Help with linksys...

I have had problems with my internet for some time now....I always have to reset my router in order to re-connect to the internet...but my mom has finally called someone about it and asked what to do....so far they said to disconnect the router and connect the cable modem directly to one computer...and so far the internet hasnt gone down....so im trying to see what driver i have installed as of right now for my linksys router (WRT54G is the model i have.... just need to know how to access it and get my driver details)...thanks for any help...

if you are talking about your firmware version, connect your router and go to IE or whatever broswer you use and type in 192.168.1.1 from there, it should prompt you to enter a username/pass. assuming you didnt change it, it should be admin/admin. i dont have that same router model but i think this is the same steps you take
