Yeah, I was there but the best that I could do with babelfish was that some sort of disaster is affecting a city and court intrigue. Could someone please fill in the blanks?

Sounds like a good premise... I'll be looking out for the fansubs if/when they come out...

so who cares if it's licensed someone will sub it no matter what why do people always asume it's the end of the world when something is licensed there will still be people who will sub it illegaly

EDIT: better summary of what it's about:

Otogizoushi takes place in the mid-Heian period (roughly 1000ad). Kyoto is ravaged by starvation and epidemic, nevertheless the lords and samurai continue their ugly strugles for political supremacy.

The Imperial Court, sympathetic towards the suffering of the people, orders Minamoto no Yorimitsu, a master archer, to find and retrieve a sacred jade cup that promises to restore peace to Kyoto. Yorimitsu, however, also falls ill due to the epidemic. His youngest sister, Lady Hikaru, decides secretely to make the journey in his place.

I just watched the raw episode 1 and it looks good. Thanks for the link. I can't understand a bit of Japanese but it looked like a strong first episode. The artwork reminds me Kai Doh Maru.

I hope it gets fansubbed. Thank goodness it was picked up by Media Blasters

Do you think that an English website means that it will come over sooner?

Sad thing is it has already been licensed by Media Blasters, so unless a
renegade fansub group comes along we are out of luck! i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif

I dont think there is a need for a renegade group... someone like aone can do it... They recently did Gokusen that was licensed by the same people
