Well, you have two options. You can either get a single player that I have found which plays mkv (Matroska) and many other files known as VLC Player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) or you can get a pack that you can install that will let you play mkv files plus it includes a lot of the major codecs that are essential for playback which you can get here (http://downloads.matroska.org/packs/) (I'm guessing you have Windows as an OS, if you don't, go with VLC Player, because I'm to lazy to give you the other link for other OS's i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif). Each one offers different things, it depends on which one you want. Also, I don't belive sfv files are any sort of video file. They must be some kind of support file for the mkv file. Hope I could help.

I think this can play MKV files, not too sure.
null (http://www.tcmp.org/) The Core Media Player
Has a neat feature where you can play the video on your desktop.
