need help

i've been downloading a torrent file for the past couple of days.... and just recently i've gotten a couple error messages saying "piece **** (number) failed hash check, re-downloading it" Im guessin if it will re-download it then there's nothing to worry about... but i've gotten several of these messages. I would just like to know what that means (did not pass hash check)... thanks...

I dont really understand what the hash thing is. But I also have gotten that error once in awhile and it doesn't really hurt your download. The error goes away after awhile. How many times have you gotten that error anyway?

just about 6 or 7 times.... my download got done... and there seems to be nothing wrong... other than ep 34 of Naruto has trouble playing in DivX player... so you're right... it doesn't affect anything... I was just curious as to what it meant...
