't work for me though i never tried it with WMP, so just download that and it should work if the other way doesn't i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif

was a good film, seemed to asnwer most of the questions quite neatly left over from the series. But I can't help but feel that the plot was squashed to fit into the 1 hour 40min film. I like FMA soo much and i like this movie alot. Cause even though i dont like that they are stuck in a world they dont belonge in. I was okay it cause hey are with eacother.

I cant believe someone said that they dont care about the people in thier world. Of course they care thats Ed sacrificed himself in order to save them from people from the other world and destroy the portal.

As he said he dont like being without alchemy or his friends but he had to go back.

Even they dont make another movie or series im okay cause i havent started reading the manga yet who are suppose to be better and diffrent story from the anime.

Just wondering is there any other version aside from the godawful camcorder bootleg. I dled it and it had subs but overall the qualitiy was atrocious but still watchable but I wouldn't mind deleting it for a better sub. Overall I felt very satisfied with the movie picked up where the series ended and tied things up quite nicely. There were a few stupid elements (homoculi Nazi's attacking the alchemist world) but overall I was pleased and liked the ending. All we need now is a sequal where Al and Ed go off to liberate the concentration camps and fight hitler.

I don't think there is. You really should install Media Player Classic or VLC. It's a very simple process in the end. If you can succesfully install Office, you can install a good player as well.

Without a good player with a hefty pack of codecs, you can't even watch videos in mkv and ogg containers.

finally saw the movie, and it was really good. I especially liked the opening where they showed the pics from the manga(or what ever). it was however disappointing to see that pretty much "everyone" ed had a conflicting relationship with died (with the exception of the military) but oh well.

I guess eventually they could get back, but that would just be too confusing(seeing how everything that could get them back is dead...)

it's great quality dvd rip and the subs are understandable, best copy out i guess, finally got to watching this movie, wow that was uhmmm well it was great in a way just expected some cooler alchemy fights but this movie wasn't half that bad they could've done without the whole Nazi thing though kind of farfetched if you ask me

Well, they were on Earth in Germany between WW1 and WW2. It would have been more farfetched NOT to have Nazis.

Just watched it(the psyke sub is great quality btw). And it was awsome. Tied up all the loose ends for me. Though, like others, I would have preferred they both stayed in their own world in the end, but it was fine the way it was. But it was a great end, much better than the last episode of the series.


Of course, they don't really need to make another sequel. We all know where that uranium bomb ends up. America.

same, I tried Utorrent and it had 199 seeds but it only connected to 2, so i stayed with BitComet.

Ive just finished watching the movie and I have to ssay it was Great!!!! I loved it.
Dont know how that gluttony turned into that thing. I suppose its got something to do with Ryla.

It was really sad and things didnt turn out as you would expect it to but the ending was ok. Though I didnt like all those important people who died, tohse characters were my favourites T_T.

Anyway, I just finished this movie and overall, I thought it was really good. Didn't expect that kind of ending but the movie was a fitting end to the series. I didn't really like those L Arc'en Ciel songs, I was kinda hoping to hear Rewrite again or something other than L'Arc en Ciel (dunno why everyone likes them so much. I didn't like Ready Steady Go! at all) =/. The fight scenes were pretty intense too, although I was kind of hoping to see Al (Al in Ed's getup was cute) fight alot more. I'm cool with L'arc, although I'll agree RSG wasn't there best song. In my opinion, Undo was the best OP song. I thought it was cool how they incorporated the DVD covers into the intro theme.

Ironically, my BitComet was downloading a lot faster from a DHT network than utorrent is from the KAA tracker

But uh..after watching the movie...

There's still a good chance for a sequel as it didn't leave off completely resolved. They were going to go find that nuclear weapon or something at the end, so I'm sure they have a lot more journies to go on.

Well finally watched the movie.

I just felt like there was something lacking. Maybe because I've never been the biggest FMA fan even though it was occasionally awesome throughout it's TV run. Anyway, the ending was pretty nice (fairly unexpected) and overall it was definitely worth the watch.

It was weird to see Wrath as a good guy all of a sudden, though :S

finished watching the movie its was awsome!!!! kinda sad and a little dissapointed; kinda sucks that they are not gonna have alchemic powers anymore after AL became so good i would say he is better than ED the freaking tornado that he create was awsome didn't think alchemy could influence the weather...... its kinda sad that he father died but then again it was time he is like what 800 years old or so.... also it was nick to see the guy that always talks about his daughter again it was really said when he died and very ominous when he was waving good bye to ED and AL and winery when they were on the train......it was nice to see the flame alchemist was around.... it was no surprise that it was set in the time before WWI with all the german refference in the anime and the names of some of the charcters was a dead give away.... i was soooo happy when ED and AL were reunited that is was i have been wait for for about 2 years now finally they are back together..... felt sorry for wrath but when he met his mother it was not so bad.....

a nice, superb movie to finish off the series now i can finally let fma rest.....

well not yet gonna see if the KAA version is better since i am archiving this series and then maybe i'll let it rest hehe. :rolleyes:
